  • In this video I'll show you a simple method on how you can stop a wooden bedroom door from rattling either in the wind, or when other people shut doors within the same house. This involves no tools. All you need to do is buy yourself a packet of heavy duty felt pads which shouldn't cost you more than £2, and stick them at the top and bottom of the frame.

I have had this issue for 6 years. My ex husband wasn’t the most diy savvy man so we just ignored it. I didn’t bother look for solutions as I felt I was always the one trying to resolve issues in the house. 2 weeks after divorce I thought I will finally attempt something. Hoping I won’t have to use drill or anything, I came across this video. All I can say is it worked like a charm and I’m so grateful! Already shared the video with a friend or two - thank you so much

This solved years of being tormented by neighbours closing the front door and causing the communal internal door to rattle like someone was trying to break in! Cheers!

This was such an easy fix! We have double doors to our bedroom and they would rattle every time the air conditioner came on. We no longer wake up multiple times in the middle of the night b/c it sounds like someone is coming in. Thanks for sharing!

Hey! Thank you!!! I bought these exact ones from Amazon and put one of the long strips along the metal bit on the floor (I don't know what it's called!) but it's fixed the rattle completely! I'm embarrassed to say I've wedged a sock in the door frame for years and years so thank you for the fix!

Just move the TAB within the metal 'strike-plate' with a pair of pliers, after undoing the two wee screws and removing. Fixed forever.

Ratting exterior doors are a BIGGER PROBLEM that can literally let the heat out, If you see rattling exterior doors to this immediately plus people can just open it with a credit card as the lock thing on the latch will be in the door.

Not the way to do this. You must have positive pressure in the close direction. This is done by removing the strike-plate and adjusting the tab in the strike-plate toward the strike bolt so it closes tight when replaced.
