What's your experience with lifemiles? I've heard it's hard to get in contact with a customer service rep if needed. Also, what do you recommend for stays in Lisbon. Thank you
@@arabellaAJ this will be my first trip to Lisbon so I don’t really have any recommendations. Lifemiles does have a reputation but their CEO has said that they’re focusing on getting better and personally I feel like their website has gotten more stable. I think coming out their a couple new credit cards and a new loyalty subscription service will help CS. I’m positive towards lifemiles for now.
Just did my first flight point redemption. 7.8cpp to London. Plan on making a video about it on my other channel. Debating on waiting for booking the return flight which will blow it out the water

I did that exact same business class redemption last December, JFK -> LIS with TAP Portugal. The lie-flat seats weren't as comfortable as i imagined they would be, but still well worth it for 35k LifeMiles. And the Turkish Airlines lounge in the same JFK terminal is spectacular! Eating a good meal there prior to the flight let's you skip the first meal service and get more rest/sleep

Luke, I had a strange (?) thing happen. staying domestic, the capital one portal beat transferring points to the direct hotel brands (Hilton and Marriott). 13500 points on the C1 portal vs 20000 + direct brands. have you ran across this?
@@Boxerexp hotel points are going to hate a much different value than capital one miles. Cap1 is always going to be worth 1 cent while Hilton and Marriott are likely going to have less value so they’ll be more points

I flew this last month. Seats were really comfortable. We were pretty happy with it, especially for the price. Lisbon was our favorite city in Portugal. Great vibe!

Lisbon is an awesome city. It's so many hills but I'm sure you'll be fine.
The Pasteis de Nata are must haves. The original ones are not the best ones though. Make sure you go to Manteigaria... we had them first and they basically ruined every other Pasteis de Nata for us. I mean.... they are all still delicious but Manteigaria were just NEXT LEVEL good. Have fun!

Luke, I was looking into this last night lol. I was looking from JFK or either BOS. I was only able to find the 63k in biz which isn’t bad with the 15% transfer bonus. I was looking in January. I heard it can get pretty rainy so I’m unsure if I’m going to book. Couldn’t find that 35k biz 😢
Are you going to be staying at Hiltons? I saw some good rates at the emerald in January. I think TAP flies out of T1 of JFK so you might have access to Lufthansa lounge not positive. L
@@Thomas-ky5xg the 35k is only jfk I think. I couldn’t find a good Hilton deal for 3 people so I booked two room at a holiday inn express. This is a short trip so I think that will be fine

I’ve been lucky enough to actually visit here. Make sure you go to Sintra only like 40mins away, it’s just as unique as Lisbon and arguably cooler.
And you have to take the Lisbon ferry across the water to the other side so you can view the city as a whole from across the water, it’s truly one of the best vistas I’ve ever seen for a city.
I’m 100 percent certain Lisbon is the most underrated destination in the world right now, but it’s slowly but surely catching steam as a must see destination. And for a fun fact it’s pronounced and spelled Lisboa in Portuguese.

I definitely second checking out Sintra. I actually stayed 2 nights in sintra because there's so many different palaces/castles to see that staying nearby was very convenient. Also some great food and buffets to try out there.

I tried to use Avianca to book this exact trip a couple months ago and I could not figure out how to navigate the website lol. So, I used Aeroplan instead. I’m still happy with the redemption but yours knocked it out of the park.
