    The ending credits scene to Steins;Gate 0 is one of my favorite scenes in anything. The indescribable feelings I felt seeing Okabe walking out of that Time Machine…

      That scene was the perfect ending to Steins; Gate 0. Since I finished all of Steins; Gate before watching 0, I do believe it provided the best closure to the series. Okarin saving Mayuri and Suzuhua even though he's aware Okarin (A) will reach Steins; Gate... I miss this series already.

      @@LykesonRose headcannon area, S;G0 Okabe Mayuri and Suzuha can live in the s;g end timeline if they never intercept their s;g selves or causa modifications to the atractor fields, so they could use the theme machine to live wanever they want but to be safe is probably better stay before the ice age. so my head cannon is that Okabe founded Atlantis knowing that eventually only legends wold remain.....

    Through the entire series he was saying " it is the choice of Steins Gate" this is the first time he said " this is MY choice" . Ofc we could argue the both are the one and the same but i found it kinda hype.

    Okabe time travels in 2025 after sending the video for 3 reasons:
    1. To go after Suzuha and Mayuri and confirm Steins Gate will happen and they're not dying in vain
    2. To deceive the world and prevent the convergence that dictates he dies in 2025
    3. To prevent Reading Steiner from triggering and bringing him to the Steins Gate Worldline. Basically avoiding overwriting SG WL Okabe's 15 years of memories

    • @TheThOdOr1s

      Okabe time travels after filming the video, but before sending it. Otherwise Reading Steiner would kick in. And it's mostly 3, but not just to spare SG WL Okabe's memories, but to not contaminate Steins;Gate with his conciousness via Reading Steiner.
      This Okabe has spend many years experimenting and understanding Reading Steiner and it's limitations, namely... how the attractor fields exist because of Reading Steiner and Okabe REALIZING that he has Reading Steiner after the first D-mail. This is what collapses reality into certain possibilities and makes the story of Steins Gate possible.
      Basically, if you're Okabe your objectives are
      1) Hide, but not undo, the first D-mail, otherwise the trail of conciousness is gone
      2) Hide, but not undo, the first D-mail, otherwise the trail of conciousness is gone, while inventing a time machine to make adjustments to the timeline without the limitations of Reading Steiner, to undo the events that led to the first D-mail.
      3) Hide, but not undo, the first D-mail, otherwise the trail of conciousness is gone, while inventing a time machine to make adjustments to the timeline without the limitations of Reading Steiner, to undo the events that led to the first D-mail, while nobody else on Earth discovers your time machine or builds a time machine of their own so that you're the only one making adjustments to the timeline at this time.
      Do all these things correctly and you might end up in a timeline where there are no time machines, via the use of Time machines.
      Steins;Gate is about NOT building a time machine.

    • @typedullx
      @typedullx 5 місяців тому

      @@TheThOdOr1s Yeah, I think I've commented somewhere something similar to the first part of your comment. The actions taken have a lot of consideration and reason behind. I've just simplified it.
      But yeah, it's basically keep the Okabe with memories from Alpha, make him save Kurisu so there's no more time machine after fixing the worldline, bail before the D-Mail is sent so RS doesn't trigger. The show went from only Okabe knowing and how it's a psychological horror to only Okabe knowing and it being completely fine. Because only he knows the horrors of time travel and not even the full extent since Okabe with most memories escaped time so to speak.
      And yes, Steins;Gate has always been about how using a time machine just screws up everything. Okabe from 0 initially thought he should not be using a time machine but later on realizes that NO ONE should. "Screw you" *untimes your time machine*

    This series will forever be one of the best of all time. I genuinely feel like I can't decide which I like more. Both are special to me in their own ways.
    The OG Steins Gate, as in the visual novel, was and still is one of the most unique experiences I've ever had with a game, as it was my first ever time playing a visual novel. So I went into it literally not knowing a damn thing about what to expect. I can still clearly remember all the emotions I felt going through the game for the first time. The anime, despite having to only stick with showing a single route(the true ending route), reignited and even amplified some of those feelings. There are some scenes that just work so much better in the anime than I ever expected, with Okabe's message to his past self chief among them. There's just something about it that makes it feel so much more dramatic than I had ever imagined it.
    Then you have Steins Gate 0, which is like the exact opposite to how I started with the OG. I went into the SG0 visual novel with a basic bit of knowledge about the premise(What if Okabe was allowed to give up on the rooftop), thinking I knew exactly what would happen(I was wrong), and also frankly feeling burnt out from all the visual novels I was going through at the time.
    I went in expecting a depressing story that would destroy me, or a story that would only break Okabe more until right at the end.
    What I got was a story that, while still sad given Okabe's depressed mindset, was ultimately a motivational story about how he picks up his broken pieces, or is forced to by people and powers out of his control, and becomes himself again, instead of the sad shell of his former self he started as. It's a story that reminded me of why I loved the OG so much, as well as Visual Novels as a whole. I guess in a way it helped me pick of a few of my own broken pieces.
    The SG0 Anime is interesting. Unlike the OG's anime that only adapted a single route, SG0's anime tries to fit all the routes together into a single route for a, in theory, more cohesive storyline. This is because unlike the OG doing every route in SG0 is necessary to reach the True Ending. They're all necessary because each one gives Okabe a vital piece of information about how to properly reach the True Ending, and therefore Steins Gate.
    Whether they accomplished their goal of a more cohesive storyline with SG0 is up to the individual. I've seen people say it was done well, some say the anime did good, some say the VN is still superior, etc. I'm of the camp that, like every good story, each version has it's pros and cons.
    It's kinda like Harry Potter. Books, Movies, even the Games, each one tells the stories in different ways, but that doesn't make any single version exclusively bad or better than the others. People argue that the books are more complete than the others, and therefore better, but that's not really a fair point, nor really a good one. It just means the reader gets a better understanding of things the first time through, but 90% of that is from silent thought and narration, things that are still technically there in the more active mediums, just not as blatant as words on a page. Harry Potter in the movies is still the Harry Potter you know from the books. You can't claim he's not just because you don't fully understand every thought passing through his mind when he's on screen.
    Anyways, I'm starting to rant and ramble on a bit too much, so that means it's time for me to stop. That'll be all from me. Have a great day!

    My theory. Time machine can only bring 2 people. So okarin will have to stay and send the 2 back. So he'll trick the 2 into thinking that he'll try to fix the other time machine while the other 2 getting some help from the future. But they'll find out that they need the exact coordinate timeline in order to rescue okarin but okarin himself don't actually know because he's using timeline tracing to find the other 2 and the trace is gone because he's already using it (like a string that you roll to reach the other end). Okarin left stranded while the other to come back which goes with the original that okarin dies while the other 2 survive in the original years timeline

    • @LykesonRose
      @LykesonRose  Рік тому

      I'd assume your theory is right given how the concept of time travel works in Steins; Gate. It's been a while since finishing the series, but since Okarin (A) reached Steins; Gate would that make the other world lines all disappear or just one world line being in Steins; Gate as the others continue on?

    • @thedragonryder
      @thedragonryder 11 місяців тому +1

      @@LykesonRose world lines dont disappear, they just become inactive. Only one can be active at a time, and the reason Okarin A has to go back in time is to avoid overwriting Okarin B, who goes on to reach steins;gate, which is why he left in the time machine BEFORE the D-Mail was sent. This makes Okarin B the only one who is on an active Worldline, who could possibly be affected by Reading Steiner, in a world that he has no reason to want to leave, and where time machines are never invented to fight a war over. he had little choice but to stay behind after sending Suzu and Mayuri back, because he had to ensure their time machine was completely destroyed, so that no trace of it could affect the timeline.

    • @LykesonRose
      @LykesonRose  11 місяців тому

      @@thedragonryder So simply put, besides going back to save Mayuri and Suzu he also had to go back to destroy the time machine that those two used which ultimately fixes all the loose ends.
      I'm glad they decided to incorporate Steins; Gate 0 to have everything explained for Steins; Gate fans.

    • @thedragonryder
      @thedragonryder 11 місяців тому

      @LykesonRose don't forget he also had to go back because he didn't want to overwrite the Steins;Gate worldline Okabe with himself via Reading Steiner.
      We know from the end of steins gate that even after he alters the past to change the worldline, Reading Steiner only activates after he and Suzuha return to the present, which is when she disappears and we hear the sound effect of Reading Steiner play.
      If Okabe 0 never returns to 2025 then his reading Steiner never activates, and the Okabe that his changes creates is never overwritten by it.
      Reading Steiner is a bridge between worldlines, but my headcanon is that it's also a defence mechanism of the mind. Consider when Feyris begins to remember the previous worldline when Okabe is trying to talk her into undoing her D-mail. She's beginning to lose sight of which worldline is real and which was the previous one. Okabe never suffers from this problem, and it's because reading Steiner overwrites the memories of the Okabe in any new Worldline he goes to. Otherwise he would have dozens of memories inside his head from all the worldline jumps and time leaps that slightly alter the future

    Congrats on finishing Steins;Gate 0! Quick question: Which did you enjoy more, S;G or S;G 0? I am curious to see how you feel about it.
    Anyways, after the OVA, that is almost all the anime stuff in the Steins;Gate part of the franchise.
    I recommend watching the movie, Steins;Gate Load Region of Deja Vu, since it can be a fun watch for anyone wanting more S;G. A big plus is that it is also a canon story that takes place after S;G in the Steins Gate Wordline. Anyway, I feel like you understood what happened throughout the story, but if you have questions about Steins, Gate, or something in it, I'll try my best to answer.
    I will keep saying it even if it is annoying, but for people truly interested in the universe S;G is set in and are willing to spend many hours reading, then I recommend the rest of the SciADV visual novels. Although some are different, the other stories are just as good. If not, better imo.
    Well, I don't know how to end this, so...

      @meltychan7549 Рік тому

      Okay, I'm not going to argue about the canonicity or non-canonicity of the Steins;Gate movie, but for the most part it doesn't make sense. The existence of several active world lines (that is, it turns out that the theory of attractor fields = a multi-world interpretation, which clearly contradicts the mechanics of both the original novel and the anime), Reading Steiner, which turns out to be able to transfer Okabe from one world line to another, despite the fact that Steiner is only able to retain memories when the world line changes. Also, in theory, in a world without Okabe, the laboratory should not have existed. How could they create it without a clear understanding of what they are doing there? And how would Kurisu have appeared in their ranks then? The world without Okarin has hardly changed, it just disappeared, and the butterfly effect did not manifest itself in any way. The finale with Kurisu's kiss, which was supposed to bind Okabe's consciousness to this world line ... What?
      And what is Suzuha doing here anyway?
      Plus, the story contradicts another story "Holy Day Of The Calamitous Birth", which, if I'm not mistaken, is the first canonical novella that at least has its confirmation in R;N.
      It was not even a clowning, but a whole circus. In fact, Steins;Gate Movie: Fuka Ryouiki no Déjà vu forgot that he is primarily Steins;Gate. And I'm not saying that the movie is completely bad. It's nice to see the same characters, their interaction with each other, especially between Kurisu and Okabe, pleasant musical accompaniment, etc. But from the point of view of what was happening in the film, it was something strange and indistinct.

    • @just-_-wandering
      @just-_-wandering Рік тому +1

      @MeltyChan I won't argue about "Holy Day of the Calamitous Birth" because you are right there.
      I will just argue for anyone wondering why it is canon. My explanation for this will probably be simplified, but I am just regurgitating what other people in the community have said.
      [SPOILERS for S;G Movie]
      In the Drama CD, a Posteriouri Existence, it explains how the other active "R worldline" is not actually a worldline but another space within the SG worldline. The CD explains how this is actually just a space for "errors" to be dumped, hence why only Okabe is there since he hopped into the SG worldline and has no memories of it. Since he is not shifting worldlines, all his actions are still intact, but since he is "R" they just have no memory of him or what he has done.
      This can also explain how Suzuha disappeared in the Steins;Gate. Since she basically has no memories from the SG worldline (there is no WW3 or time travel), she immediately gets sent into "R" being treated as an error.
      The explanation was probably butchered, but I gave a basic rundown of kinda how it works. Remember, I am just saying stuff based on what others have been saying recently, but I still agree with what they say.

      To answer your first question, I did enjoy S;G more than S;G 0. I plan on making a video about the entirety of Steins; Gate, giving a review and also stating reasons why I preferred Steins; Gate more. To give a short answer, I think Steins; Gate 0 definitely had its shining moments, but Steins; Gate had more of a shock factor to it as the viewer continuously had to try and figure out the route in which it goes. When you're watching 0, you (as the viewer) are already familiar with some of those shock factors that they try and re-implement. Granted I enjoyed watching both series!
      I plan on posting the OVA later today and then will be watching the movie next. Thanks for following along and providing the missing details that I didn't catch or needed help understanding on. The very concept of Steins; Gate can be tricky, which is why I think some viewers might not like the anime, however it was the critical thinking aspect that made me really enjoy it!
      I wouldn't mind looking into the SciADV visual novels as it might be interesting and provide some more character context, not shown in the anime. If I did, I'd likely do it later down on the line as I have other things I'm working on at the moment.
      I'm glad you enjoyed the journey!

      @@just-_-wandering Um... well...okay? It's still weird. Why then is the world line R called the world line, if it is not? Then the "space R". But if this is a different space, then why is it assigned a certain deviation from the world line? How then can it be a deviation from the world line if it is a place for throwing in "errors"? And if it is located INSIDE the SG world line, does it turn out to be an error dump location for it or not?
      Well, let's say it exists. This is supposed to be something like a recycle bin on the desktop of a computer, right? Any junk is put in there and, if possible, it can be returned from there. Especially in the realities of Anonymous; Code looks like something possible. But why is it? We have a convergence that is, in fact, doing the same thing. If inconsistencies appear, convergence tries to bring everything to a common denominator.
      I don't know, even if the system is interesting, it was poorly woven into the film.

    • @just-_-wandering
      @just-_-wandering Рік тому

      @MeltyChan The drama CD actually is the thing that tells us that it is apparently not a worldline and that the movie is wrong. Yeah, it is really weird and dumb how they do it. I don't like how they present the info (a drama CD literally answers what the movie pretended it did). I wish I had some answers for why R exists and there might be, but I'm not invested enough into the movie that I'm willing to dig for it. You can probably ask others because I know that a few members of CoZ have answers to a lot of stuff.
      [A;C and SciADV speculation]
      I haven't been able to read Anonymous;Code yet since it's not in English, and idk if you have, but from a bits I heard about before it came out makes me believe that the SciADV universe is a simulation. Still, it is just my speculation, so who knows.

    actually, zero Okabe could just let the world line change and enjoy the fruits of his success(basically overriding the memories of the future Okabe of that world line) but chose not to and chase after Mayuri and Suzuha not only because he wants to save them but also because he doesn't want the future Okabe of this world line be filled with any more trauma and regrets so that he, the future Okabe, would have a happier life
    the year Mayuri and Suzuha ended up to also wasnt just some random date/era. Some of the oldest human remains found in Japan dates back to that exact date that was flashed on the screen, hinting that it was Okabe's remains because Okabe cant leave that timeline.

    Did you enjoy watching "Zero"? Don't you think it's a waste not to watch this?
    As you pointed out, "Zero" is a past of Steins Gate‘s story.
    According to the interpretation of the anime version, the miracle of "Steins;Gate" was possible because of "Zero".
    As Maho stated in his monologue, "Zero" is the " epigraph by Determination " of "Steins;Gate."
    (That's why Japanese fan often refer to Zero's Okarin as the "Determination Okarin".)
    What kind of story "Zero" is was presented from the beginning.
    Because it's "Steins Gate 0", not "Steins Gate 2".
    It is also found in the lyrics of "Skyclad Observer". ("0" is the past, "1" is the future)
    And we already knew about the future Okarin who sent the video mail.
    As you say, Zero's story should end here.
    After this, the zero world line will eventually be overwritten by the SG world line.
    Zero's Mayuri and Suzuha cease to exist like Suzuha in episode 24 of "Steins Gate".
    There are many theories about the timing. That's why the rest of Zero's story is the part that each viewer imagines.
    (In the future, when Suzuha, who knows the existence of video mail, travels to the past from 2036, the world line should change.)
    Episode 23 of "Zero" leads to episode 24 of "Steins Gate".
    Episode 22 of Zero is a tribute to Episode 22 of Steins;Gate.
    Episode 22 of "Steins;Gate" is the story of Chris disappear.
    For example, Amadeus' "That's very logical... and romantic, isn't it?" line is a reappearance of Kurisu's “The theory of relativity is a very romantic and painful thing…” line.
    Or so are these two lines.
    "Even if the world line changes, if Okabe doesn't forget, I will still be there."(Kurisu)
    "... but...only you will always remember me, right?"(Amadeus)
    The reason why Amadeus' lips are shown close-up is because it is a "reappearance".
    Amadeus' repeated claim that she is a program should not be taken literally.
    Because , At that time, Amadeus was no different from Kurisu hreself.
    Maho, who heard Amadeus' last words, calls her "Chris" instead of "Amadeus" too.
    If you heard it as Kurisu's words, the true meaning of those words is clear, right?
    As an aside, doesn't the letter "A" in the Amadeus logo look like a "4"?
    Lab member number 4 is Chris.
    The helicopter that destroys the time machine is most often an Apache of the US military.
    However, only episode 21 is Hind(Mi-24) of the Russian army.
    The operation names "Arklight", "Vega", and "Altair" are all names of stars derived from "Hikoboshi and Orihime" in Tanabata.
    “Tanabata” was used not only to express the four seasons of Japan, but perhaps because the story of “Hikoboshi and Orihime” meets beyond time and distance.
    When I watch the Steins;Gate anime trilogy after I know the ending, I discover something new each time, so that's also fun.
    I have written here only a small part of it.
    That said, there are still ” The Movie“ left.
    "The Movie" is the final chapter of the trilogy.
    Please look forward to it!

      I would agree by stating that, Steins; Gate 0 is NOT a waste of time. While I did enjoy Steins; Gate more than 0, in order to understand and comprehend the entirety of Steins; Gate, you need to watch 0.
      While we, as the viewer, were aware of Beta worldline Okarin sending a D-mail to Alpha worldline Okarin, there is no context provided.
      I enjoyed seeing the "what if" Okarin never decided to try again and save Kurisu? Would the events leading up to WW3 be inevitable?
      Thank you for the explanations, I'll be looking forward to watching the movie next and also need to watch the Steins; Gate OVA (episode 25) as I wasn't aware of its existence until a few days ago.
      Also, will be making a review video, talking about Steins; Gate and Steins; Gate 0 going into more detail on what I enjoyed about it.

      I plan on posting the OVA later today, as I'm currently working on the edits right now. I planned on watching the movie afterward, however is there an OVA for Steins; Gate? If so I haven't seen it yet and would incorporate that as well.
      Thanks for following the journey!

      @@LykesonRose Yeah there is. Some sites list it as ep 25. If you haven't watched the movie yet I suggest you check that out first.
