Truth be told, I’d watch Rachel give a tutorial on grass growing. That said, as always, she and Dan do a simple and thorough job of highlighting what is what on manuals, as they do on any subject tackled. What I wouldn’t give to have these two as my local mechanics for keeping my old tractors in tip top shape. As I've stated before, I'd love to see her do a book on the early post WWII Ford tractors. As an oh by the way, a 1951 Massey Harris Pony just joined my collection and hope that she and and Dan can go over general maintenance on one at some point.
We just moved to Goodrich, MI, and have a small farm off Dutch Road. We stopped by the Steiner store in Lennon, Mi, and boy were we disappointed in the rudeness of its sales staff. My husband took a picture of me sitting in the store and the sales clerk said there's no taking photos inside the store! He further went on to say they signed legal documentation to prevent photos from being taken. We were berated and made to feel shame... (We won't be going back there again, and they should have a sign that says no cameras allowed!). Shame on Steiner.
Rachel is so sweet, intelligent and well spoken. I have a modern utility tractor that has nothing to do with this channel but I love the father daughter / family collaboration and hard work. (I do learn a few things too!) Dan, you must be so proud of her.
Those manuals are essential if you buy an old Farmall. I have 3 for my 140. Grandpa had a 1955 Cub that a cousin of mine now has and we still have the original red owner's manual for it. I've used all of them numerous times.
I have all of these manuals including Rachel's lovely book to keep my 1940 Farmall B company and you are so right: I look at them all of the time. thanks for everything that you share with the people
I bought the farmall cub book from your site written by Rachel and Ken and i dont even own a cub….yet! Great read and educational for what i hope to be a cub purchase soon. Thanks.
I own a 1968 Ford 5000. Finding the proper manual is not easy. I have 5 different manuals at this point. The first was a 3rd party manual. It was good for the basic overhaul. I then picked up the Owner's Manual reprint which I did learn some things as the maint section had some info that the 3rd party book did not. 3rd manual was purchased when I was looking for more information on the carburetor. Even with the book, it was your video on Ford's Holley carbs that helped me the most (Thank you!!!!) 4th and 5th manuals came about when I was trying to diagnose and fix what I thought was the PTO not disengaging. Both are Ford reprints, but while the 4th had a nice diagram of the hydraulic clutch system that operates the PTO, the text wasn't enough detail. Finally, I found #5. This monster 900+ page, 2 binder color reprint is AWESOME. It goes into extreme detail on everything. For example, it provides a 5 page section on how to verify your thermostat is operating properly, complete with an out of engine test setup. The same detail exists for nearly every component. There is a schematic for the Proof Meter and details exactly what components are there. AND... There is a very detailed section on the PTO. It was with the help of this manual that I realized that the brake band was bad on my machine. I'll have to open up the top cover to repair it, but I learned enough about the system to not worry about it. Yes, there is a danger that you can have the PTO spin when not engaged, but knowing and simply making sure you don't go near it with the engine running is good information. Seems that once the fluids are warm, most PTO implements will stop simply due to the load they represent, but again, knowing there is some PTO torque there is important. I can't explain enough how important it is with older iron to look carefully for the right manual depending on how deep your dive into the mechanics is going to be. Love your videos, love your store. Always check your store first when I need parts. I only wish you carried more for my machine. (^_^) You guys should write a book like the Farmall for the 1960's era Fords. There are a lot of these old beasts still out there working hard. I just used mine this past weekend to blow snow from my 1/4 mile long gravel driveway. I posted this video last year: ua-cam.com/video/mUEXlHh1voY/v-deo.html Also, if you love the Blue Fords, here is a great old video: ua-cam.com/video/asea8ZFm-JQ/v-deo.html
I have ordered parts through there website. Parts are shipped fast and a fair price. I will continue to do business through them. I wish they were closer so I could let them go through my tractor.
Dan, time to transition off camera and dedicate yourself to promoting Rachel's solo career. Both of you will benefit. She is talented and can sell anything. Expand her reach to tools, trades, and goods in general. She could be the female Mike Rowe and I'll bet he would help her do it. Wishing you both every success. Thanks for all the great information over the years. I have Rachel's Farmall book on my shelf and really enjoyed it.
Do you carry the same type of manuals for some 2 cyl. Tractors? I believe the same ideals on the manuals but some of the operators manuals for the 2 cylinders are difficult to get.

Thanks once again for your insightful video. I've always been partial to parts books. They're as useful in the tear down process as in the reassembly. I have 14.9GB containing 1,728 manuals on my PC. They're mostly Ford (hold your nose and say New Holland. Don't gag when you read Fiat) and a smattering of other brands. Some are copyrighted and some can be reprinted. I'll send you an email to see if you'd like a copy of the entire file. My email is the same as my ID here.
o my... if a guy was to date a girl like Rachel in high school and said the car won't run... Mmmm, big mistake. 🥺 she would under the hood fixing it. 👩🏭🛠 happy 2022 🥳🤩
