@Daniel - I finally got this...i am using a custom WGS 50 watt Reaper 55Hz speaker with a 12AU7 in V1, a Marshall ECC83S in V2, a JJ ECC83MG in V3 and a JJ 5751 in V4 with a Maxon era TS-9
just sold mine 3 months ago. I'll always miss that one. It had good gain at all volumes and really opened up with a good speaker. First I had the Celestion 12" Alnico Gold and it was pretty effin' phenomenal. But the speaker was a bit pricey for that amp so I found a 75w Creamback that worked outstanding as well and although it didn't have the harmonics and clarity of the Celestion Alnico (nothing does) it really nails down the midrange for what ever blues/rock/hard rock/metal style you come up with. It makes the guitar sing. Like I said... I always miss that one.
I have an old TSL60 combo (like a DSL but triple channel and from the early 2000's) and the speaker sounds pretty bad, but it sounds great when I hook it up to my cab. I'm looking into a speaker to replace the original one because I want to be able to use the combo haha.
I just got one of those Behringer TO800s and man, back to back to back with my TS9 and TS808, honestly I like the Behringer better 😅 And I'm seriously considering one of these amps now that they're so dirt cheap on sale! Great video, by the way.
Digging the tone man! Is your boost hitting the front of the amp, or do you have it in the loop? If you're boosting the front end, do you have the loop bypassed? Regardless I'm liking what you got out of the DSL40C. Too many videos are hit and miss here on UA-cam and since my shop doesn't have any Marshall amps, I've been listening closely to this amp since 2012 lol. Here you did great though!
The boost was out front the effects loop was bypassed. This amp sounds great you wouldn't be disappointed. My main issue with it was the cabinet is MDF, wish they used birch ply for it. Since the video I got a new bass and have some better riffs built up, however, I am out of money and ideas! That and I went all digital with a POD and using plugins to record.
Hii! I love this tone bro... after my Line 6 sider , this gonna be a killer amp in my bedroom... also what tuning you used on your guitar? I wanna learn this song ;)
