I’m starting my MLS program this fall I’m both excited and nervous I’ll be definitely binge watching your videos to get all the tips I need this summer
Thank you for the tips! I’ll be starting my MLS program in the fall and I feel so overwhelmed because it’s only a 1 year program so everything is crammed!
how did you do because im in my first semester doing immunology and lab management. My program is post bacc almost 2 years and Im already struggling with immunology. I work full time which takes away time and energy to study well.
This is so relatable cuz I took my Orgo Chem 2 online during the summer last year and my goodness… like it took me double the time to listen to the lecture too because I had to create my own visual concepts when I was writing my notes just so I had my own unique way of understanding it
Yes! I’m going through this again in grad school, the classes have been so lecture heavy. They break each module up into three 15-20 min segments and it still takes me a couple hours to get through the content 😭🤣
I hope you had a successful fall semester 🤗 I forgot to mention this, but check out Medical Lab Lady Gill's youtube channel. She has detailed videos for a lot of the lab skills
@@BlackGirlLovesAnime6 I passed all my classes (not with A’s but who cares about that), graduated in December 2022 and I’ve been an MLS for 6 months so far.

Thank you so much for these tips! Exams are coming up quick! Haha. I have a question though. Does writing notes on paper still help in studying Anatomy and other MLS subjects? Thanks!
Hey! Thanks for the tips! I'll be starting my program next week and I wanted to ask how specifically you read your textbooks? I'm pretty sure I lean into visual learning (I do better with models and videos) but I can't JUST read a textbook, even if I'm annotating. How would you tackle a chapter, for example? Some methods I've tried over the years include starting at the end to understand what the authors thought was important (via the summaries and the questions they asked) then jump back to the front to go in depth and tackle each subsection like that. Any insights?
Hey! I start reading textbooks by reading through the objectives. I create a study guide for each chapter by taking the chapter objectives and turning them into questions, if that makes sense. And, then I go through the chapter and read/skim subsections to answer the questions. I have studied with textbooks all through college and even now in graduate school. I have found this method to be the most efficient way. Let me know if you try this method and if it’s helpful.
Good luck with lab school. Such an exciting time! Working shouldn’t be too bad with school, I used a planner to keep up with my study and work schedules!
I’m applying to an accelerated mlt program in spring 2023. Are there any subjects you would recommend studying to get ahead right now? I have a baby so it’s going to be tough finding time to study and I want to get ahead. Thanks!
Yes! There’s a book I found helpful on amazon, called “Clinical Laboratory Science” by Mary Turgeon. It goes over an introduction to each subject that you’ll cover in medical lab school!
@@syedafatima5017 mine is at gwu mls post- bacc. classes are online and clinicals are at the end of the program 4 months total. the program is almost 2 years
