I just want to validate you, it’s so hard and many levels caring for elderly and watching them age. I relate and I can see it took a toll on your usually enthusiasm, but it was nice to see you revel in the gratitude and abundance. Again, I relate. Life is everything all at once. Excited to watch the abundance roll in!
Hi Brooke, I loved seeing your lovely bounty and I can't wait to seeing the cooking that follows. I hope that the sweet grandparent is doing well. Sending kind thoughts your way:):):)
I was relaxing looking at planters for my grapes and I saw it said you just uploaded a video 20mins ago… I sat up in my seat so fast and was like ooooh, there’s a garden harvest video up 💁🏽♀️🤣 I love that you’re semi-close to my area so I have someone to watch that is experienced in gardening in my general region lol.
@@WhatBrookeGrows You’re welcome! Thank you for showing us your garden success and giving good gardening tips! Your tomato success gives me hope since this is my first year growing tomatoes. I hope I haven’t started them too late, but I just moved less than a month ago, so I just bought a celebrity and lemon boy tomato plant from Home Depot the other day. They’re only like 6-8in tall right now.
Hey Brooke, I hope your grandparents are getting better. I believe the tomato you where asking about is "Hungarian Heart". I grow those for sauces and they look just like that.
It is the time of year that the harvest gets a little over whelming. I am giving away cherry tomatoes to just about everyone I can think of. Coyote, a very small very sweet cherry tomato, seems to be the favorite of people at church. One of the men of the church I saw eating them during song service. Got to love country churches.
Nice crop so far! We have had an unusually wet/cool spring so I think that has slowed some stuff down (although that's getting ready to change - hello heat 🥵). My cuc's are just now starting to get big enough to climb. A few of my tomato plants are loaded, but only 1 tomato has ripened so far - a Nova paste tomato. After tasting it, I'm hoping the rest of the Nova's turn out better. It was very meaty but "meh" on flavor. On the plus side, this is the 1st year I have had so many tomatoes on the vines, green or otherwise. And I do have some Lemon Boy tomatoes that should be starting to ripen (so, so yummie). I'm hoping I might finally be getting the hang of it. I'm really looking forward to your end of year round up to give me some ideas of what variety's to try next year.
😁😁That's exactly how I get dress shaking my clothes 3 times just in case there is something like 🦂🦂🦂🦂 and my boots in case of 🐍🐍I have never seen scorpions or snakes here but you know jus in case, since I grow up in a place with lots of 🦂🐍🕷
You're a good person to help your grandparents. Family is hard sometimes. Thanks for your videos.
Thank you ♥️♥️

YES!! That’s it :) also thank you, they’re doing better!!
Hi Brooke, other than picking early, how do you deter pests from getting at your tomatoes?

I learn a lot from you. Did you grow poblanos from seed or a transplant from store?
I actually got seeds from Baker Creek years ago and started them myself 🥰

Hi Renee!! The spring has been AMAZING but we are def in summer now. Crossing my fingers for your tomatoes!!
I just harvested my tomatoes here in Houston. How do you cook those thin eggplant? Enjoyed the video. Thanks
I chop them up, sauté them and throw them in stir fry!!
We live west of Austin. NOT looking forward to the temps this week! Especially since I’m feeling too lazy to put up shade cloth right now🥴
Yep I am with you! I’m not even bothering with shade cloth, just going to let a lot of the tomatoes slow down and then plant okra, sweet potatoes, etc

I think the trauma never leaves you tbh 😂😂
I was excited to grow Brads atomic grape too, but found it has zero flavor. Won't be growing that one agian.
