40 for a 40 swap & bucks in your pocket. Good deal. I like the color scheme for Mabel. You realize your lost control of her to your wife now right Mr. Anderson ? 🤭👍. Ok hearst theme it is. I still like the pregnant P38 Fighter Plane theme but that's me. You are going too smear encapsulator over that rusty inside roof before the headliner install right ? Another good vid Lee thanks for the update. 👊😎👍
Yeah, I’ll paint the inside before I insulate it. And the upholstery is definitely far more interesting than anything mechanical. Definitely been looking forward to that portion of it.
I like the 40 ford truck. Can’t wait to see what you have in mind for it. Mabel is coming along well. Sounds like the interior is going to be luxurious. Your wife is charming when she’s not driving. 😮
gday team .. great score with the new toy - looks to be a fun cruiser. impressed with Mrs Anderson’s colour choices for the interior in Mabel - especially the green lighting. cheers from down under 🍻🤘
Coming along now. I like the bullnose trucks. Maybe put fuel silicon on female hose to male tube and double clamp both sides to fuel tank hose. Truck rolls on nicely. Good find. Have a good week both. 👍👍 Adios.
Very Nice 40 truck!! I drove by one for many years that the owner wouldn't sell, and then one day it was gone! Nice to get the tank in the hearse and see the progress and some plans for the interior!
I've got a friend who has a hurst with flamethrower and two caskets trailers with jet flamethrowers. He rides on top another friend, drives Kount Kennedy. Puts on a great show.
Congrats on the truck purchase. I take it you bought it sight unseen. If so it’s a good get. Also the delivery guy was wearing safety flip flops. lol. Thanks for the update.😊
I think you’re 40 coupe was one of my favorites, I don’t think I could have let it go! I do like the replacement, my 41 p/u has the same green paint, mine was an X-gasser in the 50’s, patina is a must for me, cuz my wife said so! 😮 You did good! I wish I could send you a pic of mine with the same paint!
Mr. B. Here ! 🍩☕️👀😎👍🇺🇸 I am with you brother, but two of my vehicles I pick up and drove them home, what a ride ! Good luck on the new project ! ☕️👀😎👍🇺🇸
Once you get the 40's into your blood its hard to get it out... Make you a box out of metal that you can remove the top and drop a big chunk of dry ice in it.. At -109 F it should make it a little cooler in the truck... just make sure you vent the gas outside the truck.. Can't wait to see the floor boards in the hearse and the interior ..Well you take care and God Bless...
Hey Lee, enjoyed the video, I had a 40 ford pickup a few tears ago, really liked it but of ,course, sold it, love the Caddy, nice to have Laura helping you...Ralph...like your 40...
@Theoldironworkshop Hey Lee, we are in the beginning of a heat wave this week in Rhode Island, it is 90 degrees and humid now and gonna last all week , I appreciate the work you get done in the heat in Texas, I could never do it...Ralph
Your wife does her fair share of work on your cars. My daughter was helping me a bit with the interior of my last project. My wife is disgusted how disgustingly dirty all our cars are. Yesterday she spent nearly an entire day cleaning the inside and washing the outside on four of our cars. I am lazy when it comes to cleaning cars. A week ago I finally finished another endless project: A cute red and white Chevy Corvair. It is a lady's car for sure. My daughter and my wife are both using it non stop. I hardly ever had a car causing so much feedback from many people, including many non car people, mainly women. I never expected that. My daughter and her beautiful female best pal were called out by many young guys who ran to them and were congratulating them for the pretty car. I bet those young guys were far more interested in the two Beauties driving the car than the vehicle itself. Pickups, trucks and hearses are obviously more a magnet for guys.
@@Theoldironworkshop I went to a very special US car meet today with my 65 Bonneville. Many great cars there. My daughter showed up with the Corvair. It was the only one there. I am happy to hand on the flag to the following generation. One very special car was a Stutz race car of the late Twenties. The guy shows up even in rain and snow. Several great late Fifties mopars, WW2 Army vehicles and a big variety of Fifties and Sixties GM. Hot rods and trucks of different vintage. A handful of Caddies, including two 59 models, a Fleetwood 4d and a convertible. No Caddie hearse this time. Something for everyone. Your pickup would have fit in.
Tres Kool 😃 Dude, you talked about needing more w/shop space : why not just put a carport roof over the slab where hearse sits now ? Gets you out of the sun & the rain & gives you plenty of fresh air....
regarding the new shop truck. I don't know what plans you have for it ; but..... can I suggest the cab roof & screens be chopped off & a roof section shaped like a coupe be implanted ? ie, screen leaning back, rear window leaning forward, rounded door tops, etc, etc..... plus, maybe, a sectioning of the body (on the vert plane) ?...

I really had a plan to drive it home. Unfortunately it just wasn’t going to work with my schedule. Honestly after cruising around in it and addressing the holes in the floor, it’s quite nice. I would drive it to Florida today if I needed to. Oh well, next time

Looks like a great shop truck, if you don't lose one you don't get another one. Nice purchase.
I would keep them all if I could.

She’s definitely a good time. A little Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde behind the wheel
Wouldn't change hardly a thing on that little pickup! Nice purchase.
I got a few ideas, but for the most part, I’ll probably leave it alone at least for now
Congrats on ur newest 1940 Truck, she is as COOL as a Six Pack of COORS BEER.. The Gas Tank location is engineering at it best. Stay Cool My Friend..

Nice work with fuel tank bud
Cool to see Laura getting involved with the upholstery

Damn man that truck looks cool
awesome new truck and good seeing Mabel progressing
Yes it’s slow but making some progress
Although it will be awesome when Mabel is completed, I enjoy you guys working together on this project.
Oh yeah, she’s quite creative. Plus, she can see colors so that helps.

I think the color that guy started painting that 40 looks right on that truck.
It might stay
Ok, you’re forgiven, selling the ‘40 and buying 50 pick’em up!
Thanks man!
Thanks for the video. Its motivation to work on my wagon after I work on my daily.
Sometimes that’s all it takes.
I love your t-shirt. The truck and hearse are cool too.
Thanks.
Excellent truck. Good job on the “trade”. Loving your videos!

Loving your on the hoof thinking; not like it was but better; oh and the truck a snack in between ... 😏
Yeah, I’m not much on how to. It’s more how to think through a process.

Well done brother,crafsman .

Really like the interior plan! most builders would use red or black..typical, I like the green gold idea.
Yes, we agree. It’s the dare to be different.
I have a feeling that 40 pick up is getting a hair cut. 😮 Can't wait to see Mabel driving soon.😊
Thanks!

i must see that
Truck looks awesome, can't wait to see what you do to it. Great video...

Nice having gauges that work, I mostly had vehicles where the doors wouldn't lock. That caddy motor should be good for towing a trailer.
I hope so. I got plans for a trailer build

That 40 Ford truck is badass. Although I think a more oe looking set of wheels would fit it better.
I like the idea of black steelies.

I can see that Caddy donk heading into the hearse ...nice truck
p.s.. old hot rodders used spark plug ignitors in the tail-pipe as flame throwers
Yes I’ve done that several times. However that won’t work with a computer controlled motor. I’m going to use propane

I mostly just hate cars in general
Mr Hughes!!! We have clouds!!!
Suggestions?
Love the truck
thats a badass truck
Rear glass will need landau bars 👌👌👌👌
I was actually thinking of having them pinstriped on there
Nice truck
Thanks 👍

I was hoping to have sold my house and moved by now. But that’s on hold so maybe I will now.

What is a jailbar?
@@Theoldironworkshop 42-47 Ford pickup. The grille looks like jailbars
Nice truck , like them fords you've had/got. What do they charge to ship cars if you don't mind me asking ? Thanks
That was $900 for about 600 miles
It would’ve cost me about 700 to fly up there and drive back so I think it was worth it
You and I are alike here. The only thing I want more than '40 Coupe or Tudor Sedan is a '40 Truck. Maybe some day.

No, just insulation I don’t like putting it on the roof. To hot here
I like it!
I don't know if you've watched FantomWorks, they built a hearse with flamethrowers on the back. Good luck & don't blow up!! 😅
I’ll have to look it up
Thanks for sharing your videos, can you tell me what you're mill is .

I don’t know. My uncle was a machinist and had it. I got it from him about 25 years ago. It’s probably a Chinese knock off I imagine. No badges.
