If it wasn't obvious, this clip was taken from my Twitch livestream of the PS5 Reveal Event, so it explains why there was barely any commentary afterwards or talking in between.
When we get a proper RE8 trailer, I'll be sure to film my reaction and talk about the things I didn't get to in this video, such as the setting, what Ethan has dragged himself into, who Chris shot at, potential enemies etc. :)

As far as i know, ethan and mia have a child, and trying to hide coz the child shows signs of infections and chris tries to find them.

Ethan! That's crazy to make Chris as Villain. I think there's something going on after that event on RE7. This trailer makes u excited just by assuming Chris is evil by shooting the woman. But that woman might have a problem that Ethan not aware of.

I’m getting a feeling that this village is a hidden Umbrella location that was kept off books. Also all the werewolves, witches and I thought I saw a vampire are all side effects from new virus/infection/parasite. Oh and Chris flat out killing either Mia (or worse Mia and ethans child) is probably going to be some sort of character misdirect, like the idea of Chris being evil in revelations 1.

also the scene in the cabin with the old man when he gets pulled through the roof gives me serious dog soldiers vibes. and the tag line his story comes to an end i think is aimed a Chris and not Ethan. Could this be the last time we see MR Redfield could this be his last outing could he dare I say it DIE
I cannot wait for this, people are already giving it stick for it being Ethan who will be the main protagonist. personally I think it being Ethan again is a good thing.
I loved playing as Ethan! And to have Chris included now is a bonus.
@@NukaEle snap back at you, I felt that playing as Ethan a "normal person" unlike Chris, Jill, Leon etc who have all been through so much as characters we sort of become used to the fact they are going to make it through. Playing as Ethan for me gave an added sense of dread and unease throughout the whole game and the 1st person camera angle was a excellent direction for the franchise and I'm glad its back

I thought it was potentially an Outlast game until I saw Ethan holding a gun cos Outlast has no fighting in it. But it did give me Outlast 2 vibes.

Lol RE7 was quite a disappointment for me as hardcore RE fans. I'm gonna keep low expectation for this.
I think I’m falling in love with the idea of this game so much because I’m not one who’s opposed to the first person perspective. I actually quite like it. And I am a hardcore RE fan as well (in fact; it’s the only series I play, because nothing else lives up to it in my eyes). It’s quite interesting to see RE in FPS and TPS formats because there’s just so many things that one can do but not the other. Both can be utilized to create a truly amazing horror experience and I think the games they’ve been coming out with in the last 3 years have been flushing out the best of both worlds
In third person, the game is able to throw all sorts of different threats at the player from 360 degrees because (especially with 2 and 3 remake) the player is able to run around and look freely at their surroundings while running in the opposite direction. First person is much more in your face and slow. The inability to see what is behind you is a huge fear factor that is only possible in first person, and it creates a lot of tension. Like the “welcome to the family, son” part in RE7. That made some players jump because jack snuck up behind Ethan and it was unexpected. It wouldn’t have been possible in third person.
Z Ξ R Ξ N Λ D L I that’s a fair opinion to have, and a lot of people agree with you. However, (as a hardcore re fan as well) I would encourage you to keep an open mind about this one. They’re trying a lot of new ideas with this entry; and remember it also got incredible responses from the ambassador play testers.

definitely takes some inspiration from 4. RE7 took some inspiration from 1 and I suppose a little bit of 5(the ship scene specifically). as well done as the character models are... I honestly wish they kept with the anime-like style they had in RE 6 and their animated films. I hope Chris isn't the main antagonist of this video, because he's honestly my second favorite RE character with Leon being at the top. well, the games anyway. I hope we didn't just see Chris kill Ethan's wife. in any case, if Chris did... then that would mean Ethan wasted his time in RE7. wasting my time or my time getting wasted is a pet peeve of mine, so if I had played RE7 just for mia to die in RE8... I would be less than happy. don't get me wrong, if my wife or girlfriend had gone missing and I only got one message that made me think she was in trouble... I'd do all I could to save her ass. However, as far as games are concerned... my pet peeve gets in the way of a lot of things.

and as for the EVIL Chris, I think this may be put here to throw people off a bit. Capon has made no effort to hide the fact (the basically told us this) that hallucinations will play a large part in the story, could this be a hallucination that Ethan is having of Chris killing either Mia or their daughter (I can't make my mind up which one it is he shoots you cant get a real good look at the person)
🙋 hi there, I'm just wondering how does resident evil 7 and resident evil 8 tie into the rest of the resident evil games, especially 8 and why do they have a vampire in resident evil games. Resident evil supposed to have zombies not vampires in them. Are they getting bored or are they running out of material or what. It just seems odd that they would put a vampire in resident evil 8.

RE 1 and RE 2 are still my favorites. Not a huge fan of the direction this series took since. This just looks weird and not like the RE I know and love.
Kinda interesting reading the comments that people automatically assume that Chris is now evil because he shot Mia, maybe Mia still had the virus inside her, maybe she was pregnant and the baby had the virus or maybe it wasn't really Mia at all, maybe a clone or something to do with the virus (bit far fetched but stranger things have happened in this series)

I ain't feeling the hype for this game at all. I tried defending RE7 when it was getting fire thrown at it with its reveal trailer, but in the end, it was a huge disappointment as an RE game for me and seeing as it is more or less the same, I'm not gonna do the same for RE8. It feels a lot more closer to Bloodborne, Outlast, and Remothered, more than anything. I really hope I'm wrong though, but fingers crossed if I am. Sure I'll give it a chance, just like anything else, but so far, I'm just not feeling it. If it was simply called "The Village" or something similar, I'd probably be fine with it, but as an RE game, I just can't.
Fam every RE game is different. U remember RE4? How vastly different it was? And how arguably it's one of the greatest games in the franchise? 8 is very similar too 4
@@shadowx8145 RE4 was different, yes, but it was unique in itself that it retained more qualities as an RE game and never got its influence from other major types of media. RE4 still had variety, character development, better movement system, upgraded gameplay mechanics, and a lot more that became a major staple of the series since then. RE7 (and I'm also guessing RE8), get their influence from other media, such as Evil Dead, Texas Chainsaw, Outlast, Remothered, and a lot more, hence the unique quality of these games being so off in the first place. RE4 did quite the opposite, which is exactly why I welcomed it more than both RE7 and from what we've seen in the trailer, RE8.

Anyone more curious what happened to Jill post RE5? She was given a experimental drug by Wesker that worked on her thanks to her anti-bodies she developed by receiving the T-virus cure in RE3, then literally disappeared off the map afterwards.
Also did they use another model for Chris? He looks different from the new Chris model from RE7 which I can understand because he looks more like he did back in the very early games.
"His story comes to a close." definitely implies someone is dying. Can't tell who though. Chris could simply be a misdirection and Ethan dies since let face it, he was built as a rather disposable civilian character and player insert. On the other hand, Capcom has been using Chris a lot recently (RE5, RE6, RE: Vendetta, RE7) so they might be deciding to give Chris a rest for the foreseeable future. Maybe it could be both?
Finally anyone feels Capcom is kind of rushing these RE games? They're pretty much keeping them on a 1 every year schedule. Last company that did that was EA and look what happened to them. I'm sure it's going to be good, but is it going to be short? I know the new RE engine allows them to incorporate actors and models into the game faster, but still map layout, gameplay and story all still needs time.
