Thanks for your video, I just did the work and saved $550 dollars. The dealer shop wanted to charge me $600 including parts; paid $50 for both thermostats and did the repair in about 40 minutes. Thanks again.
I was going to change it my self on chevy 2016 3500 mechanic said it was a pain in the butt, but i think i can do it my self after watching this, thank you very much
Thanks Man!!!! Perfect length video! Didn't leave any steps out and easy to follow along. Sat the laptop on the air cleaner and played your video as I did it. 20 minute job total. THANKS! Only comment would be to mention what the torque spec is on the bolts and if its not critical then mention that.
You may have said and I missed it but what year truck is this. I am getting ready to change mine out on a 17 L5P and wasnt sure if yours is the same. Good video and very helpful
Nope! Kept the fluid right in the truck. Since the thermostats sit on top, there shouldn't be much coolant, if at all, in there... especially if the truck sits a few hours after running.
Hey wondering if this solved the aformentioned problems in the beginning of this clip? Same symptoms for me in my L5p, pressurized cooling system, leaking out overflow reserviour, no exhaust gasses present in overflow. Replaced reserviour to no avail, thinking it has to be thermostats as well??

Good job youngster.
Thank you!
Thanks Bro for the video. Didn’t know what I was up against.
Thank you Brandon just want I needed.
Great video brother!!
I already did!!!
Thank you!
Is there a gasket between the housing and the block.
Nope! Just the little O Rings around the thermostats themselves.
If your looking at it from the core support, from the front which one is the 185 and which is the 180 one, like what’s the front and what’s the rear

It wasn’t mentioned, however it is a 2011 LML.
What year is your truck? Is it a LMM or LML?
I have a 2011 LML that I’m gonna be working on.
Yep, I also have an 11 LML
@@bschoenborn awesome thanks this video should help me out.
Did you have to drain fluid first from the bottom radiator hose?
Nope! Kept the fluid right in the truck. Since the thermostats sit on top, there shouldn't be much coolant, if at all, in there... especially if the truck sits a few hours after running.
@@bschoenborn Just wanted to come back and say thanks! I did the job this past weekend and thanks to your instructional, had no trouble with the job!
Awesome! Glad I could help🤘🏼
@@bschoenborn just got this done, following your lead. Thanks buddy! 🙂

Mine did end up being the headgaskets unfortunately, but I would definitely try the thermostats first!
