    Does anyone know where to get the British Customs (diamond stitched) seat OR the part number?

    • @ScramblerStories
      @ScramblerStories  5 років тому +1

      Seems like they redid their website, but I found them.
      Brown: britishcustoms.com/collections/all/products/slammer-seat-diamond-stitch-brown-liquid-cooled-new
      Black: britishcustoms.com/collections/all/products/slammer-seat-diamond-stitch-black-air-cooled
      Note the URL for the black says air cooled, but it brings up the seat for the liquid cooled models. Assumed that's what you have. Otherwise they have both for the air cooled bikes as well. Just search diamond slammer on their site. You can always call or email them as well. Ken has always been super helpful for me, and he's on a Street Scrambler as well!

    I recently bought the BC Slammer as well, impressed with my interactions with the company as well as the seat itself, also recommend. Definitely higher than OEM, at 6’ tall the extra inch or so allows for a more comfortable knee angle. Incidentally also bought the fender eliminator and rear lights, great looking setup, easy to install for someone mechanically incompetent like myself. One note, not good or bad but the ability to move around the seat due to smoother material and flatter shape took some getting used to. On the plus, water can just be wiped off, no soaking in like OEM.

    So the slammer seat says it’s not compatible with the triumph grab rail. That rail/ luggage rack you have, is that triumph? And did you have any compatibility issues?

    • @ScramblerStories

      My rack is the Triumph one. I think there mentioning of it no working is for the T120, because the rack is a little different. For the Scrambler or the Street Twin it works, but you need to raise the latch underneath the seat with some washers like I explained in the video. Then there is no issue with it.

    I had the BC Slammer Seat on my '19 Street Scrambler and sold it. It was hard as a rock after about 30 minutes of riding. Went back to the Solo Stock seat and had it rebuilt. Seats for the Street Scrambler are hard to find that aren't pure junk. Even custom seats can be crap if the builder has no idea what they're doing with foam and Gel, a pretty seat cover doesn't make a good seat.

    • @ScramblerStories

      It's funny, I like it and have no issues with it. It's not till 400-500+ miles that it starts wearing on me. But recently I was riding from Mass to SC, with my Street Scrambler and my Scrambler 1200, and I friend and I can switching bikes. He really didn't like the BC seat at all. It was his only complaint on the Street Scrambler.

      I felt like the Triumph bench seat was at least the same height as the stock seat, possibly a small amount lower, but I'm not sure. Is the stock seat too high for you? There's a low seat option too.

    I just bought this same seat in black for my 2018 Scrambler. I'm upgrading from the OEM seat that shipped with the bike so I had to relocate the latch to the rear position. Did you have any issue with this relocation? I had to really pull on the cable to get the bolts and holes to line up in the bench seat position. Via your video, I noticed my spring in the latch so much tighter than yours. Did you adjust this in some way to release the tension on the cable? BTW I've enjoyed your videos and they were one of the most influential in the reason I picked a Scrambler. Keep the going.

    • @ScramblerStories
      @ScramblerStories  5 років тому

      Hey Randall, The cable was a tight fit for me as well. I did not adjust anything in the latch though. If I remember correctly I did have to reroute the cable to be more direct to the back of the bike.

      @@ScramblerStories Thanks for the info. Did you consider risers for the bars? I guess coming from the OEM seat to this is not a big change in seat height. Thank you for watching! No part number that I am aware of. There are four variations of the Slammer. There's the ribbed in brown or black, and then the diamond stitched Slammer also in brown or black. Looks like the diamond stitch one is currently not on the website, perhaps out of stock? Check with British Customs and they can probably help make sense of it. • @ScramblerStories
      @ScramblerStories  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Marvin, it's been good. Any seat is going to hurt if you've been sitting all day, but the BC is great. There's two things to consider. One, it has a break in period. Felt pretty hard when I first got it, but after a few rides it broke in. Second, I've made the mistake of too much luggage on the seat while traveling. If you're pushed all the way to the front it's not very comfortable after a few hours. Need to make sure you can scoot back a little to where it's wider on long highway days. Otherwise it's awesome. I still have it on the bike. It's been on for over 30,000 miles at this point.

      It's been a long time since I sat on that one, so hard to compare. I only had it on for a week. The stock seat was comfortable enough, though I didn't take it on any long rides. I had two big problems with the stock seat. One for me was the angle, it pushed me towards the tank, but it's better with my legs to be a little farther back. The second was the pillion pad is crap for a passenger if going on a decent ride. A bench seat was the fix for me. Let's me slide farther back, far more comfortable for the pillion, and I dig the look. Though, I do dig the look of the stock seat with the rack, but Caitlyn rides on the back all the time.

    Bitish customs seat is awful if you are a short rider. If you naturally sit close to the gas tank, I do because I’m short, it’s the HARDEST part of the seat and it doesn’t break in at all. I put 1000 miles , and nothing. Makes my crotch hurt an goes numb after 20 mins....
    the stock seat is super comfy and I love it, how the hell do I get a Bench seat made out of the same material? BTW my British customs is for sale if anyone is looking for one .

    • @ScramblerStories
      @ScramblerStories  3 роки тому

      Yeah the front part is not ideal. You don't scoot back when riding? The problem is probably not the material, but the shape and since it doesn't raise the seat height, perhaps easier for you to sit farther back. Perhaps you can get a custom seat made? Otherwise maybe Corbin has something that would work well for you.
