Peter showing us his flexibility while wearing his T-shirt the wrong way around. I just hope the customer doesn´t fall out of his chair watching his tree get a "light trim" while on holiday. :D
Wearing the T-shirt the wrong way round is always a talking point with my staff and friends. There is a reason behind eveyrthing I do. So I will reveal the secret - The seams and labels on vests and T-shirts always annoy me, that is why I wear them inside out. I have done this since I was a boy.
@@peterchan3100 ha ha, thank you for your response Peter. I am always to first to cut off any tags and labels from my clothing but I would not go that far :) Anyway I love your videos and have recently started to actually do bonsai despite being interested for more than 5 years. Greetings from Dresden (Germany)
Seeing your foot come up to the branch as you held the camera made my day-your determination to educate us is more than appreciated. The tree ended up another masterpiece! Thanks for this!
Thank you Peter for another session of mental health. Lovely work. I expected even more pruning but the customer should take a some initiative. He is fortunate to have you.
What a fantastic transformation. I would be ecstatic if this were my tree. If the owner isn't happy I don't know what would make him happy. What a lucky man he is to have his tree transformed into a thing of even more beauty. Just brilliant Peter.
As a beginner this was a great lesson to behold. Thank you for that. I have just begun a new journey with my Chinese Elm. I’m watching as much videos as I can to learn for the future. It was a good lesson.
Your vision is wonderful. I would like to see a follow up video of the owner's reaction to his tree when he comes to retrieve it. I am sure he will be amazed. 🙂
Peter , Every time I watch one of your tree styling video's, the finished tree is stunning ,this is a vey nice Juniper at the start and if it was mine I would have to thank you for the transformation, from nice to stunning .
Great work sir! The Tree Work, to me, almost becomes secondary given the vast amounts of life experience and wisdome you drop so casually in your videos. Rly think thats what distinguishes you on youtube and among other Bonsai-Content-Creators. Well that and the inside-out-shirt-style you show of ;)
I really didnt realize how big this tree was until around 6:53 or so when I saw you next to it from a short distance. VERY nice specimen tree. I have 2 Shimpaku, ( not sure what variety ) and will never see them get to this size. But you have inspired me again. Problem is, pruning foliage on these type of juniper is beyond my knowledge. Branch pruning isnt much of a problem, but foliage pruning is, I'm always afraid I will take too much, or badly prune the foliage. My 2 tree's were badly pruned a few years back and have finally grown alot of back budding to fill out the tree. So I'm pretty nervous, even after all these years, to prune these...great vid, thanks again Peter.
I have kishu cutting from herons. Growing in a large pot, for a future bonsai. Feeding it well. Its getting to a nice tree. V. Rare in the uk. .perfect for bonsai . Thanks peter. Looks great
It looks so easy and if it was any other type of tree I would probably be fine but for some reason juniper is like cryptonite to me. However, i am determined to overcome this shortcoming by copying your every move. Your advice certainly worked with my azalea pruning - I now have loads of new shoots lower down the cut branches. So thank you :)
I appreciate the importance of a good UA-camy thumbnail, but I like it when you only see the finished product once you've watched the steps Peter's taken to make the tree that way!
Very nice looking tree sir. I'm sure the customer will be pleasantly surprised. As the tree sits with the front facing out from a corner of its pot, would you then repot it to align the front with the side of the pot, or maybe plant it in a round pot or just leave it?
😳Hold up,,,,, ,, , am I the only one that noticed Peter has on black socks 🤔 omg talk about talent,,,, he can hold a camera with his hands and prune a shimpaku with his feet😂🤣😅 6:25 hahahahaha I'm done.... dam.. but but,,, no no I'm done and completely finished hehehe.
Thats called multi-tasking Peter Chan style. - They say 'necessity is the mother of invention' so when you dont have a cameraman to do the filming - you have to do that too and prune and move the turntable and speak and take decisions etc etc
I bought once a bonsai from the gardencenter. He lost about 2/3 of his leaves on the way home. 25 minutes in car, on the seat next to me, not trunk. Was quite a sad look.
It looks lighter. Trimming is scary, because it commits you to a path. It ends the possibilities. I saw a beautiful cascade before the first branch came off.
Do you, Sir, know the Lord as your Savior? I enjoyed your reference to the Bible. Thank you so much for all your lovely, informative videos! You are right...old is wiser and beautiful in those who recognize this truth...I am 75 and enjoy all your creative videos...and they are never boring. This video is no exception...you did a marvelous job on the neglected tree!

When Peter says "a light trim" I know we're in for a treat :)
You wouldn't like me to be your hairdresser I guess?
@@peterchan3100 why not? :)

When Peter starts out you think OMG don’t cut that, but in the end it’s perfection. True artistic vision and a master in his art. I love these videos.

The difference between the beauty of bonsai and people as they get older. Great!
What a transformation. Looks so elegant now
Dr. Chan skillfully excised Mr. Blobby.
"I'm going to do just a little pruning..." Superb video and commentary! Thanks!
Nice result
From a doctor who loves bonsai I’d say you’re a bonsai surgeon with the highest credentials. Thanks for sharing Peter.
I am honoured to have your comment. I nearly became a doctor but did not study biology in school.

Such an improvement, yet I can't help picturing the customer coming back from holiday saying WTF! 😂

Bueno, gran cambio con esa magistral poda, quedo hermoso.!
Customer: brings plant for care over the holiday.
Peter: let’s do a makeover, the owner wouldn’t mind.

Awesome tree!
Kishu and itoigawa are the only species of juniper i grow. Both very good for bonsai

I was wondering if you would be creating other bonsai with the clippings from this bonsai?
Yes I did make some cuttings from this tree
Peter, do you have a top 20 list of your Bonsai trees?
Not really because I have had so many good bonsai over the years
You should make a sequel to this video of your customer's reaction. I don't think he will recognize it.
Not small trimming at all owner will be surprised. But looking good now
would you brush Hinoki Cypress bark as well?
Yes

I would definitely be someone that is afraid of a tree like that one!
Neglected is a big word...

Why did you remove the bottom jin. It looked nice Peter. Now is just a round scar.
Not gonna cap to ya it looked 1000% better (neglected)
