  • 2020 has been an action packed year for all at Dromod. Covid19 has forced us to close our doors to the public. Work has not stalled however, throughout the Summer while public health guidance allowed, a limited number of volunteers undertook essential work onsite. This has included completely relaying the line beyond half way with replacement sleepers, fresh ballast and clips.
We appeal for your support at this time, we do not know if we can re-open in 2021. We have bills to pay we would be grateful for any donation you can give, 100% of which goes to the railway: cavanandleitri...
Throughout the year, much safety work was also undertaken including Nancy's first boiler test at Dromod which was a success. We also started the restoration of our original Tralee & Dingle Light Railway 3rd class carriage 7T of 1890.
There is lots of exciting progress and we would encourage new members to support us, you can join online here: cavanandleitri...

The reopening of all closed railway lines on this island of Ireland would cut down on 1) Traffic Jams, 2) Car Accidents/Road Deaths & 3) Pollution there's need for 24 hour trains in summer & St. Stephen's Day trains too.
