While I have great respect for the expertise of a master such as Peter, I also have to express my admiration and respect for Shomu. He accepted such strong criticism of his hard work and artistic sensibilities with real humility. That is the essence of a great student.
When coming up against a master that is the only way to handle it. Peter was a master when Shomu was probably in diapers. I’d do the same. But good on him!
At 0:28 Peter simply rotating the tree to what could be argued to be a better front for an informal upright, showing everyone, but not commenting, and then going right back to what the customer/student wants is what I love about him.
Straightforward, honest, but forgiving. Not harsh or pushy.
Better at 00:28 clearly way better . I was surprise at the end .
I kind of liked the windswept look when Peter rotated it at that timeframe. Then maybe chopped off the top.
Dr. Chan.... another very dense video. The key, "if you want a Litetati... A Litetati is like a SINGLE BRUSH STROKE." It can't be explained any more elegantly and simply. 🙏😔🙏
Peter is a legend! Without a worry he undoes all the work and totally changes all the hard work.
The customers face is priceless, a look of horror and regret. Hahahaha
Totally agree about saving wire. I use and reuse it for years.
I have a box of used wires for fastening. I always try to use new wires unless I run out of wires then I grab a piece out of the scrape box.
i practice my saving wire because of Peter👍saving our environment!
What a superb transformation. I could not envisage the outcome at the start of this video but Peter obviously did and was proved to be spot on.
Another interesting and informative post, making my post church, post shopping afternoon tea enjoyable and educational.
Transformed into a very interesting but simple Tree!
Less is more. I like the trimmed version. Junipers get energy from the foliage. I killed a few by trimming too much. Hope his tree survives.
Excellent work sir.আপনি শুধু স্পর্শ করলেন, সাথে সাথেই বনসাই গাছে পরিনত হল। loves from kolkata, India🇮🇳
Very interesting video! I must say, I totally agree with your design concept and I would indeed remove that "Jin branch", pointing to the right (it crosses the main branch) and - in my opinion - conflicts with the literati idea.
Thanks team. Quite a transformation and an excellent lesson on Literati.
You have a new subscriber here Peter! I love your videos and I’m learning so much!
Just changing the position of the trunk in the pot made a ton of difference.
An interesting re-interpretation. Playing to its strengths. From a zero to a hero 😉
I like that - Zero to Heron.
@@peterchan3100 T-shirt. Called it 🤣🤣🤣
Hard decisions, but the outcome proves Peter to be right!
Was the student happy with the end result? It seemed Peter bit the bullet for him. No way back now! The tree turned out quite interesting!
Hi, I can tell you he was happy with the result as I was with them this day.. shiny had come to ask Peter’s advice while I was sat working on a tree with Peter and they briefly chatted about what to do before then deciding it would make a good video for others to learn from…. Xx
Shomu xx
@@katiebrodie5508 thanks for the explanation, sometimes it’s hard to see what is disclosed off camera.
Peter, thank you for your very informative and inspiring videos. Could I request that you make a video tutorial on creating a slant style bonsai using an Alberta Spruce or similar starting material? I'd like to know the rules and conventions on slant style bonsai.
Thank you again Peter for another helpful video!! Truly amazing
Loved this video. I too believe in recycling.
Clear critique. Boom, take that! And saving wire is always a good thing! I enjoyed this video! Thank you Shomu!
"I wont do it all. You can do it in your own time huh?" Continues peeling off bark*. haha. I love Peter.
He knows his stuff! The years of experience shines through.
great! Yes saving wire , no waste , ofcourse you have the last laugh! ...We care a lot!🌸🌳
Good lesson thanks Peter
Absolutely love this
,. Thx for sharing Peter.. 👍
I share your philosophy of living and won't be amongst those who would laugh at you. Our earth is polluted enough. Why waste the usefulness of our still useful materials. You're awesome!
I really really like this Tree! 😍😍
Gosto muito do seu trabalho, fica com DEUS e muita saúde e paz.
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 thanks Peter
The patience of the guy to wirethe tree..
Hi Peter
Namaste 🙏
Love from 🇮🇳
It took 4 min to bite the bullet
But it was worth the bite 😄 🤣 😂
Hi master Peter Chann I don't want to tell you what to do but,you should make as many utube video's as possible regardless of topic, because when you pass this life and move on to the next. We will all so much information that master Peter Chann has left us with.Ernie smith from brisbane Australia
Come on! What a tactless thing to say! Besides Peter is already putting out videos after videos. He doesn’t seem to need that sort of “encouragement”.
@@pansepot1490 👍
@@pansepot1490 Ernie means well. He is so right . I should be working all hours of the day - and night.
I agree, save the wire! No matter how much money I have.
I would have kept the highest and the lowest branches and wired themin a slightly different shape.
If you did a true spiral jin around the trunk, would it not stop the flow of sap through the cambium?
I’m new to bonsai but I don’t imagine so because a a spiral should leave a path of cambium all the way up, since it doesn’t cut around the circumference completely at any given point.
@@wesleyhooper2413 --You are right.
How expensive is such a tree? Thirteen or thirty years old?
🌳☕👍
I wonder how many people are in a state of shock after Peter cuts 75% of their tree away.
💕👌👍
mantap bosku
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
What’s the kind of pot Peter suggested?
Drum pot.
A bit late, i know 😊
@@JoeyPuopolo "always round pot, always round pot"
A stripped shirt? That’s a 1st
New hot look!
I've seen him in striped shirts before. He's such a hipster lol. Here's one more ua-cam.com/video/gbKTVLcVGLo/v-deo.html
Is it true Peter your nick name was in the old days chooper chan?
My grandfather was carpenter and tree fella.
👍👌🙂
Attempt at a literati
Is He form Bangladesh?
He lives near me but he is a Bengali and graduated from IIT - Kharagpur same as me. Not Bangladesh.
I'm early!!!!
I liked it until the spiral shari. In my opinion it ruined the natural look of a very nice tree.
Mr Chan look at my work. And........................... it's gone.
Less is more.
Fiiiiiiirst
YAAAAY!!!! Were early!
Grow up! 😂
