Does he make 900,000 a year, or does he have 900,000 a year in sales? Because your thumbnail says he makes 900,000 a year. There's a massive difference.
Your numbers aren't adding up. If your margins are 60%, that means 18 employees AND all overhead expenses shared the remaining 40% (30k). If you had no expenses and split that 30k between employees, That's less than 1700 each for an entire month. But you do have expenses such as vehicle maintenance, fuel, cleaning supplies etc. So either you pay your employees peanuts or your margins are more like 20%. OR you don't have nearly as many employees as you say and the 75k revenue number for that month is an outright lie.
I call BS on his numbers. His company is not making almost a mill. And his employees are not pulling in $1500 a week. I have a mobile detailing business and as an owner I pull in $2,000 a week
What is more alarming to me is how you couldn't see this was a load of B.S. from the click bait title. Furthermore, you decided to watch the click bait, gather data on it, and then take the time to outline it all, as if the troll, scam artist was ever going to explain or rationalize it to you. The real travesty is that there are even stupider people than you who will actually give this scumbag money and it's legal.
Do the math with the numbers he quoted is this video and you'll know this business owner is outright lying. Nothing straight up about him at all. Just a young kid that hopes you can't think for yourself.
I think this video displays that their course will have significant information that will just ultimately save you possibly “endless” hours of taking your established solo gig and transforming it into a company efficiently and swiftly. I’m def gonna bookmark this video and their course.
Marketing and heart are really what it takes to run a successful business! Caring about what you do is essential, marketing is only secondary to passion, so whatever your's is, chase it and don't take no for an answer! : )
How do the 60% margins work?? 30% direct labor (commissions), ~5%marketing, ~15% overhead salaries (not including owner). Those 3 are already 50%, not even including operating costs (materials, vehicles etc.)…
I am trying to get to this level. Once i get to this level I want to open a new business which is security. I love watching you guys, I am always getting inspired watching you guys!
I know I've been lurking for a while now but as always I enjoy your videos. Him being a tad bit older than me just motives me to do a lot more throughout the day. He's such a big entrepreneurial-oriented person. I like his mindset and how he manages his business. Way to go to him. This video was spectacular and super insightful. Definitely one of the best you've ever put out. I think I just had a pretty solid idea on how he could improve his business. He said he updates his clients pretty frequently by calling them. Why not just make an app that shows where their cars are at, if they're being washed, how much longer they should wait till they get their cars back and all that. What do you guys think about it? It would be way may more efficient, much more user-friendly and less time-consuming. He should also start a UA-cam channel as well. It would be such a money maker for sure. Something else I've been thinking about is how you guys can improve this channel and make a little bit more money with it. Have you ever considered the idea of making a course on how to start from the ground up, how to start any business, not just a specific one. Me being 19 years old and still not going to college doesn't help me a lot. I would love to start a business of mine but I know for a fact I would be better off working on site and then kind of grow from there. Any tips on how to get started? I have ideas, but I'm afraid to implement them. With that being said, have a nice day guys and keep this channel on fire, because it has helped me shift my mindset so much.
Thank you for the feedback Dario. As always we appreciate your spectacular comment. 😀 The wonderful thing about being in business rather its owning a business or working for a business is that each day is a change to learn and grow. Many of the business owners on our channel started off working for someone else and was able to transition to self employment through their working experiences. We're so happy the story inspired you and was relatable. We think you have a bright future ahead and always have such great ides. We love the idea about creating a course and we think this would be so helpful to many of our viewers. I wonder if that 60% profit margin is all made up bullshit intending to manipulate people into buying his course. Which, based on other peoples accounts is a complete scam and doesn’t deliver whatsoever.
My guess is he’s being slightly dishonest with his numbers because he’s trying to sell a course. Every grifter selling a course is chalk full of fall claims and dishonest marketing. Not saying this guys a scammer but as a rule of thumb, be weary of anyone selling courses.
very organized, very reputable business model overall. i am impressed,. However, IMO hiring detailers as independent contractors with no insurance or benefits to do a detail and receive a 30% commisiion is basically undermining the potential of and individual detailers wealth. considering im an owner operator, and charge essentially the same price, i make three times more that these commisioned detailers, and im not in a rush to get cars in and out either. i can spend a lot more time giving my clients thourough and meticulous results imstead of trying to rush through 3 vehicles a day to make $300 at a 30% commission rate. i agree about the googlr my business route is perfect for detailers
This has always been my argument to other detailers. Although, I would love to see a mobile detailing company scale nationwide. I don’t think it is doable. Mainly because of finding high quality detailers who are reliable and care about quality over quantity. It is like finding a needle in haystack. They are out there, but most are running their own business or working in a shop. Not working in the harsh weather conditions.
that is exactly why I started detailing on my own. I can make 3 times as much working for myself while doing the same job as working for somebody else. detailing is hard work. especially hard to do a standout job very quickly. that's why a lot of detail shops put out sub par work. all their employees work super hard and are always under the gun on time. I can spend a lot more time on my customers details and put out an amazing product and make great money. The hardest part is stability.
Woah there, young skipper. $75k per month (on the high end, so not a conservative estimate) - 60% profit = $30k for materials, equipment and labor, including $3.5k for marketing. Is the commission not included in the total? Something is not right using the numbers you gave for paying your people ($1500-2500 every two weeks from commission and tips, no hourly). $30k split between 18 people is less than $2k PER MONTH.... So either your people must be racking in the tips, you don't really know or didn't say the true numbers, or your business is hemorrhaging money...
I'd love for him to address this. I love how this is the only comment UPFLIP and the detail business HAVEN'T answered in the comments. the silence is extremely telling. CRICKETS CRICKETS CRICKETS..................
Hear me out...they’re lying. I’m al for promoting business I have a mobile detail business myself but 75k a month? You couldn’t pick a more realistic number?
@@1pimpguy it depends on location. He lives in an area where the cost of living is actually high. Therefore, it is definitely possible. I don’t think people factor in certain things like location when they make certain comments. In places like NYC and LA and Portland are high cost of living places. Now if he was down south in a town like mine, it would definitely be unrealistic. It would be a lot less than that because no one is going to pay a high price for detailing because the cost of living is way cheaper.
This only applies to countries like U.S since water is there cheaper than in most parts of europe etc. Also the supply and accomodation for washing the cars in there costs here minimum 1.5k monthly. So idk whats this 500 starters money about but for U.S its cool. For us here we need more professional business plan where everything is expensive and super high taxes.
Not sure id let anyone near my car if they are not using foam and getting the surface wet first I will need to look at that solution that was mentioned which i would guess is great for dusty cars as long as they are not too dirty.
REASONS WHY I DID NOT, buy the course. 1. Webpage did not mention training on car exteriors. 2. Webpage did not mention handling of finances. 3. No thorough overview video regarding value I get. Watch free YT videos or purchase your program.
$75,000 x 60% is $45000. So $35000 covers 18 employees, trucks, chemicals, advertising, insurance, rent. Etc. To put that into perspective, 18 people making just $3000/mo is $54000. So either everyone's making $1000/mo, or profits are closer to 10%
Can't overstate how important having the right perspective is! Passion and hard work will only get you so far, you have to also know where you're headed and how you plan on getting there.
@@godetailsupport1246 Hey man truly inspiring. I am not in the detail space, but I run a roll off rental and junk removal company here and I am needing help with SEO GMB and site build. Could you help with that?

1 or 2 car a day and thinking about going big? God, I was thinking like 5-6. Here where I live shops do a lot of cars a day with typically only 2 people. And non of them are super-duper rich
I love seeing people create businesses out of a passion. Having done that with my channel, it’s possible if you can find a niche and what you’re good at!
60% profit? Gross or Net? he said off the Bat 33% goes to labour , if you add office, marketing, chemicals & supplies, gas, How is that 7%? , even if you pay your office people 18 dollars an hour x 8 hours x 4 guys times 5 days a week = is $150K minimum, we didn't include over time or underproduction from time off and sick time. lol
Get advice from CPA, Tax Attorney or Enrolled Agent on reporting workers as self-employed vs employee. Misclassification of workers.can be costly mistake for payroll tax obligations with IRS and State Tax Agencies.
I watched some of this video do I get a tip? A job that thinks that would require a customer to give a tip thinks the customers need to pay them more because they keep the price low
Quick question. What do you do if you show up to detail/wash a customer car at a specific time and place and they are not there or are late by a significant amount of time, is there a charge for that?
60% profit margin? Can you help me understand this? 30% commission. How is your business able to grow and maintain off 10%? Also, how are people happy working for 30%? Before I started my company I was managing a friends company. He gave me 50% and our prices were comparable at an average of 90$/hr shop rate reference. I was making about 30/hr at end of day. 2-3 cars a day. And I was overworking myself to obtain that 30/hr. My question is how do you spin this?
So, five hundred can get you a lot as far as starting equipment, but I wouldn't start without a Llc, whatever local business license, and at least shop keeper's insurance. You get out there and scratch or otherwise damage a car, you will seriously regret not having those.
a lot of these comments are more worried about the numbers when there is a lot more valuable information to get from this video. please ask better questions for more knowledgeable information.
What I’m thinking is if he’s no longer using foam cannons then he’s realistically only needing to fill up 3 buckets of water. 2 for he body one for the wheels. O.N.R. Is a waterless wash. So that also can be how he’s been able to expedite his details.
You can tell the customer that the detail cost would go up significantly if they would like us to come back with gallons of our own water because that would make our auto insurance go up, we would charge for water delivery, and liability. Always say it is an option and name a ridiculous price, if they say yes, then you have to go get the water cause the price would be worth it lol, and if they say no then hey, no harm no foul.
Damn this guy got his shit together. Well spoken, down to earth.. Been on the fence of going detailing business route. But I'm in Europe and weather really sucks here most of the time.

I love this guy's business approach and acumen but I have some serious issues with his detailing methods. You NEED the soaps and chemicals as lubricants when you wash. He is also using quick clay bar which shouldn't be used often and although it leaves a glass like finish it is a micro abrasive that overtime and with overuse, it will just leave more imperfections. Also, the de ionized water alone should have fixed the water spotting problems. This is a great business model but the claim of being 40% faster than the competition is not impressive after finding out the process.

He's inflating his numbers to sell more online courses.
I call BS on his numbers. His company is not making almost a mill. And his employees are not pulling in $1500 a week. I have a mobile detailing business and as an owner I pull in $2,000 a week
This right here, 75k x 30% is 22,500 / 18 employees is 1,250 a month per employee. This does not add up
@@skycaptain95 yup
What is more alarming to me is how you couldn't see this was a load of B.S. from the click bait title. Furthermore, you decided to watch the click bait, gather data on it, and then take the time to outline it all, as if the troll, scam artist was ever going to explain or rationalize it to you. The real travesty is that there are even stupider people than you who will actually give this scumbag money and it's legal.
Westside detail is the first to pop up if u search for detailing in Portland. You are like the 6th one. You have to scroll down in order to see it.

Amazing how you can make a ton of money with the correct marketing in place! 🚀
Marketing and heart are really what it takes to run a successful business! Caring about what you do is essential, marketing is only secondary to passion, so whatever your's is, chase it and don't take no for an answer! : )
Very true Dayana. 😀👍Thank you for stopping by today. Are you new to the channel?
How do the 60% margins work?? 30% direct labor (commissions), ~5%marketing, ~15% overhead salaries (not including owner). Those 3 are already 50%, not even including operating costs (materials, vehicles etc.)…
Yeah he’s full of shit haha
True, 60% of 75k is $45k. So all expenses including labor, material etc $30k? He said a team of 18. Is everyone earning $1500 a month???
This channel rocks. One of the best on UA-cam. Provides a lot of value to the watcher
I am trying to get to this level. Once i get to this level I want to open a new business which is security. I love watching you guys, I am always getting inspired watching you guys!
Best of luck and thanks for watching! Security is definitely an interesting industry.
Make sure you keep us up to date with your business progress and let us know what other questions you have along the way!?😀👍⭐

He should for real get the van modified with a detail skid mount to decrease setup time at a mobile detail.
I wonder if that 60% profit margin includes income from the coaching program the dude mentioned about 75 times in this video??
I wonder if that 60% profit margin is all made up bullshit intending to manipulate people into buying his course. Which, based on other peoples accounts is a complete scam and doesn’t deliver whatsoever.
😂
Can you please explain the numbers? 30% for labor and 60% for profit. I’m having a hard time seeing this size business run itself on 10%.
He doesnt even foam the cars and uses the clients water and electric. Very low costs and likely subpar work
My guess is he’s being slightly dishonest with his numbers because he’s trying to sell a course.
You could pull close to these numbers if you did two ceramic coatings or about 8 complete details per day 365 days per year.
Great show, but the link does not work for the coaching program thanks.
Don’t be mistaken, the way you make 900,000k a year is by making UA-cam videos that contribute 850,000k a year
That's a really high estimate 😅
This whole thing doesn’t smell right to me. Smells like a fake it till you make it operation
Man this guy questions are so spot on i love it so much detail ❤️
How would one survive in the winter season?
Best part about this episode? The puppy!!!!
Would be curious to hear more details about the commission structure and finding the right people to do the job.
60% profit after all other costs is a bit of a stretch i think. Either his guys are working for peanuts or the true profits are not as high
@@arleneaugustahair8393 lol I live and run my business in Cental Cali. Lol cost of living is plenty high here.
So either everyone's making $1000/mo, or profits are closer to 10%
Ayy my thoughts too!
Maybe he has a lot of part time? IDK if he is hiring students anymore

Quick question. What do you do if you show up to detail/wash a customer car at a specific time and place and they are not there or are late by a significant amount of time, is there a charge for that?
Hey, there is a problem with the link to Adams coaching program when you fix it please let me know.
Do you explain to each customer why you don't use any form of soap? Might be confusing they are paying for a service that doesn't happen
What was the liquid Alan is using? O and R? Onar?
ONR: Optimum No Rinse, wash and shine.
In a good economy, yes.
Hey @nickvin7447 , you can make money in any economy!
@@UpFlip you can, but in a good economy people splurge on luxury purchases like detailing. (Former professional detailer)

So, five hundred can get you a lot as far as starting equipment, but I wouldn't start without a Llc, whatever local business license, and at least shop keeper's insurance. You get out there and scratch or otherwise damage a car, you will seriously regret not having those.
Just get the LLC and Insurance. In GA, the insurance that I chose is $41.66 per month and cover’s potential damages to customers vehicles.

Do customers give you any pushback on cost, when using their water source? If so, how do you market that? And how do you assess the cost
What I’m thinking is if he’s no longer using foam cannons then he’s realistically only needing to fill up 3 buckets of water. 2 for he body one for the wheels. O.N.R. Is a waterless wash. So that also can be how he’s been able to expedite his details.
It's just an industry standard using their water. That should be understood
@@christopherreier not necessarily. Most mobile trucks I see have a tank.
I have never gotten pushback from using water/power. Just set the expectation early when scheduling and people are always okay with it.
