We too get excited over the craziest things. Almost 50 years traversing the magnificent Skyway Bridge and my heart fills each and every time we cross it and are so blessed that this is HOME! The most exhilarating way to cross the Skyway is on motorcycle when you can look thru the grid at the top and see straight down to the water. At any reasonable speed it looks like there is nothing between your bike and the water. Like flying someplace between heaven and the sea. The old bridge used to be noisier but the new bridge is spectacular.
Hello my friend, you did it again......made me hungrier than a ranchhand roping cattle. There’s two words that go together “steak and shrimp”........ just like biscuits and gravy. There’s a lot of food that when you say them together that makes you smile. Stay thirsty my friend
That was nice that you wished us a good time with the person we love today! Why yes, we just got back from our little 2-night camping getaway at Lake Anna State Park in Virginia. My sweetheart and I really enjoyed all the sunshine this weekend hiking with our pups, riding our bikes and grilling over the campfire. Lots to pack into a weekend, but working hard has its rewards. Great video thanks!
Wanderlust; my incurable disease and the only medicine is enjoying life with my RV. The next best remedy is enjoying great video’s like yours and “From She To Me”. But being flexible and Van life kinda go hand in hand. Nature’s opportunities far surpassed the expectations on your walk. Keep living the dream and have a great week. Happy Tails and belly rubs Maggie. ❤️🐕🚗😎🇺🇸
A walk where the dog stops ever few feet, is not a person walking the dog but a dog walking the person. I loved the sounds of all the birds and owls. For the owls out in the day is odd but they do love their fish and little critters that come out after a rain. Thanks for sharing your adventure..
We were both surprised the owls were out during the day too, but so glad they were. Totally agree that Maggie walks us most of the time. Thanks for watching>.
Thanks for the information, we looked them up after we heard them, it was our first time hearing them. I can see why you always hope to hear them, it was pretty special for us too.
I camp at the end of the skyway bridge to. People have to leave a dusk, there is no overnight camping. I night fishing so they know me and leave me be. I have also camped on the fishing pier. The fee gets you in for 24 hrs. You don't have to fish but I do. No mosquitoes because of the breeze at night. It is nice and cool sleeping. Loved the kayak launch. They need those everywhere! The bridge is beautiful but it is sad too because we get so many jumpers they even made a web page memorial.
I thought we saw another UA-cam that stated you could overnight at the end of the bridge. It’s good you can spend the night while you are fishing I bet that’s a lot of fun. I didn’t realize that there were so many jumpers, that is very sad. Thanks for the comment.
That 360 camera view on the bridge turned out very nice. Loved the owls. Barred owls is what they are. That’s the thing my wife and I enjoy the most about camping is encountering wildlife we haven’t seen (or heard) before. If it’s a quiet setting I could s it and just listen to the various bird calls for hours. Thanks for sharing.
We also love encountering any kind of wildlife and especially something we’ve never seen or heard is even more exciting. Thanks so much for watching and sharing your comment.
Welcome to my neck of the woods! I’m born and raised in Tampa! I loved the sound of the birds and the red tail hawk and the owls! Also that was beautiful footage of the Skyway bridge!
Wow!!! Owls and hawks and eagles, oh my! I thought I saw an eagle in to top of a tall pine just to your left as you turned into the campsite (where the kids on bikes on your right were coming by you). Mike said he heard one on the trail, but we couldn't see one anywhere. I know Maggie enjoyed that walk! The dinner looked scrumptious!!! You said you were going to add one more ingredient to the shrimp and I don't think I heard you say what it was...something to thicken the sauce, maybe? The salad looked yummy, too! Thanks for taking us along. We had looked at LMSP, but I don't think you. can actually see manatees there, can you? Have a great week! Love you guys! See you soon! Safe travels and good weather, Jane in SC❤️🙏
We love seeing any kind of wildlife... but those owls were extra special. I’m not sure about manatee at LMSP, you would think that since it’s in the name they would be there. Thanks so much for following along, we so appreciate your support.
We spent the night at the rest stop on the south end of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge on Feb.23. The lights on the bridge at night are beautiful! Your videos helped us with choosing campsites around Florida last month. Thank you for sharing your trips and great videos. Safe travels.
The rest stop looked like a great place to stay, I bet the lights on the Bridge was beautiful, it’s been awhile since we seen the lights. We appreciate you watching.
That music was PERFECT for the Happy Dance! Steak ‘n shrimp looked SO good❤️ We took a wild canoe ride at Juniper Springs in Ocala National Forest a few years ago. That little creek is fast! Highly recommend it!
Another beautiful video. Loved the brown horse. She looked so chill. Your meal looks so delicious. I am sure I would be doing the happy dance. I wish my man would cook. Those owls are amazing. Thanks Owen, Lynne and Maggie. Be safe. Enjoy every second of your journey.
I really hope you can make it to Alafia River State Park, Florida as it is one of our favorite FL State Parks with plenty of Horse, Bike, & Hiking trails. It is a reclaimed mining area and presents plenty of hills and varied terrain. It is very beautiful and has both a horse and an RV campground.
Welcome to Jurassic park ! We have owls where we live but they just have a soothing hoot in the morning. That bridge shot was epic almost as good as your happy dance. Take care guys.
I hope your prediction of the park by the water closing does not come to fruition. Florida is hanging tough. Sight of the state and U. S. Flag at half mast is a bittersweet reminder of that.
I just can’t begin to tell y’all how much I look forward to your Sunday morning post with a report of your latest adventures! It is a little piece of Zen to see the places you go, the various weather (from Snow/ice to tropical temps and foliage) you find and the smooth adjustments to your plans without complaint or self pity. Going with the flow seems to be your mantra and boy, howdy, it works. In times like these, you just need to learn bob and weave, take a deep breath and any day you’re on top of the dirt is another day to celebrate! Thanks again for our glimpse further south in FL. P.S. Making the old Skyway bridge into a fishing pier was genius in my opinion. Just wish someone would have done that with parts of the old 1-10 bridge over Escambia Bay after hurricane Ivan. 🙄
Thank you so much for your very kind words, it is much appreciated. When you are traveling you need to expect the unexpected and be able to bob and weave (I love that expression) and yes we need to celebrate everyday.
Hey guys wow that 360 cam across the bridge was amazing. I’m happy you didn’t lose it cause the footage you got was incredible. Loved the nature sounds in this video too. Stay safe out there guys. Hi Maggie! ❤️🇨🇦❤️ Cheers!!!
Oh my gosh...this video just went to the top of my list for your vids!! Awesome experiences; and your meal was beautiful. My husband and I would love to meet you some day. We have Rad bikes, and I love my griddle. 😊🏕🇺🇸
I’m glad your 360 camera made it across the bridge in the high winds. Maggie looks like the Flying Nun with her ears flapping in the breeze. And the sound those owls made was amazing!
We were both pretty nervous about the 360 camera, but getting that footage was worth it especially since we didn’t loose it. Thanks so much for watching.
O'Reilly DEF, cheaper and same as any other brand. Dragging the trailer will use up more. I've got a 2018 Roadtrek CS/XL, 3 years without a issue. I did drag a 16x7 enclosed, now a 10x5 utility.
You’re in my neck of the woods! If you ever need a place to moochdock for a couple of days, let us know. We’re in Clearwater between Courtney Campbell parkway and Clearwater Beach. We love the Skyway, by the way. I was extremely nervous the first time we took our Class A over it! As always, great video.
Thank you so much for kind offer. You live in a beautiful area. Clearwater Beach is on of the prettiest beaches I’ve ever seen. We have driven across the bridge many times but never in a motor home, I’m sure the wind can really affect how it drives, I would have been nervous too. We appreciate you taking the time to comment.
I was waiting for Owen to put ketchup on that steak, like last week, on that hot dog. lol. I hope you two do not get tired of making these great videos. For those of us who are still freezing.... we truly enjoy watching your adventures. Till we meet... Be Safe and Be Well.
Loved the 360 camera shot going across the bridge and cracked up at Lynn's comment when you went back over the bridge. And as usual, you made me hungry with your cooking section. Loved the video! Those owls were so interesting. See you next week. Safectravels and be healthy.
I was pretty nervous about putting the camera on the van with the high winds and did not think it would make it... and then he wanted to do it again. It was worth it for the footage we got. Thanks so much for following along.
Wow, another great job! The hoot owls will get your attention. We have some near us and some evenings they go off! But we also have green parrots flying over every day. Escapees from Marineland. We enjoyed it and miss you guys. David and Juanita!!!
We have hoot owls at home and love hearing them but we had never heard a barred owl, it was very interesting for sure. We’ve been watching your videos, I would comment there but you have comments turned off. Keep up the good work. It’s fun seeing what you are up to. Miss you guys too.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle oh no!!!! Didnt know comments were turned off! Gotta fix that for sure. It would be great to have some constructive criticism so we can get better! Didnt remember turning off comments
That was fantastic video!! Really enjoy the ride the scenery and the sounds . It looks so beautiful to be at places you have been . Thank you for making this wonderful video and sharing this with me!!!! BS & BK
That’s my fave park. There are so many habitats, The park is divided by the river, the North side is considered primitive. The South side where you are has a lovely lake with a beautiful wooded trail on one side and open trails on the other. It’s a great kayaking /canoe park too.
What a lovely production! Very pretty scenery, relaxing music, useful information. Just finding y'all and loving your channel! Thanks so much for sharing your adventures with us! :-)
That was amazing to ear the owls. Inever knew they made that sound.Another great video ,thanks. Great way to enjoy part of a Sunday morning. It looks pretty here to look out onto the lawn but its only 25 degrees in Ma right now. Enjoy the warm weather there.
Got a 83 acre property with 50 amp and water hook up just east of sarasota if u would like a place to boondock. We just got our revel last week.We are located close to myakka river state park.
Wished we would have know that while we were there... it sounds awesome. Thank you so much for your generous offer. Have fun with your Revel and maybe we’ll see you on the road.
We use to spend winters in Florida (5 months), Owen was preforming (singing) so he had a lot of gigs across the bridge and I use to setup at the Coquina Beach market on Sunday’s so every week we would cross that bridge and it was the high light of the drive and something we never grew tried of. So it’s special when we get to return to it.
That was quite a griddle feast! Did it smell near the stables? I used to own horses and there were always tons of flies near the stable too. Loved the 360 camera shot on the bridge.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle That is great. It looks like a nice uncrowded campground. We spent 2 weeks in Sanibel last month and really enjoyed the beach and warmth. Most of all the great shrimp and stone crab at the docks.
Most of the time we do not worry about them, if you stay away from them they want bother you and most of the time you want even see any. However, if we think there is any possibility that we might see one we leave Maggie in the Van with the AC running.
Friends. Thanks for sharing your travels and campground suggestions. A few question for you. Would you share your lounge dimensions with me and what cushion you purchased? Also, what are you using for a wifi extender? Thank you and stay safe. DaveH Fort Kent, Maine.
46x16 for the ottoman we made. The cushion is at: www.amazon.com/dp/B01N2BCYI5?ref=exp_vantrekkinglifestyle_dp_vv_d. We use the Wilson WeBoost with the RV antenna. It works “OK”... not a miracle product but sometimes does make a difference.
You wouldn't believe how many conversations we have about just that. We have an unwritten rule we have for the trailer. If we know where we're going and IF we are mainly doing state or national parks and IF there's water fun on the route... then we take the trailer. If all those factors are not met we leave the trailer at home. Does it negate the nimble advantages? Yes and no... we can still fit in just about any park or spot. Parking is more difficult in towns but still doable. But having all the toys safely with us that are protected from the elements too most of the time it is really worth it.
I was wondering about that too. My brother has a Winnebago view camper with the Mercedes diesel and I thought he said he only has to change it out every 5000 miles. I’m not sure about that. I’ll have to ask him again
I am curious about your trailer, sorry if this has been asked before but what is the weight on the trailer? how well has the revel been able to pull it? has it affected your MPG significantly?
Hey... no worries... even we can’t find the right videos to answer questions most of the time... ask anything and we’ll try to respond honestly. So trailer. Love it and hate it... well, dislike it. We take it when we know kind of where we’re going and when state parks are the primary destinations. Weighs about 1100 lbs. All aluminum. Revel honestly doesn’t know it’s there. No impact of mpg with the Revel. Turning radius is impacted some and the fact that it’s such a little trailer makes getting used to backing it a little fun but we have that down now too. We took it on the Florida winter trip because we knew we wanted bikes, room, rugs, extra clothes, fishing stuff and the kayaks. It just makes it easy to take everything that you “might” need. Betting you’d both love it and wonder why you bought it too just like us. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and being with us.
Does it cold in Florida in January at night? I’m planing on sleeping in my van for majority of the trip we’re looking at St Petersburg and Sarasota but I’m worried at night time it will be to cold to sleep in the van , of course we will have blankets possibly a sleeping bag , but does it ever get cold where you can’t sleep in the car ? I’m used to the cold I’m from Canada but never slept in the cold In a car lol
It can get cold for sure but not up north kind of cold. Each year there is usually one or two freezes where the temps get down below freezing. The area you're going to May get down Intro the 40s at night. The further south you go the less cold but hotter it gets during the day. St Pete is a great area.
Thanks for another great video filled with lots of info! I just got back from my Hunting Island road trip, and it was great. Please check out the video I just posted of my trip if you get a chance. Love & Prayers to you three!

Fabulous audio on those owls!! Thanks!!
Thanks you for letting us know. It was pretty amazing to experience.
I just love the happy meal dance

What a superb owl weekend.
Yes, it was... thanks for watching.

Lovin' the "happy dance" music! That steak and shrimp ruined my camping hamburgers and beans routine, lol! Gotta up my cooking game!
It was a special occasion, we don’t usually eat like that. Hamburger and burgers are normally our regulars. Thanks for watching.
We were just there and heard all the noise in the trees, I jokingly said it sounded like monkeys. Nice video.
Monkeys at Silver Springs east ocala
Thanks what we thought it sounded like too. We were pleasantly surprised to finally see the owls.
Really enjoying your videos and appreciate all your hard work. Cheers!
Thank you so much and we really appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.

Amen to that. Thanks for the comment.

Good morning friends. Have a great day.

It does a lot of cool stuff.
To get a better def price they have def fluid at truck stop at the pump and it's fresher.

The owls are pretty cool!
We love nature and especially birds so the owls were pretty special to us.
Good morning! That dinner looked delish!! I have never heard owls sound like That! Thanks for sharing!🌞🌴

That’s my fave park. There are so many habitats, The park is divided by the river, the North side is considered primitive. The South side where you are has a lovely lake with a beautiful wooded trail on one side and open trails on the other. It’s a great kayaking /canoe park too.
We wishes we would have had more time to stay there, it will definitely be on our list to go back to.
I live at a small town Hillsborough in California. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful trip and enjoy every day.
Thanks for joining us from California, we appreciate you watching and commenting.

Ever heard of Pinecraft, Fl? Seen another UA-camr do a video there. Its a cool amish town, everyone's on bikes. Y'all would fit right in.
Sounds interesting, we will check it out. Thanks for the suggestion.
That was amazing to ear the owls. Inever knew they made that sound.Another great video ,thanks. Great way to enjoy part of a Sunday morning. It looks pretty here to look out onto the lawn but its only 25 degrees in Ma right now. Enjoy the warm weather there.
We had never heard that noise and was really surprised it was an owl. It was an amazing experience for us, but we like that kind of stuff.
Loved, loved the view of the bridge -very cool !!!
Thank you.
thanks
You are welcome, and thank you for watching.
Did you go to the River Rapids at Hillsborough? And I haven't been to little manatee I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the videos
We did no go to River Rapids, is it nice there? Do we need to put that on our list? Thanks for watching.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle yes most definitely that's the best part of the park if you ask me. there is nice walking trails
Oh and did miss if you said what your connection is to the Skyway Bridge?
We use to spend winters in Florida (5 months), Owen was preforming (singing) so he had a lot of gigs across the bridge and I use to setup at the Coquina Beach market on Sunday’s so every week we would cross that bridge and it was the high light of the drive and something we never grew tried of. So it’s special when we get to return to it.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle ah, how very nice!
That was quite a griddle feast! Did it smell near the stables? I used to own horses and there were always tons of flies near the stable too. Loved the 360 camera shot on the bridge.
It did not smell at all and no flys, was kind of surprised but very happy.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle That is great. It looks like a nice uncrowded campground. We spent 2 weeks in Sanibel last month and really enjoyed the beach and warmth. Most of all the great shrimp and stone crab at the docks.
Do you not worry about aligators in these freshwater rivers?
Most of the time we do not worry about them, if you stay away from them they want bother you and most of the time you want even see any. However, if we think there is any possibility that we might see one we leave Maggie in the Van with the AC running.
How far ahead did you plan for your trip?
No far at all, most of the time we plan as we go... one to two weeks out.
Lowes for def???? Make sure you check the dates on it before you buy it
We always check the dates, we’ve made that mistake before and learned a very expensive lesson.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle good to hear you check the dates... No idea of your history...one of the things most new diesel owners don't no about
Do you find that the trailer negates the advantage of having a smaller RV?
You wouldn't believe how many conversations we have about just that. We have an unwritten rule we have for the trailer. If we know where we're going and IF we are mainly doing state or national parks and IF there's water fun on the route... then we take the trailer. If all those factors are not met we leave the trailer at home. Does it negate the nimble advantages? Yes and no... we can still fit in just about any park or spot. Parking is more difficult in towns but still doable. But having all the toys safely with us that are protected from the elements too most of the time it is really worth it.
My girlfriend gets queasy when we go over the top of the Skyway bridge.
I heard other people say the same thing about going over bridges, but thankfully I really enjoy them especially the Skyway bridge.
My husband said that if you have put the DEF fluid in the Van that many times then need to check for leak?
I was wondering about that too. My brother has a Winnebago view camper with the Mercedes diesel and I thought he said he only has to change it out every 5000 miles. I’m not sure about that. I’ll have to ask him again
We will definitely check it out. Thanks
John Schneider (yeah the dukes guy) just released a short vid on his channel regarding DEF fluid. May confirm your suspicions.
Thanks for sharing, we will check it out.
We love Hunting Island and we will definitely check out your video.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle That means so much to me. Thank you!
