They don't call him King George for nothing. The man does not have a bad song. His style is always the same, a man in a button-down shirt, a cowboy hat & his guitar, singing his songs. No autotune, no costume changes. No backup dancers. Just a man & his guitar. For a fun one, check out 'You know me better than that'. One of my favs is the first one I ever heard by him back in 1986 & I fell in love with his voice. ' Nobody in his right mind, would have left her'. I had just split with my hubby of 14 years & this song spoke to me. Then I love his song 'The Chair' for its cheeky vibe & odd timing. He is the best country has to offer. Country in its purest form.
It’s amazing to see all the love King George is getting in this comment section! “Pure Country “ would be a wonderful movie for your movie reaction channel!
Fun fact: George strait has 60+ number one hits and was active for over 30 years making hit after hit. Youll never find a bad song with george. One of my favorites of george is you'll be there. It wasnt a huge hit but its a beautiful song. I strongly recommend you react to that song.
So many good hits from George. They are endless. A few more good ones: I cross my heart, check yes or no, Love without end amen, the best day, and so many more. He has like 60 #1 hits. The hole is deeper than any other artist with George, even deeper than Garth Brooks.
I’m so happy to hear you guys love George and I’ve got great news for the both of you. The man has 86 top 10 hits and 60 of them reached number 1. I’m sure there will be plenty of recommendations in the comments and they’re all correct choices. The beauty is with George there are no wrong choices because he’s the King of Country. A few of my favorites are Love Without End Amen, I Cross My Heart, Fool Hearted Memory, Check Yes or No, She Let Herself Go, Run, and I Saw God Today
Hey y'all, I'm glad you enjoy listening to George, he is great. A few of his other great songs are "Let's fall to pieces together", "Unwound", "Fool-hearted memory", and "The chair".
"The Chair" would be fun for Amber to react to. I have a feeling that she would gently chide George when she realizes the ending. I could hear her saying something like "George, you little devil, you naughty boy". That should be the next George Strait song that they should react to.
Great reaction. If you can check out “Troubadour “, “I Saw God Today “, “The Chair”, “Adalida”, “Lead On”. You really can’t go wrong with a George Strait song. He still sounds great as well, I just saw a him in concert in June.
He had so many great hits! I could list over 50 #1 hits he had. Baby Blue, Love Without End, Amen, Ocean Front Property, I Can Still Make Cheyenne, Baby's Gotten Good at Goodbye, The Chair, Give It Away, Famous Last Words of a Fool, and What's Going On In Your World. Also Alan Jackson has an amazing amount of great songs as well.
I grew up listening to King George, he's got such a great song catalog! My favorites are probably "Check Yes or No", "Carried Away", or "All My Ex's Live in Texas". I can't wait for y'all to get deeper into his hits! It makes me so sad that Garth Brooks can't be streamed anywhere other than Amazon Music but I hope y'all can check him out soon too, even if it's not here on UA-cam! You should definitely listen to "Friends in Low Places" and "The Dance"!
Ya'll should check out some Bob Wills, too! (Old Country)....Cherokee Maiden, Stay A Little Longer, I Hear You Talkin', or San Antonio Rose are two of my favorites....My Dad's music that he taught me to dance to: You can DEFINITELY SCOOT A BOOT to Bob Wills!!! Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys: Kings Of Western Swing! Waylon Jennings recorded a song about them in 1974 called: Bob Wills It Still The King.... My Mom & Dad used to really "cut a rug" to Bob Wills! They'd dance they're TAILS OFF!!!
I'm not a country fan, but I was given free tickets to see George Strait years ago, and I still think it's one of the best concerts I've ever been to; he was amazing.
I had a similar situation with Brooks & Dunn. Wasn't sure I was going to bother going, but I'm glad I did. Some girl crowding the stage had her phone out. They took it, "This is better than my phone!", called the last number in her call history, told them who it was, held the phone out to the crowd to prove who it was, then set the phone down at the back of the stage, still connected to the person they called, and played the rest of the show. 😂
Similar experience with Emmy Lou Harris! On our high school senior class trip (1982 - gads!), one of the buses broke down, and the students on that bus never made it to the destination. As "compensation," all the passengers were given $12 and 2 tickets to the Emmy Lou Harris concert. My best friend was on that bus and invited me to go with him to the show. We weren't expecting much but ended up blown away by her stage presence and voice. I've been a fan ever since!
There's a reason George has been the undisputed King of Country Music. His first song came out in 1981, and he's been crushing it, non-stop for FORTY-TWO YEARS. For something different, check out his duet with Frank Sinatra, on "Fly Me to the Moon". And also, check out his song named for his band, "Ace in the Hole".
If you like that lilting yodel, you'd probably enjoy Dwight Yoakam. "Guitars, Cadillacs" and "Honky Tonk Man" are two really good ones. He recorded a lot in the 80s and 90s, but his style is reminiscent of the old timey country artists. He also had a role in a GREAT movie that I'd recommend for your movie channel - "Sling Blade." He was perfectly cast, as was Billy Bob Thornton
Love Dwight Yoakum, especially "Honky Tonk Man" I just watched him in "Panic Room" with Jodi Foster, Forest Whitaker, Kristen Stewart and Jared Leto. Another good one for the movie channel ❤
I went to 21 George Strait concerts from 1988 to 2001. It was awesome. I went 11 years in a row to the George Strait Team Roping Classic in Kingsville, Texas. After the team roping, they set up the arena for the concert. You could sit in the bleachers on the sides of the arena or stand on the dirt floor in front of the stage. We were literally a few feet away from the stage and George. You didn't dare leave and go to the bathroom because you weren't getting your spot back trying to get through the crowd. Great memories from those days!!!
King George! Nothing but hits! He has one of my favorite Christmas songs about Christmas cookies and it's the greatest thing you'll ever hear for the holidays!
Check yes or No would be such a perfect song for y’all to listen to since it’s about childhood sweethearts. My favorites by him are So Much like my Dad and Marina del Ray.
George Strait has such a pure traditional voice this is what country music is supposed to sound like not the new country that all sounds the same often. When you hear a Strait song it hits you in the feels of ya soul. George is a living legend.
Saw King George and Terry Clarke in concert in the late 90's in st. Louis. Such a great concert! No glitz and glamor, just straight great music. And he sounded just as good live as he does on the radio. So did she.
There’s an artist names Scotty McCreary that does a song called “Damn Straight” where he references many George Strait. It’s really neat and worth a listen. The video was taped at Gruene Hall, where George Strait got his start.
"Write This Down" George Strait song I LOVE see yall react too. But "Check Yes or No" and "The Cowboy Rides Away" his farewell tour one fabulous choices too.
You have to get around to Dwight Yoakam who does a great cover of Suspicious Minds. He has other great songs like Fast As You or 1000 miles from Nowhere. He also co-stars in a movie called Sling Blade you must get around to. I’m mentioning all this because George here stars in a movie called Pure Country. You can thank me later (or now will be fine) 😊
@@juliewhite7469 there’s a band called One Less Reason (look them up on UA-cam) that does a stellar cover of Prince’s When Doves Cry. It’s a not an official video but just a still picture type because they didn’t have official videos with them playing back then when they first come out. They have videos you can their songs now though. I love their cover of that song though. The song that got me to really dig them is called Favorite Color. Check it out as well. "Check Yes Or No" or "I Cross My Heart" has to be your next George Strait song. They're his two best songs. "Check" is upbeat and uplifting; "Cross" is a classic country ballad and the theme song from the movie "Pure Country." And for another bonus, when you're ready to check out another great 90s country artist, try "He Didn't Have To Be" by Brad Paisley! (small tearjerker alert)
I love George. Hearing him sing Amazing Grace AFTER his stroke.. Wow. I urge you to listen to Dan Seals.. Many songs to pick from... My favorites are One Friend, I will be there, all that glitters... Really worth a try.. Also Travis Tritt John Berry so many choices... Y'all realize you're gonna be reacting for the next 20 years so we can watch you see all our favorites
IMHO, George Strait is the best and has that pure sound, because that’s who he is. He is a good man. Steady as a rock. My first concert, ever, was when I was about 5 yo and my mom and Grandpa took me to see George Strait. Long live King George!
George has over 50 number 1 hits...check yes or no, troubador, carrying your love with me... could go on and on... oh and she'll leave you with a smile
Love me some George!!! I've seen him in concert several times & he puts on one heck of a show!! He has such a catalog of songs, you can't go wrong picking any of them!
George Strait is an icon in Country music. Always great, memorable songs. This is 1 I haven't heard as much, so thanks for this. If you haven't yet, check out I Cross My Heart from the movie Pure Country. Always enjoy the interpretations you give listening to these songs. You both are fantastic and really enjoy your reaction videos :)
George Straight is to country what Steve Perry is to rock. They are both able to reach the style of music in its purest form. Theres no fluff, no filter, just a man and his guitar singing with all his heart. Its the most beautiful thing that humanity is capable of creating and is why he is the King of Country music.

"Nobody in his right mind would have left her, " what a title. An I get a chill remembering how great it was.
The Chair!
They are definitely all good. 2 of my favorites are "I Got A Car" and "Check Yes Or No".
On the fun side “all my Ex’s live in Texas”
Unwound
George Strait is an OG of country, nobody could ever have been him but him

Plus John Doe from the LA punk band X plays his BFF in that movie! 💜
Jenny, I love that movie! 😊
I love Pure Country!
Such a good movie and sweet love story.
Great Movie - George Strait made me a Country Music Fan again (I walked away after Urban Cowboy AKA Saturday Night Fever with a Side of Grits)
He is respected by a lot of country artists and most look up to him.
He is definately an icon.
Him & Alan Jackson are traditional country.
You need to see the movie Pure Country staring George Strait. Great film and love story. Coming from a non country listener means something. 🤘🤘

Absolutely agree, these are some of my Favorites was well !!!
You can't go wrong with him he has so many good songs we had I Cross My Heart played at our wedding
We did too - it was our first dance!
Blue clear sky, one night at a time, unwound, & fool hearted memory. Four of George's finest.
"Check yes or no" is a cute song and so memorable.
and "The Chair" is one of the best songs too!
KING GEORGE! He has 59 more #1 hits to react to! ❤
George is the GOAT. Some others to hit: “All My Exes Live in Texas”, “Ocean Front Property”, “I Can Still Make Cheyenne”

Baby Blue was written in memory of his 10 year old daughter that died in a car accident they were hit by a drunk driver !
They need to do Alan Jackson's song Remember When
And Randy Travis "Whisper My Name "
You have to do George Strait "The Chair". It's such a "smooth" vibe! 🤠🪑
