You will love this! It is so fun and it feels like it goes so fastI will get your order out later this afternoon( when I get home from work)! Thank you!! 🙏🏻
Thanks! My husband got it for me at Lowe’s. It’s a 1/8” metal rod that came 3’ length and he cut it to make it 18” and electrical taped the cut end to make sure I don’t pull the marked end through just in case there is a rough spot.
Gorgeous!! Somehow I don't think it would have been a real bummer if you have to make a whole other round because your battery died 🤣 I would love to try a fractal spin during Tour de Fleece. Do you take color requests or special orders 😬?
Absolutely take custom orders! If you go to my website on the homepage select “Custom Shop” tell me what you want and I will make it happen! Thank you so much for yesterday! I plan on weaving the afternoon away today! Thank you for putting in so many hours with me yesterday!! I can’t wait to see how you spin your batt!
Please can you tell me how to calculate the WPI for a single Iam going to ply to make a specific weight eg Aran. I believe if I want a final WPI of 8 it isn’t two singles of 16 WPI! Hope that makes sense. Wondered if there was a calculation ?
Yes! There is a calculation, but it also depends on the fiber and the fiber prep. I assume from your question your are 2-plying. The standard rule is 1.5 times the WPI for 2-ply but I have never found that works for me. I would recommend you do a test a spin and finish the yarn to see if you get your WPI before embarking on a big project. I use an average from an article at School Of Sweet Georgia. 😂 what is this dental floss?? How does the burnishing brush not destroy it 🤯. In non-traditional carding tools, I recently tried using my CURLING IRON to pull off rolags and it worked like a charm. Doesn’t cause the S in the middle of the roll like the metal rod does. Made an instagram reel about it and will be buying a narrow, long-barrel curling iron to adapt to the purpose!
As long as it’s long enough it doesn’t mess it up. I had one early on that was too short and it caught the burnishing brush and pulled it out. It was ok. That’s why I put 5-6 across.
Love the blue tones ❤
These are gorgeous!
Thank you!😊
Very, very interesting!!! Spinning this fiber is going to be such fun! harpingJanet
It will! Stay tuned!
I just ran and bought a kit! Im so excited to try this prep. I love 3ply fractal yarns but i dont ever take the time to plan it out.

Love the dental floss trick! May I ask where you got the metal “stick” for making rolags? Love your videos ❤
