  • ok....now I've played bass for longer than I care to accept(47years by the old math....) and over at least a couple decades of that much of it has been based(bassed?) Over digital rhythm tracks from sequencers, drum machines , or synthesizers/digital work stations(pretty much synths with a high impression of themselves) and in doing so, I made it a point to use patterns I normally would avoid for various reasons, to the point where I could arrive at a bassline for most any pattern, sure it might not conform with the "expected" bass phrasings but it usually worked in its own way....
    We
L, in a sense, its come full circle, with my aspiring efforts to play the drums, and I find myself trying to play bass along with my less than conventional drumming.
This piece started with the drum part, recorded in stereo, and then I did this bassline over it. As always, this is spontaneously improvised on the spot, first take, first run through.
I did record two more alternate bass lines, but I had run out of memory on this device so I have only the audio tracks, but I may do some further overdubs on those and thereby get some video of it.
This is certainly the best attempt of a live drums/bass video I've done to date.
Please let me know what you think!
