Great video Lexie! I am Iraqi and was born in Libya, but I have lived in the United States for the majority of my life. I hope one day soon I'll be able to visit safely. Thankfully, things are looking good as the Civil War in Libya has just recently ended.
I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list! Videos like yours is what inspires me to follow through that plan. Keep it going, I really hope to see one day a video from every single country! I hope your journey is not over. There's so many places to visit within a single country, and when you're against time to visit all of them, I imagine you had to leave a lot of things behind.
As a Libyan 🇱🇾 I feel sad that you had to visit my country in such a situation and you weren't able to see a lot of the country there are a lot more places to see but it is difficult to visit but hopefully the war will finish soon and we will be very happy if you visited us again ❤️🙏🏼 ( with a tourist visa of course 😂)
It's quite sad to hear my country being called a dangerous place. But unfortunately, a civil war is the reason. I don't blame you for that. I just hoped it was in a better time for my country. As a Libyan it's very different. I hope in the future things will be better.
I totally accept what she said that travel is not just having good experiences .... It may be difficult at times and that's what a big lesson we learn ...... And Lexie u have always been my inspiration
Fantastic video! It's great to see this covered because the first question people ask me when the find out where I've been is 'is it safe?' - Also from a production perspective the filming and editing in this one is more dynamic. Well done!
Libya is a very beautiful and multicultural country with a great diversity of civilizations. It is a very ancient country and is full of Roman, Phoenician, Greek, Byzantine, Germanic and even traces of ancient man 10,000 years ago in the Acacus Mountains in southern Libya and also there are many beautiful beaches in the eastern and western regions of Libya, such as The beaches of the Ras Al Hilal area in the Jabal Al Akhdar area, the beaches of Ajdabiya and Sirte in eastern Libya, and the beaches of the ancient city of Sabratha in the Talil area and the city of Zuwara. These beaches are among the most beautiful beaches in the western region of Libya, the waters are very clear and the sand is white, pure and very soft. There is a 4-star resort in the city of Sabratha located in the Talil area called Dar Al-Tilil, which is a joint investment with the State of Tunisia. Foreign tourists from Italy, France and Asian countries used to come to him via Tunisia before 2011, especially the families of foreign ambassadors residing in Libya, and foreign women from European countries were able to swim in swimwear completely freely on the beaches of the city of Sabratha and the city of Zuwarah during the days of the rule of the martyr Muammar Gaddafi, have mercy on him God, but after the arrival of religious extremists from the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood and the princes of the dirty criminal militias supported by Qatar, Turkey, Britain and Italy to rule in Libya everything that was previously permissible during the rule of the martyr Muammar Gaddafi is now forbidden and now forbidden to foreign tourists since 2012 until Today, even wearing a bikini on the beach of the ancient city of Sabratha and its visitors is now prohibited, and all individual freedoms that were permitted before 2011 are now besieged and prohibited, and all this repression and religious extremism is happening with the knowledge of the Government of National Accord.

I remember watching Drew's Libya videos! I remember in his first video for that trip that immigration was quite intense. It is very interesting how you both had to get business visas to be able to go there. I'm glad everything worked out as it looks beautiful there despite what is going on there right now!
I also heard you can get a business visa to Libya by making a charitable contribution. Working as a philanthropist interested in investing in Libya. I haven't done that so don't quote me... But that's my plan for getting in.

How do you know to trust people that guide you etc? To me going to 1 of these kinds of places seems like an incredibly dangerous and difficult task. Please please expand on it. thanks
