      It might! Id love to know if you give it a try. It just depends on the brand. I used beef broth because it had the least amount of additives. Just check for spices and herbs because these ingredients could inhibit microbial growth.

    The deep blue purple of the shampoo looked very nice as a hair color. Thank you for sharing your struggles with R. You are so sharp it helps to know that everyone has an adjustment period when learning difficult material. I dropped a stats class once I realized how much time R would take to learn. Thank you for sharing your day. Wonderful to hear your positive experiences and outlook on life. Will not be trying the sour patch oreos anytime soon.

      I’d love to try colors in the future, I was thinking of a pastel blue or purple if I can get the blonde color light enough. Theres some great resources here on youtube if you ever want to revisit R. I think I’m finally getting the hang of it, but it’s definitely been around 5ish months of practice. I think the book I’m currently using, R for Data Science 2E, has been the most helpful resource. It’s a free online textbook and very easy to read.

    Hey! Thanks for the tips! I'll be starting my program next week and I wanted to ask how specifically you read your textbooks? I'm pretty sure I lean into visual learning (I do better with models and videos) but I can't JUST read a textbook, even if I'm annotating. How would you tackle a chapter, for example? Some methods I've tried over the years include starting at the end to understand what the authors thought was important (via the summaries and the questions they asked) then jump back to the front to go in depth and tackle each subsection like that. Any insights?

    • @domilarae
      @domilarae Місяць тому

      Hey! I start reading textbooks by reading through the objectives. I create a study guide for each chapter by taking the chapter objectives and turning them into questions, if that makes sense. And, then I go through the chapter and read/skim subsections to answer the questions. I have studied with textbooks all through college and even now in graduate school. I have found this method to be the most efficient way. Let me know if you try this method and if it’s helpful.

    Your career goal of 5 years gives me so much hope! My bachelors is in biology and I went to medical laboratory tech program with the air force then challenged to sit for the MLS. I love science ❤

    How do you renew it? Do you take another test?

      @domilarae Місяць тому

      There’s continuing education and fees to keep up with it. But, you don’t have to retake the test

      Yes, basically algebra and statistics. Why are you scared of math?

    The most important thing to remember is,you have to do whatever it is you like doing,sometimes it take some people a while to settle into a career,your still young and have time to find yourself,don’t beat yourself up over this it’s normal

    My gelatin plates are melting at room tempature , how can i avoid this ??

    • @domilarae
      @domilarae Місяць тому

      I honestly think it’s simply increasing the concentration of the gelatin to prevent the melting - but I haven’t tested out my theory. Let me know what works for you!

    Fellow MLS here! Everything you mentioned about feeling stagnant and not having room to grow. I feel that way too! It’s maddening. I am currently thinking about what moves I need to make in order to grow and advance my career so I appreciate your honesty. 😂 “No progression then it’s not a career” 👏

    • @domilarae
      @domilarae Місяць тому

      Yes exactly! It’s a great job and provides stability, but it’s not a bad thing to want to progress. What options have you considered? I’ve been looking into LIS mostly. I was also thinking about HLA, to just do something different in the lab lol

      @@domilarae Yes same here! I am wanting to go back to school or earn certifications so I can enter the healthcare IT industry. Just recently learned that Epic software has courses you can take to become an analyst! It just seems like IT has more flexibility and more opportunities to advance your career.
