      Its for safety reasons. With crocs you won't be grounded, so in case anything happens with the amp, the current wont go through your body. Kirk Hammet and James Hetfield were wearing crocs for pretty much their whole Metallica career!

      Chris S. y'all got me. To be honest they were 10 bucks in an online sale, figured I'd wear them around the house and nobody'd ever see them... then every time I record a video I forget to take them off.. not very metal haha

    just sold mine 3 months ago. I'll always miss that one. It had good gain at all volumes and really opened up with a good speaker. First I had the Celestion 12" Alnico Gold and it was pretty effin' phenomenal. But the speaker was a bit pricey for that amp so I found a 75w Creamback that worked outstanding as well and although it didn't have the harmonics and clarity of the Celestion Alnico (nothing does) it really nails down the midrange for what ever blues/rock/hard rock/metal style you come up with. It makes the guitar sing. Like I said... I always miss that one.

    Digging the tone man! Is your boost hitting the front of the amp, or do you have it in the loop? If you're boosting the front end, do you have the loop bypassed? Regardless I'm liking what you got out of the DSL40C. Too many videos are hit and miss here on UA-cam and since my shop doesn't have any Marshall amps, I've been listening closely to this amp since 2012 lol. Here you did great though!

    • @danielsnorton
      @danielsnorton  7 років тому +1

      The boost was out front the effects loop was bypassed. This amp sounds great you wouldn't be disappointed. My main issue with it was the cabinet is MDF, wish they used birch ply for it. Since the video I got a new bass and have some better riffs built up, however, I am out of money and ideas! That and I went all digital with a POD and using plugins to record.

    Great tone! The speaker change worth it ? I'm considering to buy one of these DSL40C to play mostly hard rock and Black Sabbath.

      the 70/80 speaker is good, but not this good. if you're recording i would upgrade it. if you're not, i'd keep the 70/80 speaker.
