Thank you for making the point about the grippiness, as I am somewhat worried about moving onto the F4's for that reason specifically. I'm still on my 50 classics og formula and even though they flatspot easy, they feel sooo perfect to me on almost any ground in 99a, whereas I remember struggling with 99a F4's a couple years back as they weren't quite as forgiving. It was prob just a mix of placebo and nostalgia though as I had gotten back into skating and went with the classics, so I imagine once I try the F4's again, i'll probably never go back. Thanks for the info Ben, informative as always
My old spitfire classic and my crew skated them was like that even for beginners 3,4 month skating make this wheels lost 5,6 mm. Level skateboarding was shove it and 180s ollie. No powerslide and revert stuff even
Hey Ben. I was wondering if you could do a review of Santa Cruz slimeballs. They're the first wheel I bought when I didn't really know too much (still don't) about about skateboards. From what I've read, they're pretty decent, though I can't find too many sources that go into depth about their weaknesses. I suspect there might be a few due to their bulk and shape. I'm trying to figure out whether it's worth getting new ones to help with flippability/responsiveness, though my budget isn't huge so don't want to have to fix what isn't necessarily broken. I have 56mm 97a, though with my indies wheel bite isn't really an issue. Figure they'll wear down eventually anyway. Cheers for putting out such great content.
Those sure are badass wheels, I have em and they are great for the bowl skating and cruising long distance plus THEY are on sale RIGHT now at fun factory website now for $25.00 which is killer deal.
Ben, just to let you know: Fixed the Pop on my Full-SE by compensating wheel wear with a 1,5mm Riser and it made a noticeable difference. Didn't expect that. Thanks for pointing me to it.
I have a set of mini logos, i am a powerslide out everything kind of guy and so far the only thing i found is that they get cone and the inside of the wheel gets loose and the bearing doesnt stick making the wheels feel slow because of the play bearing/wheel, but actually they are my favourite wheel, they are quite grippy so i can survive in the incredibly waxed obstacles in my skatepak and enjoy those super waxed coping an ledges while maintaning a fair amount of grip
53mm Formula four street burners are the best, I'm due a new set soon so I'm going to give the lock ins a try. Cheers for the upload Ben I appreciate your wisdom, can we get a April skateboards review soon bro? Im curious about them.
I've never really had a problem with these but I'm always happy to try something new. I'll check out the formula 4's next time. I'm in the UK and pretty much all surfaces are rough as.
Original Formula: • Slower • Stickier • Wear faster F4 99a: • More rebound • Faster • More slidey • Last longer • More resistant to flatspots Ben, what do you mean by dull and lively? How would the F4 101a wheels fit here?

@@tweekedmobb1789 the urethane is almost impossible to flat spot, they don't yellow like spit fires do. That tells you how cheap their urethane is, the rebound on them is second to none. The last time i rode the classic one i flatspot them just in my warm up! 5 min, do a « tweaky » backside and that was it!
I got a bad flat spot with these my first run after putting them on. Took like 30 seconds on a nice concrete park.
