I made this for the first time for my boyfriend's family, they make it very often (they are swiss and i'm spanish) and i was very nervous because i didnt expect it to be good but following this video it was so easy and they were super impressed!! My boyfriend even said it was better than the one his mom makes! 😱 Thank you!!!
Thanks for the memories. I swear I could almost smell it too (wink, wink). Brought back so many wonderful childhood memories of holidays, friends and great German pastries. Thanks again. (Thumbs up and a new sub.)
I just love your videos, one side of my husband’s family is German, I’m Mexican and now I’m learning to cook German food! 😅Thank you so much! I’m gonna make this for dinner tonight! My husband is going to love it!! ❤️
Watching you make this brought back some beautiful memories. My mom would make Strudel for church pot lucks and when my oldest brother came home on leave. I loved watching her. It was almost meditative watching her stretch the dough. I was horrible at it myself. Maybe the patience I've learned over the years will make for success when I try to make Strudel again.
I love you nice German furling this is the way to a man's heart,I have been waiting a long time for the real way to make it,and you came through Thank You And I'm surprised you didn't mention that at Christmas time in Germany it's traditional and a must to have apple strudle
Wunderbar! My grandmother made this, and have memories of watching her. I have her recipe, but never understood how to get the dough that thin. Thank you for showing the details that time erased! Your tips and ideas in all of your videos are spot on. Danke schön!
By the time you started streaching the dough I felt so nostalgic. Reminded of me, my sister and my mother opening the dough together. And in the first time I was really surprised of how large it can get. Really nice sticking to our family traditions. My mother made sure my sister and I learned our family recipes. Congratulations for your channel.
So I came here for the Strudel recipe, didn't expect the attractive lady in a dirndl with the German accent, now I'm subscribed. I'll be trying this and the red cabbage recipe as well.
Finally a German recipes in English and with a true graceful lady which is the best part to watch. Thank you very much! I tried strudel in Vienna on Christmas two years ago. Now I am thinking to try this recipe and looking for another sweet to bake that I hope U can find its recipe in your UA-cam. Christmas Stollen bread. Merry Christmas 🎄 🎅 🎁 ❄
Thank you so much! I have only had good strudel in Germany and really wanted to have some at home. Mine is in the oven now. Even though I watched you make it, I was shocked to see that tiny ball of dough get so big!
@My German Recipes thank you so very much for this beautiful recipe. This is our favorite of all desserts. We have never made one. Perhaps we will be able to now. We subscribed to your channel and we have the bell set. We cannot wait for another recipe. At Octoberfest here in Oregon, this is the treat we always have to have. We buy it just before leaving the site and we go home to enjoy each bite. Sonja and Christopher at Red Cardinal Kitchen say God bless you, your family, and your friends. We are connected.
I just wanna say that i love your channel. I met it through this video, cause i was looking for something to do with apples. I'm from Brazil and there ain't many recipes with apples in here. And i'm not a really good cooker, but i follow your instructions e it went very weel. Now i want to do everything that you teach because everything looks awsome for me. Thanks for sharing all this delicious things.
My first visit to your site and I have already subscribed. So happy to find authentic German food recipes. I have always enjoyed German cuisine, but had a hard time finding German food vlogs that I liked. My wife is also very interested in many of your recipes. I see you now live in Texas. We live in San Antonio and hope you enjoy our great state.
This was so much fun to make, and I even recruited the aid of my husband to help stretch it out very thin. It was absolutely perfect for an Oktoberfest party we attended. It was delicious and just stunning! Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe with us.
I’m looking forward to making this. The best I ever had was in a restaurant above a shop in Roedental when I was looking at Hummels and Mikasa plates. I loved the vanilla cream sauce that was poured over top. It really added something special.
Wunderbar! I made this for the first time and it was great. And it was fun to stretch out the dough with my hands. I used my mixer to knead the dough ( a wonderful invention) ha ha then I put the dough in the fridge for about 3-4 hrs. The dough was probably the best I have ever made. I will most definitely make this again. Thanks you are a great teacher……👍🏻
Hi. Your recipe is so wonderful. I will try to make it in a few days for dinner with my German in-laws. I'm confident that following your recipe/ instructions will be fool proof! Thanks again.
Oh MyMy !! the day I can stretch my dough like this.... I am done :) !!!! Its beautiful and I am super impress ! I have a thing, I never succed at any sort of dough. It is becoming a running gag... But Here I am going and trying this recipe ! Thank for sharing !
Ich habe Ihr ausführliches Video genossen; es gibt so viele Rezepte; ich habe Ihr und ein anderes gemischt => der Teig ruht für meinen dritten Strudel der Woche. Merci depuis la France !
You’re inspiring me to make this ..yesterday I made a somewhat of rustic apple pie.. which I am now having with my coffee this morning and watching your wonderful presentation❤ from Frederick Maryland❤
I came here after watching the restaurant scene in inglorious bastard movie which had apfel strudel and it made me extremely hungry. Looks so good. Thanks for teaching us and greetings from India 😊🙏🏻
Thank you so much for the recipe! Apfelstrudel has been my favorite dessert since I first tried it on a trip to Vienna and now that we're in confinement here in Spain and I have so much free time I figured I'd try to make it myself. I divided the recipe into three parts because I was scared to work with such a big sheet of dough 😂 it took triple the time but they came out perfect and delicious! 💕

WENDY, it is great that you get the CONFIDENCE. For us it is INSPIRATION. Great channel, is it not? Have a good day now. OH, and a French Vanilla ice cream goes great.
I've always loved apple strudel, but every time I order it in a restaurant it is cold and I like it warm with ice cream or whipped cream. I'm going to try this for a little Oktoberfest celebration with my family. Also, you do a great job explaining the steps!
My mom was from Munich and this brought back so many warm memories. I remember watching her make this recipe many times (though for some reason I don’t remember the breadcrumbs) but I’ve never tried it. I definitely want to now that I’ve watched your video! Thanks so much for sharing. New subscriber, here. ☺️
OMGoodness, I now recall how when a child my Mother made these little bow shaped pastries with strudel dough and added dabs of jam. Ha ha ha, I only now 18:10 remember it when you made that little leftover mini jam strudel. Lol, over 50 years ago...thanks for jogging the memories ;-) .
Your commentary is so entertaining 😂 how your family would like to have dinner some time 😂. Wow. That was wonderful video. danke sehr! ❤ i will make for thanksgiving
Lol, yeah. I could not see that during recording and later, when I saw it I was like 🤦♀️. But that's life in my kitchen, things sometimes get messy ... even the hair :-)

Thank you for your beautiful recipe. I have a request from a friend for her friend who is in her last days of life . So though I’ve made it before I wanted to make sure it is perfect.
Du siehst sehr schön aus! Nettes Dirndl. 🇩🇪🇺🇸 Barbara, the quark one sounds really good. You make me feel better bc i have done that with bread crumbs before too; realized they were seasoned and stopped myself from almost adding to a dessert 😄
I was looking for this kind of recipe for days already. Thank you so much!! I'm sure this is the traditional recipe and I'm so happy because you teach also the pastry, not just making the feeling and using a ready one from the grocery store!! 😍😍😍👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I'm going to bake it and I'll be back to say how it was😋😋😋 P.s.: sorry for my bad english 😔
I love that you haven't put dried fruit in it. I hate dried fruit (currants, sultanas, raisins) and always pick them out! As a Brit, it makes Christmas a little difficult as so many of our traditional Christmas food is made from this mix!
Sounds like you had stollen. A lot of people either like the fruit mix or absolutely hate it! 😆I love it all including fruit cake and mince meat pie!! Think I'm the ONLY one in the family who did! And yes, I love to make them, too. My homemade minced meat filling takes me 3 days mostly letting it meld in the fridge. But its not cheap to make with all you need!

For good food you should search for Austrian food (like appelstrudel) instead of german!🤣

I also like to make the dough paper thin and only roll it over once and make another 1 or 2
its better for diabetics too.

My Austrian Oma says the dough must be thin enough to see your marriage contract :)
