Blue+Purple=BLURPLE 😂 You inspired me with your drum carding vids lately. I have a hand crank Fancy Kitty DC. I pulled it out last weekend & blended up two sock spins. 1 mix of blues & grays with some silk sari roving, 1 bluey green blend with bamboo/nylon. Can’t wait to start spinning them, but gotta finish a diff project with a deadline first
I'm really glad you're making videos with the clemes and clemes! I feel like when i was researching (i ended up getting the convertable) i just couldn't find a many videos on them as the other brands. I know you don't get paid extra (and this isn't your title, except for in my head), but i think you're an amazing brand ambassador lol
lol! Thanks! I have never seen an online demo for Clemes &Clemes carders, but I have talked to Roy every MD Sheep and Wool for years! Every time he would do a demo. I have other spinning tools from them and they are top notch. I think there aren’t many videos because it is a high end carder. And most people aren’t willing to wait 6-8 months or more to receive it. It took me 4 years to take the plunge! Stay tuned- I have some textured batts coming up! Wait to see how I am doing it with the sharpened tines!
You are rocking it with your new drum carder. That batt is just gorgeous. I'm hoping you'll video spinning it - I'd love to see how your transform the batt into yarn. harpingJanet
That is just beautiful and looks so cozy! Not sure if you have done it yet since I’m new here but can you show how to spin a contrasting batt? My fiber bestie gifted me a couple beautiful batts that are blue and orange with firestar and I’m not sure how to spin them up. I’m good with a barber pole look. I just want to do them justice.
I do have videos on how to spin batts. The video that you would likely find most useful is called how to spin a batt three ways. If you go to my channel homepage select playlist, the videos are organized by category, and most recent to oldest. It will be under “spinning” category. Enjoy!
Cedar Hill Fiber Farm. She didn’t list a website, but she is a vendor in WAFA(wool and fiber arts community) on FB. She just had a baby so she might be on hiatus.
Beautiful,, was it my imagination but did that batt end up shinier than the original fibers?? You chose super wash for socks that you will hand wash is there some reasoning behind that ?
It’s not your imagination the mohair locks make it shiny! The reasoning is you shouldn’t make socks from yarn spun from carded fiber because it will pill and wear out fast. With superwash that won’t happen. I always hand wash all of my knit items. It’s my personal preference. Plus the mohair in the blend is not superwash. If you want socks you can put in the washer just card superwash only. 😀
Thanks for showing and talking about superwash! And the color of those locks-ooh la la!!
You are so welcome!
beautiful- love the colors!
Thank you so much!

And it is spinning up like a dream! I am going to make a bunch more SW blends!
NOOICE - that turned out great
Thank You!😊

Oh my gosh that looks super soft and pretty. Are you making socks for yourself?
Probably. I love hand knit socks! I am already thinking of a cable pattern that I made for my daughter and I think it will work with this fiber!
@@jkfiberarts oh that's so nice. I love hand knit socks too!
Mens sock please. 😊
Shoe size 13
I looked up Cedar Farms and got a bunch in different places. Which are you referring to?
I'm in the WAFA group, so checked for you. It's cedarhillfiberfarm
