This was hilarious Uncle Luke!!! I know its roasting but I think with all of the roasts have have a sprinkling of truth in them. Keep them coming. C1 VX has its faults for sure but it is a good card for families. My credit is too good to be a C1 customer so they only want me to have the C1 Platinum and Secured cards LOL.

Great video Luke!! Absolutely loved it. And this coming from a Venture X fanboy. I upgraded a Venture to a Venture X with no bonus because it actually costs me less. The $300 spend isn't difficult to hit, and if you do it on Delta (probably others), you still earn your Delta miles and your status carries through, as I was upgraded based on status. Sure, it cost me 5% on that $300, but not a big deal. I recently transferred 120K Cap 1 points to Flying Blue as part of a trip when I got almost 6cpp, so this card earns me money. My wife just got one as well as the 75K SUB will certainly go towards a future trip.
2% catch-all cards to me are underrated, with mine, when I'm not earning a SUB, go towards car insurance, electric, gas, water, trash, and every mundane spend you can think of. I earn more points @ 2% than I do at 5% on flights.
💯 it’s a super solid travel card
I suggest you to use Wyndham business for utilities, or USB Cash+. Yes, I do use for insurance sometimes.

Luke, your video convinced me to take the 30% transfer bonus and move all my points to Virgin. C1 offers transfer bonuses like once every eclipse. I know that they won’t give me a S1 Card so I don’t want to stay in the ecosystem. I’ll get a CSR since I fly out of NYC.
I have a lot of virgin points that have sat for a long time. Hopefully you find a way to redeem them so they don’t sit around!

I have the capital one quick silver and they refuse to give me a credit line increase. There excuse is theres not enough activity on the card. However they keep trying to offer me that savor one card. I wont close the card because it's my oldest card lol
I would suggest getting that savor 1 card. It’s a great one
I can grok your POV. I have the classic 2x miles on everything Venture $95 AF card. If I traveled more than I do these days I would accept a product upgrade if they offered it. But I have no plans to apply for it outright. Other than their lounges at IAD and Denver and international partner's lounges, there's few extra benefits with X that justify the extra $300. It's still 2x points on my everyday purchases...meh!
Yes I would upgrade. As long as you travel at least like once a year. If you don’t travel at all. I don’t think I’d even keep the venture. But BX is worth it as long as you can book something in the portal once a year

I was thinking about your upcoming Amex Gold video. With Resy popping up in the refreshed Delta cards, Gold seems like the perfect place to add a Resy credit. Maybe $15 a month to help justify a fee increase. What do you think?

AU on personal cards do not actually count towards 5/24. They may initially see them but when you call recon you can clear that up. And no employee cards don’t count either. Neither are facially responsible for the card

Hot take but I actually like travel portals. You get to see the all the options, you can do mixed bookings, and there's minimal up-sells.

I think portals are good for hotels. especially when you have 2 upgrade options (ie FHR, THC) to weigh and compare options.

I do prefer to have certain perks taken away and keep the AF of $395 as long as possible.
Once Priority Pass Restaurant perk is taken away from CSR, at least all three members:
Amex Plat, Cap1VX & CSR will have pretty much the same Priority Pass perks. Which of these three will raise the AF first?
That’s a great question. I don’t think Chase can raise it since it doesn’t even come close to mitigating there as is.
I cancelled both CSR and Platinum long time ago. VX will ne next.

Super easy for me to use the credit. Needed a decent hotel for a football game, easy redemption on the portal and same price as booking it direct. I only get this card every few years for the welcome bonus.
I will say if you aren’t finding great bookings on air Canada you’ve gotta look harder. Lufthansa, ANA all there at great rates.
Air Canada is one of my favorites. I was trying to make a funny.
I'm currently having disaster with Air Canada. 81k miles stolen via known security hole. I'm fighting with them for more than two months to get them back, still missing 9k. Customer service is even worse than C1, it's absolutely useless.

From what I understand the fee is not waived just by canceling the card. I haven’t tested it.
