Thanks for your review. You have had the same exact seat experience as I have except I am a shorter rider. Stock seat - Triumph seat - I was just about to purchase the same BC slammer seat, but you saved me time and $$ with the height comparisons. Great video!
I have the diamond stitch version on my Street Twin. I'm very happy with the comfort, but it does not sit nearly as nicely as the stock seat. It does pop off without the latch being opened. I'm pretty sure this is caused by the stock routing of the brake light cable and it seems to have been sitting on it eventually causing it to short out. Probably not an issue if you've already done some re-routing or removed the rear fender, but something to be careful of.
Hi, I got the seat and loves it! However I find it pretty slippery and putting a lot of work on my arms. It does get better after 20min riding but still not ideal. I am riding with Rev'It overpants. Anyway I could fix that?
Yep, I did a video quite a while back about a spray for goalkeepers gloves that makes the surface tacky, but doesn’t leave residue. Or wear riding jeans 😉
I’ve tried the Motone seat, and they didn’t have any for the Strret Twin when I owned it. There quality is excellent generally, but obviously I can t compare it. The slammer seat was comfortable and well made and it also added a little height which is what I wanted.
Tony, I love your reviews, I just got a Bonneville T120 and I find the stock seat hard for rides over 45 mins. Is the British Customs seat that much more comfortable?
Hi Tony ! Great video ! I currently own the ribbed version of the triumph bench seat, and am considering the British custom for the added comfort. However, the triumph bench seat seems to make a better job at looking more like real leather. What is your opinion on the matter ?
Hi, Thanks for all your videos, so nice :) . I have a question about a seat. I want to change my seat and I hesitate between the flat Triumph seat (that you reviewed on your UA-cam Chanel) and the Crafton Atalier model rambler. Do have same information or review about this seat ?
How is the surface texture regarding being slippery or not? I found a huge issue of being slippery with my JP Vintage aftermarket seat so much so that it made it dangerous with a pillion rider unable to keep positioned. Do you see any issues like that on this or any other bench seat you've tested?
Good question, and one point I didn’t cover. No issues with slipping on this seat at all, it’s nice and grippy. I did find the Triumph one a bit slippery to start with, but that settled down
The BC one is a better finished seat in quality terms. It’s also more comfortable, but some of that may be because it’s taller. Having said that the extra construction makes it heavier
@@mancavemoto I emailed British customs and their reply was that the slammer seat with the diamond stitch does not give because of the cross stitching where the tuck and roll seat is more forgiving and comfortable. That was something I never thought about that would make such a difference the cross stitching acts like a net and makes the seat even firmer than it was intended. I wish they put this info out there so we could be more informed. now i'm not sure if I made the right decision between the B/C and the Royal King & Queen.
Thanks for posting this. I got the same seat in brown for my SS 2018. Do you happen to know if I could fit the original Triumph luggage rack? PART NUMBER: A9758179 can't find that info and don't want to buy if it's not going to fit. Thanks
Check out scramblerstories on UA-cam, he fits the brown seat with the triumph luggage rack using a couple of washers...I am in the same boat with my 2019 SS
This seat is crazy expensive! In Spain, I can get 2 Triumph OEM seats for the price of one BC. It’s around 600€. To put it in perspective...imagine paying 700$ !!! for a motorcycle seat.

Thanks Tony, but have you tried any other cafe styled seats? I’ve been shopping for other seats that fit the ST and am about to settle on the Street Cup seat just to lean toward the cafe racer look. Sure, I could just bought a Street Cup in the first place but what’s done is done. 😋
I know the Street Cup seat is a straight swap, and I was originally thinking of fitting one, but its pretty much the same profile of the stock one so wouldnt have helped me. I've also reviewed a JP Vintage seat. Motone will have a few new ones coming soon, which could be interesting
www.omegaracer.com/parts_store I ended up here and purchased the “Rocker TTR STYLE”... for 500 CAD. Delivers from Thailand. Chose Air delivery : 80$ Got the Dark Night w/ Diamond stitch & only GEL for rider. Don’t have to many pillions. Save 60$ CAD vs 120$ for both I have the Matte Black 2016 model & I detest the stock seat. I do have a honey arse tho. Lol
Hi Tony, great to see a vid on the ST again. It's been a while! Lol . Great vid. Would love to have a bench seat as same for me, I find stock is really uncomfortable after a while. But they are just so bloody expensive. Maybe do a little cheeky competition to win that now unused triumph bench seat ? 😉🤔😜( just a thought ) wink wink nudge nudge 😉😉😉
Thanks Lee, yep its been a while sadly, but i've been busy trying to find a new job! Now theres and idea......but i'm not ready to give up my beloved bench seat just yet.... watch this space though ;)
Hi Tony, now that you are in love with bc bench seat maybe you’d be interested in selling me your down and out single seat and rack! Had my eye on that since your vid a few months back... cheers.
No worries. So, out of all the seats you've ever tested, which would you say is the most comfortable and/or the best! I have 3 seats so far, but I'm still not sure I've found the right one.
I bought the quilted version of the British Customs seat and it's the worst motorcycle seat I've sat on in the past 30 years. It was like sitting on a brick. It was absolutely terrible. I returned it after one short ride. I now have the quilted Triumph brand bench seat, which is much better.
I have the Ural stepped bench seat and it sits fine, sometimes I have to shift back pretty far so I think I'm going to take off the cover and level off the seat and add some foam and gel. I just found a decent upholstery service and I want to have them put a diamond pattern on it. www.crawfordsales.info/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/P2130096-bench-seat.jpg
I've chosen the diamond stitch from BC rather than the OEM one cos it goes lower on the sides and the whole thing looks, less frail. It's crazy cos before changing the seat I had a huge envy to change a lot of things, and once the seat style went from sporty to cafe, I didn't feel the urge to modify it too much... Gotta say the BC seat is crazy expensive, i had to have it shipped here in France, it went up to 500€ cos i got fined 100€ at customs. In any case it's the same price as a French BC retailer...
Lloyd Grace - get it via a U.K. distributor, BC or amazon. You'll pay international postage fees, but you might get away with no customs fine. And as I said, seat+postal+fine is the same price as what the French distributor I had found is asking for
Thanks for your review. You have had the same exact seat experience as I have except I am a shorter rider. Stock seat - Triumph seat - I was just about to purchase the same BC slammer seat, but you saved me time and $$ with the height comparisons. Great video!

Hey. Thanks for the review. Is the stitching on this saddle waterproof do you know? That's a drawback of the Crafton-atalier seat apparently. Thanks.
Not that I know of

Interesting, cheers Brian
Great review! I’m about 6 foot 5 inches, would you say the higher seat height would be better for me?
Been thinking this seat over since you published this vid, and ordered it today, thanks Tony!
Nice!
Just picked one up in the brown diamond stitch for my T120 Black. It is very expensive but it’s definitely top quality in its form and function.
No doubting the quality

Yep, I did a video quite a while back about a spray for goalkeepers gloves that makes the surface tacky, but doesn’t leave residue. Or wear riding jeans 😉
Thanks for the video! How is the confort of the backseat rider?
Never had a passenger on it! so sorry i can't help with that, although I can't see tht it would be any different than the rider
Hi, am deciding between this and the Motone Krait. Any idea on the difference between the two? Thanks!
I’ve tried the Motone seat, and they didn’t have any for the Strret Twin when I owned it. There quality is excellent generally, but obviously I can t compare it. The slammer seat was comfortable and well made and it also added a little height which is what I wanted.
Appreciate your work, Tony. Thanks for the reply!

Thanks, yes I thought it was much better
Thanks for the review! I just got the brown one for my Street Twin. Feel great and looks great with the aluminum silver tank.
Nice!
I've got the silver tank & am trying to decide between black and brown, do you have any photos? Thanks
Hi buddy. Wondering if you are still using this seat? Do you know any UK distributers of these as BC seem to be totally sold out. Cheers.
I don't have the bike any longer. Mine came straight from BC, i'm not sure they have a UK distributor? but someone may be able to correct me on that?
@@mancavemoto thanks mate. Don't have the bike anymore? Did I miss that or is that very recent change.?

However, the triumph bench seat seems to make a better job at looking more like real leather. What is your opinion on the matter ?
I don’t think they look too different and to be fair most people know they are not leather anyway 😉
Thanks for your reply !
I’ll consider the purchase !!
Great review! Can any of these seats aside from the stock one fit with the Triumph Black Luggage Rack A9758179?
no idea sorry
It fits on The Street Scrambler? Nice review, thanks
Yes, but Only if you use the rear latch

Hows the longterm review!!
I no longer own the bike, but it was a fantastic seat
I just got mine today and I feel that its hard as a Rock! Is there a break in period?
it will soften a little as you use it. I find firmer seats tend to be more comfortable on long journeys than squishy soft ones

Its been a much debated issue. I never tried to fit one, but others have and there does need to be a little bit of modification i understand.
Check out scramblerstories on UA-cam, he fits the brown seat with the triumph luggage rack using a couple of washers...I am in the same boat with my 2019 SS
How long did the install take? I am curious because I just bought one for my street scrambler :)
The install of the seat?
Views from the Man Cave yep, the install of the seat...
@@robscherer Literally seconds on the Street Twin, but a few minutes on the Street Scrambler if you need to relocate the latch
Is there a British customs imported in uk Tony,
The only place I can find to order online in the UK was Squaredeals. Mine was shipped from the US
will this fit a Street scrambler?
Yes, as long as you relocate the release mechanism to the rear most location.
I got this seat Excellent, I love it. Makes a huge difference. 👍🏼
Great to hear!
Its a shame we don´t have this option (yet!) in Brazil...
I'm sure BC would ship to Brazil....
Did a little research and the taxes and other costs makes it too expensive...

If I could only get one of these to fit my 06 Ural Tourist.

Interesting point, I didn’t know the diamond pattern seat was different. Yes the import tax can be a problem, they need a European distributor
Views from the Man Cave - oh no they have one. The French distributor has the seat at the same price as when I bought in the U.K.+shipping+fine

filmdetective I earn in € so may work out ok for me from French distributor! Do you remember the name of the company so I can check please?
If they halved the price they would sell twice as many.
But would make the same money....
Very nice. I see you have a bit of a seat fetish going on..LOL
Haha yes I have a problem.....
Don't doubt it's comfortability, but looks akin to an armadillo on steroids!
