He gives me selfish vibes, so yeah, fuck him and leave, girl. Especially because someone seeking love for the first time will always be insecure with a widowed partner who are still completely in love with their lost loved one.
I loooove Madame Delacroix and Pen’s friendship, and the switching from the French accent to her normal cockney just shows how much Delacroix trusts Pen!!

I don't really see many redeeming qualities in Eloise. I need to watch this again to see if I missed something about the timing of it all (Although at that time period I believe a "breakfast" gathering was more to differentiate the level of dress/formality/how long guests would stay rather than a literal breakfast. Balls OTOH often involved staying the night or going home the next morning. But in Bridgerton everything is so extra it's hard to see much difference in dress lol)

The way I see it, this whole situation just brought back flashbacks to the Marina situation in season 1. In fact a lot of season 3 ep 7 parallel’s season 1 ep 7 in Colin dealing with the aftermath of finding out the woman he was engaged to kept a secret from him. But this time, he decides to still marry Penelope, unlike the Marina situation where he doesn’t.

Anthony was such a mood this season. All his lines are so quotable. My personal favorites are from the conversation between him Colin and Kate. "Kate: Two glasses are celebratory, a whole bottle is a cry for help. Anthony, whispering to Colin: I drank a bottle the night before my wedding, my second wedding. And it was deeply celebratory ."-underrated lines.
i feel like in a year, they are going to release violet's backstory and it's going to be two parallel storylines: her meeting and falling in love with papa bridgerton in the past and her blooming romance with danbury's brother in the present.

I don't care, I'll fight anybody on this: Luke Newton ATE the revelation scene! I would give him an Emmy nomination for those 30 seconds alone! I've honestly rewatched it so many times because you can really see his heartbreak almost more than his anger. He was teary-eyed and right when Pen nodded in confirmation that she is LW, his tears FINALLY fell! OMG! And it fits his character so well that he would be more of a crier when angry than raging (like Anthony would be). And throughout this episodes, his eyes were always glassy when speaking to Pen in anger. Ugh...Luke....the actor that you ARE!
He said in an interview he got because he was so tired and overwhelmed while filming (well he didn't name the scene but his description of it makes me think it was this one) but the directors liked it and asked if he could do it for subsequent takes

How come no one remembers the things Penelope wrote about herself and her family? They always make it seem like what she wrote were personal attacks and not her reporting what was happening in the ton. (And she helped them too)
THANK YOU for calling out Eloise on only stepping back after Colin found out. I completely understand her being angry about Pen being LW but she was so involved in trying to force her to tell Colin (seemingly not caring that Pen was about to faint at one point because of it) and then when she’s just about to move past her own anger, she removes herself from a situation that she had a big hand in bringing about…I LOVEEEEE Eloise but I don’t like her lack of accountability for certain choices she makes
Something that's really interesting about the scene where Lady Cowper tells Cressida that it's everyone for themselves, especially women, is that there's some subtext that she's saying that about each other as well. One of the great tragedies about Cressida is that she is purely a product of her environment, where she believes that she has no one to rely on because that's the only thing she's ever known.
In regards to the "entrapment" comment: No, it wasn't ok, it's a very hurtful thing to say, but I think it's logical. It was either Rizzo or Benji earlier in the season that mentioned keeping this secret is similar to the Marina drama where she was planning to entrap him. His comment is basically a trigger response, a reflex to a past trauma. Yes, women in this society get screwed over THE most, but as a man in this society, Colin was super humiliated. He PUBLICLY announced his engagement to Marina & then LW says "yep, THAT guy was about to raise another man's child." Patriarchy hurts everyone! And while he did lead Pen to the room alone, Colin did take his time, asked for consent/checked in like 3 times, and the sex scene showed us Pen's personality of still taking initiative, so I don't believe that the encounter was super one-sided. I just wanted to chime in on this one because people are acting like that was this heinous, unforgiveable, out of character moment where I don't think it was. Plus, from personal experience, when we were both of sound mind, my husband and I established what jabs are 100% below the belt & unacceptable in our relationship. We've had some really bad arguments & we've both said VERY hurtful things but they weren't those established below-the-belt hits. But we were worked through it all & still very happy!

A happy wedding ceremony (reception not withstanding), gay storyline, kanthony was included (also when Anthony was like I would know if things were going on in my house, I immediately was like, how would you know, you’ve been spending all your time in the land of oz lol) and we got a rare benji tear! Plus the getting up when Benedict kissed Paul was the best! I cannot wait for the finale reaction, because I just wanted to say this now, it’s so interesting all the bridgerton’s seem to produce first born sons. How convenient lol

That's why her children are like that, they inherit it from her. Remember when Colin watched Pen lick sugar from her lips, I thought for a moment he was about to lean over and kiss the sugar from her mouth. A scene later he was eating the same cake just so he would have the same taste in his mouth. Like mother, like son.
Also also I did not realize why they used yellow as her bridal march song until you said because she was in yellow. But also I’m not a fan of that song but I do love the string instrumental. Very beautiful. And I love how incapable Cressida is to dressing simply. I think it’s clearly just that she has never had plain clothes, but I love the narrative that no matter what she is always to the nines. And also her mother’s speech really says a lot because even her own mother doesn’t care enough to have her back. I know she justified it by saying I couldn’t get you back in the public good graces, but as she stated, every woman for herself.
I love pen and Colin's relationship- they have the strongest most realistic relationship I have seen so far and I love it- they pick up when something is wrong with the other, Colin gives her space to tell when she is ready. I love that when they talk outside of the modiste he is actively listening- he asks her questions, he doesn't yell at her, he stays calm, he doesn't run away, and she genuinely answers them - it's clear it's more about his jealousy and his fear for her safety then her actually being whistledown. I love that she sips up onto the sidewalk so that they are at eye level, he is not towering over her, they are equal, it was a power move and it was amazing. The steamy scene that follows afterwards I love and have rewatched multiple times. When he said that she entrapped him he clearly said that out of pain and anger (which he is entitled too), because she didn't entrap him- he is the one who initiated sex, both in the carriage and the mirror (checking both times before continuing) she repeatedly gives him an out and he doesn't take it because he knows deep down that she didn't do that he is just deeply hurt that she kept that a secret and he loves her and wants to marry her. If she had entrapped him she wouldn’t give him multiple outs. I love what pen says about what it’s like for women because it’s true- it was amazing watching her stand up to colin in that moment. Women are taught to shield the parts of themselves that are flawed, not perfect, not allowed to be harsh, to call out bullshit in how they are treated- to constantly be mansplained, if tough in the way men are- act the way men do at meetings- automatic bitch, man acts the same way- praised. This also can be applied to nonbinary people regardless if they present more feminine, but especially if they are someone who does present more feme because we are then confused for a woman and continue to get all the mysagonistic bullshit regardless. It has been ingrained in him that it is a mans job to provide for and protect his wife, so when she says she can take care of herself and he says then what good am I to you, you can feel the pain, pen is independent and doesn't need him in that way, she just needs him for him and it takes some time for him to accept the role reversal. it is also obvious that Colin has low self-esteem and a hero complex. I love that penn has the conversation with Genevieve- she is the only person penn could really have the conversation with and it says a lot that it is Genevieve penn goes too not Eloise or anyone else. I love the conversation between Collin and Kate about marriage and whether the information negates how he feels for Penn- great true advice. I love that during their vows Collin is keeping constant eye contact with penn- as well as when they dance. I also love that they kept since season 1 penn and Colin always finding each other at gatherings and purposely spending time with each other- gravitated to each other and they kept that at the reception. The look on Colin's face when he sees penn in her wedding dress was great and this joint nod of ready-ready- I support you and love you and we will do this together. In that nod they shelved their fight and enjoyed their wedding because they genuinely love each other and want to be together- and then the queen had ro ruin it.
I think they would have had a beautiful wedding night and talked out their differences if the queen had not crashed their wedding breakfast. They were so into each other and were starting to enjoy their special day. I think the queen owes them a do over for ruining their wedding memories.

One thing about Eloise is that she stay switchin up. She’ll talk someone’s ear off the whole season about women’s rights and girls support girls, but the moment someone needs her help it’s CRICKETS. She’s nowhere to be found. I also think that that friendship between her and Cressida was made to show that Eloise is truly alone in her mindset in this society. I love her and the way she thinks, but when less privileged women in this cruel society are doing just what they need to do to get by, you gotta respect the hustle 👏🏾

Even if someone isn’t as invested in the main couple there’s so much else to enjoy in the season and it’s so fun and entertaining! Good television is well rounded and I feel this season is at its most ensemble and there’s so many great storylines to invest in.
Okay here’s the thing, I get Eloise hasn’t been the most understanding but genuinely, everything she does makes sense if she’s in love with Pen. She doesn’t listen when Penelope talks about wanting to get married in the first season bc she doesn’t want her to marry anyone else, she doesn’t notice she’s in love with Colin bc she super doesn’t want her to marry him, she’s so hurt by the Whistledown stuff partially bc it was hurtful but also bc, like Colin, she feels like she made a fool of herself in front of this person she adores only doubly bc she also adored Whistledown at the time, she gives in and tries to fit in this season bc she’s no longer speaking to the person she wanted to spend her life with (which she canonically said lmao), etc. plus, she has just super queer-coded conversations with her now canonically queer brother every season. Like, Idk... she’s giving lesbian. Or possibly genderqueer, but still definitely into women IMO.

I really want a Violet and Edmond season, they can be the main story like Queen Charlotte. Then a bunch of side stories like Lady Danbury’s, they can be for all of the other mothers in the ton attending the same balls because they seem to have debuted around the same time. A little background on Portia when she chose to marry for security because love is so rare no one believes in it. Mary Sharma as the diamond and all of her marrying someone from the working class drama. Lady Cowper as Cressida 1.0. So many possibilities, but most importantly we all agree that we want Violet and Edmond’s story 😭
kate & anthony leaving again was such a copout, it’s obvious that the showrunners don’t want to bother with them anymore, luckily simone ashley said she is very much ready and willing to come back next season so maybe we will see them again next season despite this weird writing choice.

Luke Newton ATE the revelation scene! I would give him an Emmy nomination for those 30 seconds alone! I've honestly rewatched it so many times because you can really see his heartbreak almost more than his anger. He was teary-eyed and right when Pen nodded in confirmation that she is LW, his tears FINALLY fell! OMG! And it fits his character so well that he would be more of a crier when angry than raging (like Anthony would be). And throughout this episodes, his eyes were always glassy when speaking to Pen in anger. Ugh...Luke....the actor that you ARE!

Something that's really interesting about the scene where Lady Cowper tells Cressida that it's everyone for themselves, especially women, is that there's some subtext that she's saying that about each other as well. One of the great tragedies about Cressida is that she is purely a product of her environment, where she believes that she has no one to rely on because that's the only thing she's ever known.

In regards to the "entrapment" comment:
No, it wasn't ok, it's a very hurtful thing to say, but I think it's logical. It was either Rizzo or Benji earlier in the season that mentioned keeping this secret is similar to the Marina drama where she was planning to entrap him. His comment is basically a trigger response, a reflex to a past trauma. Yes, women in this society get screwed over THE most, but as a man in this society, Colin was super humiliated. He PUBLICLY announced his engagement to Marina & then LW says "yep, THAT guy was about to raise another man's child." Patriarchy hurts everyone! And while he did lead Pen to the room alone, Colin did take his time, asked for consent/checked in like 3 times, and the sex scene showed us Pen's personality of still taking initiative, so I don't believe that the encounter was super one-sided.
I just wanted to chime in on this one because people are acting like that was this heinous, unforgiveable, out of character moment where I don't think it was. Plus, from personal experience, when we were both of sound mind, my husband and I established what jabs are 100% below the belt & unacceptable in our relationship. We've had some really bad arguments & we've both said VERY hurtful things but they weren't those established below-the-belt hits. But we were worked through it all & still very happy!

I love pen and Colin's relationship- they have the strongest most realistic relationship I have seen so far and I love it- they pick up when something is wrong with the other, Colin gives her space to tell when she is ready. I love that when they talk outside of the modiste he is actively listening- he asks her questions, he doesn't yell at her, he stays calm, he doesn't run away, and she genuinely answers them - it's clear it's more about his jealousy and his fear for her safety then her actually being whistledown. I love that she sips up onto the sidewalk so that they are at eye level, he is not towering over her, they are equal, it was a power move and it was amazing. The steamy scene that follows afterwards I love and have rewatched multiple times. When he said that she entrapped him he clearly said that out of pain and anger (which he is entitled too), because she didn't entrap him- he is the one who initiated sex, both in the carriage and the mirror (checking both times before continuing) she repeatedly gives him an out and he doesn't take it because he knows deep down that she didn't do that he is just deeply hurt that she kept that a secret and he loves her and wants to marry her. If she had entrapped him she wouldn’t give him multiple outs. I love what pen says about what it’s like for women because it’s true- it was amazing watching her stand up to colin in that moment. Women are taught to shield the parts of themselves that are flawed, not perfect, not allowed to be harsh, to call out bullshit in how they are treated- to constantly be mansplained, if tough in the way men are- act the way men do at meetings- automatic bitch, man acts the same way- praised. This also can be applied to nonbinary people regardless if they present more feminine, but especially if they are someone who does present more feme because we are then confused for a woman and continue to get all the mysagonistic bullshit regardless. It has been ingrained in him that it is a mans job to provide for and protect his wife, so when she says she can take care of herself and he says then what good am I to you, you can feel the pain, pen is independent and doesn't need him in that way, she just needs him for him and it takes some time for him to accept the role reversal. it is also obvious that Colin has low self-esteem and a hero complex. I love that penn has the conversation with Genevieve- she is the only person penn could really have the conversation with and it says a lot that it is Genevieve penn goes too not Eloise or anyone else. I love the conversation between Collin and Kate about marriage and whether the information negates how he feels for Penn- great true advice. I love that during their vows Collin is keeping constant eye contact with penn- as well as when they dance. I also love that they kept since season 1 penn and Colin always finding each other at gatherings and purposely spending time with each other- gravitated to each other and they kept that at the reception. The look on Colin's face when he sees penn in her wedding dress was great and this joint nod of ready-ready- I support you and love you and we will do this together. In that nod they shelved their fight and enjoyed their wedding because they genuinely love each other and want to be together- and then the queen had ro ruin it.

I think they would have had a beautiful wedding night and talked out their differences if the queen had not crashed their wedding breakfast. They were so into each other and were starting to enjoy their special day. I think the queen owes them a do over for ruining their wedding memories.

Even if someone isn’t as invested in the main couple there’s so much else to enjoy in the season and it’s so fun and entertaining! Good television is well rounded and I feel this season is at its most ensemble and there’s so many great storylines to invest in.
Okay here’s the thing, I get Eloise hasn’t been the most understanding but genuinely, everything she does makes sense if she’s in love with Pen. She doesn’t listen when Penelope talks about wanting to get married in the first season bc she doesn’t want her to marry anyone else, she doesn’t notice she’s in love with Colin bc she super doesn’t want her to marry him, she’s so hurt by the Whistledown stuff partially bc it was hurtful but also bc, like Colin, she feels like she made a fool of herself in front of this person she adores only doubly bc she also adored Whistledown at the time, she gives in and tries to fit in this season bc she’s no longer speaking to the person she wanted to spend her life with (which she canonically said lmao), etc. plus, she has just super queer-coded conversations with her now canonically queer brother every season. Like, Idk... she’s giving lesbian. Or possibly genderqueer, but still definitely into women IMO.
