  • This week Blue Line Outfitters fishes the famous Chattooga River on the Georgia/South Carolina line. We start out fishing streamers and move to nymphs when we get in an area of rainbows. If you like bigger water this is the place where you can cast until your heart's content.

    Great video ! Thanks guys ! I try to fish Burrell's Ford several times a year. Mostly , by parking on the Georgia side and working downstream to the campground. It's tough enough wading in that direction ! From the bridge to Ellicott Rock is another animal altogether. Wading upstream, deeper water , over slab bedrock ,and true wilderness setting , can be challenging and dangerous ,especially if you fish alone ! One day, I was a couple of miles upstream and suddenly caught wind of an animal ! Since my hearing is impaired , by the noise of the water, I was surprised when a huge sow and her two cubs stepped out of the foliage and crossed upstream twenty yards from me ! That was a close call ! Now I wear a small dog bell on my wading boot so that any one or any THING can hear me coming ! Once again, thanks for the video and keep up the good work !

      For me the exposure without shade will dehydrate you on the chattooga quick. It’s a good idea to stay hydrated and use sunscreen. I have had to sit in the shade more than once on the chattooga.

    This one time I saw 4 guys in 2 separate canoes going real fast down the Chattooga. I'm pretty sure one of them fell over board while the others lost control of the raft and ended up tumbling down into a gorge. Still don't know if they made it out.

    I’ll be headed to the campground there Thursday to spend 48hrs. I’d love to pick your brain some on the area. I’ve only fished there down to the bridge on 28

    is this water damn controlled? would this still be in ga??

    • @bluelineoutfitters3964
      @bluelineoutfitters3964  4 місяці тому

      It’s free flowing without a dam. The river is the line between GA and SC. So half of it is in GA anyway

    Nice video guys! So far I have not been to this place. I want to go check it out. I wonder if it’s still a good time to go fishing there in late September or October?

      That’s a great time to go fishing. The browns in the river should be getting active ahead of the spawn. Good luck and thanks for watching

    The best fishing is from the East Fork to Elicotts Rock.

    How do you get your streamer to sink because mine never gets down there?

    • @bluelineoutfitters3964
      @bluelineoutfitters3964  2 роки тому

      First thanks for watching. This particular streamer had lead eyes on it. A big mend and a few seconds to get it down also help a lot. The best solution is to buy or tie flies with weight on them in amounts to sink based on your stream you plan to fish. When tying my own I use a lot of weight so you don’t have to add it cause split shot can affect how it swims

    What size streamer was ya fishing?

    • @bluelineoutfitters3964
      @bluelineoutfitters3964  2 роки тому

      Size 4. It was about 3” long. Hopefully we see it in the mouth of an Idaho bull trout later this summer.
