Hey, would you be able to share a link for where you bought the foam mattress from? Thanks, your conversion is so inspiring I am planning one myself now
Your curtains behind the cab seats should have been thermal blockout fabric or backing lined. It a very common type of curtain fabric and readily ava in fabric stores. You could now just get the thermal lining and attach to your current fabric curtains. The good part is it doesn't fray so can simply cut to size and stitched to the existing curtains. I would stop the lining just short of your hardware fittings so as to not create bulk behind the hardware. Not only would it blockout the light but also keep out the heat in summer and cold in winter, if your planning on using year round. Great job. Enjoy!
Am I the only one who found this informative AND hilarious? 😂 Had me at "...I have drawn a very detailed and professional plan...". Very nice conversion. Following.
What a brilliantly made video…and a brilliantly made camper! How long did the the conversion take? It’s an epic bit of kit you now have for toddling round in. You should be bloody proud of yourself! 👍🏼
Yeah I’m pretty pleased with it seeing as I’ve never built anything in my life before this! I think it was like 2 or 3 months just doing a few hours here and there, so not as quick as the video made it seem. And I did a lot of UA-cam video watching to learn as I went haha. And thank you! Definitely enjoying it!

What a perfect Van build/conversion you have used every inch of space perfectly. I have watched a few of your on the road video's then i stumbled across this one, i enjoyed them so i will be watching some more for sure. All the best.
Excellent conversion and excellent video. No unnecessary deep dives, no skipping over steps, just great explanations and great overview of each item. Makes me want one!
You’ve done a really good job with this van. I’m planning on doing a conversion on a small van at some point in the next couple of years for my children and this layout would work great for them. All the best and keep the videos coming
It’s just a personal use van. Unless I were to get it registered as a camper (which they wouldn’t allow) then I think it makes more sense to have it as personal use
No it’s almost impossible to get it classed as a camper. Even if you follow all the rules they still deny it most of the time. The full list of rules are on the DVLA website but most people try and give up because they don’t even give an explanation to why they’ve denied it
@@Adz the big blocker for most these days is the requirement for a high-top roof. Damn this is easily the best video. Straight to the point. No pointless filling it out with your entire life backstory haha. Saved this video. We've just bought a Caddy and are starting the conversion
I really like this build. Here's to lots and lots of great trips with it! We'll be taking our Caddy Maxi with our self made build to its fourth season this year, over to Scotland this time. It's a great small van!
Excellent build, nice video, no messing about no annoying music - well done. One thing, perhaps the cupboard door with the fridge should open the other way - easy access from the van.
Thank you! Unfortunately it wasn’t possible to open that way because it couldn’t open far enough due to the front seat sticking out around half way up the door
Your Gatwick Airport video popped up on my UA-cam today...awesome... so I watched all your other 6 all liked. I have subscribed with the bell on for future episodes. Your van build video was fantastic showing the final results without looking all the praise for doing it. You are destined to go far with this channel my friend. Best wishes from Spain.
Thank you! It means a lot, especially that you’ve watched them all so far! I’ve been really enjoying making the videos so there’ll definitely be a lot more to come. Hopefully bigger and better as I go!

Fantastic conversion and a very different layout to all the others I’ve watched. I’m interested in the way you’ve done the bed. Where did you get the frame made and what are the dimensions of it?
Thanks! Yeah I didn’t want a side kitchen because I needed the bed to be a certain size. The frame is 120cm wide by about 175cm and then the wooden board overhangs by about 10cm at the back to make it about 185cm long. It’s basically a small double. The guy who made it was an eBay seller that sells frames and I just asked him to customise the size for me and he did. There’s a few sellers that do the frames I think
@@Adz It’s definitely the route I want to go on the bed layout, it’s perfect. What was the name of the eBay seller you bought from? I’ve had a good look there but can’t see anything like it. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Mate, that was SO good to watch! Thanks for putting the vid up. I don't know if you think it maybe wasn't as big a production as some others, but it was simple, honest, straightforward and just as normal as any of us out here would be. Nice conversion! The bubble foil everyone uses is fine for vapour barrier but useless as an insulation or sound deadener! The plastic bottle insulation is great but needs a vapour barrier! 👍
Thank you! I used a separate sound deadener. And not standard foil, it was insulated too. But also vapour barriers do more damage than good a lot of the time. I think it’s far better to control moisture levels rather than to attempt to stop it reaching the metal. Just superb! Clearly a natural with a jigsaw then haha. Hoping to pick up my (ex gas) van this month and get building. Cinema screen is a stroke of genius mate 😂👏🏻

@@Adz tks
You’ve got some skills there bud. Great job👍
Thank you!
You're a natural builder, regardless of your background. I'm seriously thinking about buying a van and doing something simliar, but not for UA-cam 😆. What kind of money did you spend to complete this project?
At last someone has built the type of bed/sofa i had thought up. Its such a great idea but i wasn't quite sure how it would work. Cheers
Yeah I sat in the empty van for hours thinking of all the possibilities and this seemed to be the best possible option! Thanks!
@@Adz yeah, that view out the back will give you some great views. Enjoy
Just superb! Clearly a natural with a jigsaw then haha. Hoping to pick up my (ex gas) van this month and get building. Cinema screen is a stroke of genius mate 😂👏🏻
Thanks! And I think the lines could’ve been slightly better with the jigsaw but after the carpet went on it was all good haha. And yeah the projector is my favourite part of it I think! It’s like a mini cinema when you’re watching it
Jezus ..brilliant. I must have this for my photography. What a nice project.
Thanks! And yeah it makes travelling around so convenient!
Dude! Awesome build! You’re a legend! The video was really good too. Very informative and great editing and comments by you.
