      Barefoot Gaming Don’t listen to this guy. His claims are so ridiculous the thread he started on iRacing was locked by the moderators. He’s some nobody who wanted DOFReality to give him a free platform to review. He even admitted he has no followers but would build up his following. Igor thought about it and decided it didn’t make sense to give some rando a free platform, so this Ryan guy has been on an internet-wide quest to libel Igor for deciding it didn’t make financial sense to give a free P6 to some guy with no followers who had no value to add. That’s just a wise business decision, and now as a result this guy’s life is ruined as well as the life of his heartbroken 14 year old. Whatever.

    Hi I have H6 try to simulate R22 helicopter with P3D, but motion very jerky. During heave test, jerking is always greatest when moving in the same direction as the load. That is, if user weight is insufficient to balance the gas springs, then the heave test is jerky in the upward direction.

    I totally want one! I have one concern though. Apparently the entire rig and pilot weight is a cantilevered load on the motor gear driveshafts. In the video it appears that the end of the shaft is moving/bending relative to the drive housing during fast motions.. If that is true, I would worry that the shaft would eventually fail. Would love to hear the impressions of anyone who has watched it live. Do those shafts look like they can take the load? This would not be an issue on the 3 axis version because the weight is supported on the seat frame pivot.

    • @barefootgaming6265
      @barefootgaming6265  4 роки тому +1

      I THINK you can see it better in action in one of the following videos I did on the H6
      ua-cam.com/video/oi8yvWzZXVw/v-deo.html
      I did another video on the H6 with flight as well as the one above
      ...to ME, watching other people use the H6 (as well as all the editing I've done of the videos) I don't see and flex or reason to believe it would be an issue over time. However there ARE weight restrictions on the device listed on the website, so I'm assuming that would play into it...as well as the long piston between each arm that runs vertically (three in total on the H6).
      If I'm not addressing your concern however, let me know, I may be missing which part you're concerned would fail? And I'm not expert by any means - just trying to help Tracy :D

      Barefoot Gaming Thanks! Just what I needed to see. I didn’t notice the 3 gas springs in your video and was looking at the picture on the DOF Reality web sight which I don’t think had them. They must have added those later in production. I definitely plan on getting this system. Now I just hope Sony will add support for Gran Turismo, and MS Flightsim 2020 of course.

    Thank you, great review. The 3dof is more in my price range. In you opinion, is surge, heave and sway a must. Do you think if you didn't have them and only had pitch, roll and yaw that you'd still get a proper experience in flight Sims, especially combat.

    • @gmerariu
      @gmerariu 4 роки тому +2

      Yes. The 3dof is more than enough. Some people even replaces sway by roll and b surge by pitch as the g forces simulates those better than actual directional move

      Thank you very much KenZed :D - here is what I can say...I have never tried the DOF Reality H3, and I would LVOE to be able to do a comparison video of how they differ for differences of real world feel (perhaps one day DOF will send one for a review) but I CAN say in complete honesty that movement of ANY sort lined up with the game your playing is freeking incredible. Surge, heave and sway DO add, but there is no "proper experience"...I would say if the H6 is past your budget do NOT worry about what you're missing, and focus on what you would be getting with a 3DOF rig, as there is no question you'll be very impressed.
      IF however you need anything else answered though, don' hesitate to ask. No matter the rig you decide to go with, it's a big purchase and if I can help in any way clarify something I absolutely want to.

    • @barefootgaming6265
      @barefootgaming6265  4 роки тому

      In a perfect world, it would be either flight OR racing, but I'm in the same boat as you and use it for both. I leave my wheel connected as it gets more use and have it setup to add / remove my HOTAS with velcro to the mounts.
      No question it an be very full when getting in and out, but at least the controls themselves can all be hooked up at once without any complications - as you are correct, removing the wheel for flight would be all kinds of a pain in the butt :D
      ...and as soon as Flight Sim 2020 adds VR I'm looking forward to reviewing it in the H6 (I've been keeping a close eye on the forums, and hopefully the wait won't be TOO long).

    I find it difficult to use the 'extreme' holes due to the platform shaking heavily when I was climbing or diving (pitch) in flight sims (DCS) slowly. Did you happen to experience this at all? Also can you explain the part about raising the platform to not hit the motors? I have the same issue with it hitting as well. Thanks!

    • @barefootgaming6265
      @barefootgaming6265  4 роки тому +2

      I am on it tonight (hopefully!) to try their solution for the not hitting the motors part. As to DCS shaking, I didn't experience that myself, but I may not have been running with the default setting in SimRacing Studio. What I would recommend in your case (with the shaking) is first make sure your SRS software is most up to date, and if you're still experiencing issues reach out to Gilbert direct at SimRacing Studio to get his feedback. He's fantastic to work with and it sounds like it could be a software config issue.
      I'll keep you posted on the raising the platform fix though! Making a run to Home Depot tonight to see if I can get this figured out ;)

      Barefoot Gaming Any news? My P6’s pedal plate also hit the front left motor. I wound up taking it apart and turning over the center bar that the pedal plate is mounted to, so the pedals are raised for a more Formula One driving position. That means the pedal plate doesn’t hit the motor, but the bottom of the upright steering mount does. I’ve adjusted the arm ends to raise the moving platform but it doesn’t raise it enough.
      What has your experience been with raising yours?

    How do I know if I have two separate circuits in my house and how would I go about connecting this to both?

    • @barefootgaming6265
      @barefootgaming6265  4 роки тому +1

      I think the best way to explain this is, think about if you've ever flipped a breaker. Too much stuff on one circuit will cause one breaker to flip. This comes with two boxes that each need to be plugged in...and odds are if you plug them into the same outlet they are on the same breaker...each breaker is one circuit. If you want to test it out, plug something into an outlet and flip the breaker for that plug. Good evening Pankaj V, I wish I could be of more help on that front, but I've ONLY tried the H6. The mechanical aspects are for sure similar and I would think the H3 (the P are a professional model, and the H are home series) would be fine, although you'd get less types of motion (3DOF vs 6DOF) I'm certain it would still add like crazy to your experience :D

      There are two rods and one piston connected to each motor. You'll note there is a nut on each end of two of those rods. What I did is take a M10 nut, and make it so there are TWO nuts (side by side) on each end. What this does is effectively life your entire floating part of the rig up two nuts in height - and you should now miss the motor.

    How easy is it to get in and out the chair? And what do you mean by 2 circuits?

    • @barefootgaming6265
      @barefootgaming6265  4 роки тому +1

      This is very dependent on the setup....for example if you watch our DOF Reality racing review you'll see there is an "arm" or bar that runs across the front for mounting the wheel to. IF (like myself) you want to be able to switch from racing to flight, it's not easy to get in and out of. I tend to hold the seat while I step on the frame (the frame is very strong and doesn't move at all) and kind of drop into the seat.
      If however you're only using it for flight it's really easy to get into as you can approach it from the front instead of the side. Basically the more equipment you have strapped to it the harder it is to get in (but feels more and more like an actual cockpit). Hopefully that makes sense? If you need more clarity let me know and I'm on it.
      Two circuits. Again for 110 voltage (for example North America)...two circuits means you can't plug them into the same outlet for sure, and more so, if you were to go to your breaker box and flip that outlet off, you'd want to plug the other black controller box into a circuit that was still on. This CAN be problematic, because in most rooms all the plugs are on the same circuit (you hit the breaker and all the plugs in the room are dead). So they recommend running on two different circuits so as to prevent too much draw on one circuit (all the power running to one breaker) causing your breaker to keep flipping.
      I've not tested this myself and run it on a plug that is shared by my computer for example, and the other circuit I'm running on in my basement is running to my sump pump.
      Again though, if you need more clarity I'll be glad to give it another try :)

    Hi BFG and all. I've got my H6 on the way right now (got a week and a bit left shipping time though still, agony ! 😢) I will be using it with VR BUT i've seen a bunch of vids with rigs using fixed mounted monitors. My question is, having the screens fixed whilst you're bobbing about in the rig....doesn't that like totally kill the immersion?? like you're racing in a car whilst sat on a beachball that's rocking around?

    • @barefootgaming6265
      @barefootgaming6265  4 роки тому +3

      That would be my take on it as well Gray...this is really designed from the beginning for VR (in my personal opinion of course). I guess if you strapped all the monitors to the H6 itself, but the balance would be totally off as would the weight limits within a very short amount of time.
      I would NOT recommend this setup in non VR

    Great review. I'm thinking of getting one of these for playing Elite Dangerous, and I'm wondering how good is the software integration? Is it just taking information from the joystick, or is SRS picking up more complete telemetry from the game? When you lift off your ship from a dock, do you feel the movement in the heave axis? Six degrees of freedom is great, but if it isn't actually being used, I might go with a less expensive solution.

    • @barefootgaming6265
      @barefootgaming6265  4 роки тому +2

      Heyo William, I can tell you that ALL info is derved from the game itself, not from the joysticks or wheels. The software is made by Sim Racing Studio and yes, you absolutely feel the heave on takeoff. As to level of expense, I've ONLY tried the H6, I'd love to be able to tell you how the H3 or P3 performs in comparison with games like Elite, but I can't speak to that (yet! Bug the DOF guys and let them know you want me to compare them ;) )
      If you have any other questions I can help you with though William, I'll be glad to in any way I can!

    I wish you would have shown how you mounted the horas, particularly the part I can't see too well, the throttle. IMO Did Reality did the most piss poor job of a mounting solution for anything except Vipril sticks. The mounting plates don't match for anything except for it. When o contacted them they basically told me I need to fabricate a solution! Paid over $5500US for the pro version. I shouldn't have to devise a solution. Now it mostly sits because ergonomics is non existent. I feel that I should've gone with the Racing Cube for my flight sim motion platform.

      Thats a good point about the HOPTAS setup. I actually did it slightly different than intended as I want it easily removable to swithc between flight / driving. I attached the plates to the bars that support the rods / pistons. It also gives more room to get in and out. I think I'll be putting out another video addressing all the things people have requested and that's a VERY good point for me to cover. Thanks Nona Bizness :)

    • @barefootgaming6265

      HA! That's not a silly question with all the bells and whistles attached. You can step in from either the right or left side, unless you ONLY have a HOTAS setup without a wheel...in which case you can step in from the front (as the bars holding the wheel are not required UNLESS you install a wheel). In MY setup that has both wheel and HOTAS installed, you get in from the side (like a car) just behind where the HOTAS is setup. Hope that helps!

      The motion is actually SUPER smooth when the game calls for it, and only jerky when you crash or hit turbulence. Flip to 1:43 for an example of it moving very smoothly.
      The problem with showing lots of smooth movement from a distance is it looks like I'm just sitting in a chair - hence the reason I tried to show both in the review. IF you have any more questions about it though, just let me know and I can clarify Senhsational V - always looking to help :)
