    That moment Rener is talking in Portuguese to Lyoto, and you still hear, "booom".

    • @thiagodunadan

      Well, we do say "boom" in Brazil.

      I didn't know that, obviously. Brazil is beautiful though.

      we say it but for us is "bum"

      Shawn Davis that moment you realize that "boom" is not exclusively English, instead its the sound you hear in an explosion.

      I thought he said "bom," which means "good."

    Whoa, I'm amazed at how fluid Ronda Rousey's transitions are. She just flows from position to position with ease.

      Olympic level judo and a mother that was a judoka world champion and nea waza ground specialist.. her mother had bad knees so would get her opponents on the ground and submit them.. what Rhonda rousey done in MMA with her judo alone at a terrible MMA gym with a terrible coach .. that new nothing about submission wrestling and convinced her to try and strike with a world class striker and multiple time world champion in different striking arts was crazy caching.. telling people and Rhonda you have world class striking.. then stand and shout head movement as she was getting beat up while standing trying to strike with an actual world class striker 🤦🤷 then Misha Tate who did have proper MMA coaches and a team that could give her good advice.. don't stand and strike with Holly Holmes get the takedown and submit her that's how you can become champion.. and she did it and Rhonda fought Misha twice and threw her around and submitted her twice.. if Rhonda had went to a elite MMA gym a Jackson's aka or others with her Olympic level judo and elite level ground game nea waza armbar submission that her own mother specialised in and became a world champion herself with an armbar.. if she went to a real MMA gym with top coaches and training partners.. she could have been even better alot better but she went with Edmond but still managed to become strikeforce champion and UFC champion and basically won most of her fights with her judo throws.. wrestler's trying double leg her .then boom uchi Mata they went flying and before they new it were getting armbared .. who knows how better she could have been training at a proper elite MMA gym with good training partners.. but she done ok with her judo alone and neawaza and work class armbar alone

    Lyoto is a living legend, hes like the real life martial arts bruce lee/karate kid master. Like 200 years from now when people look back at the start of MMA hes gonna be one of the guys mentioned.

    • @syncmonism
      @syncmonism 10 років тому +1

      No, he isn't. I mean, I respect that he's very, very good, and a more iconic figure than some, but sports achievements don't get remembered for very long. The sport itself is likely to be remembered more than any of its competitors. So many other things in the course of history stand out far more in people's memories, and sports by comparison, are likely to fade out into tiny, tiny footnotes.

      Like kron Gracie and Marcelo Garcia royler Gracie Roger Gracie Andre galvo and the rest.. only problem with bjj is starting on your knees pulling guard.. and not focusing on wrestling plus submission like a sakuraba or all the elite MMA fighters look what's happening to kron Gracie in the UFC.. was brought up and told all you need is Gracie jiu-jitsu.. and not elite wrestling or good striking.. going back to the nhb days guys fighting in Brazil mark Kerr Vs Fabio gurgel.. mark had Olympic level wrestling and could take Fabio gurgel a bjj legend down at ease and just headbutt his face in and smash him.. then the Gracie's met sakuraba who grew up wrestling then learned catch wrestling.. and beat them all.. the Gracie's learned grappling from a Japanese judoka.. but neglected throwing part tachi waza and just focused on fighting from there back .. not a great idea when you can't get the guy on the ground then have to stand with him.. and halio didn't invent leverage or the guard like kron and the rest tell people..there's kosen judo books which is a style of judo that focuses more on ground work.. there's books going back to 19.18 where there's pictures of kosen judo guys playing spider guard xguard open guard sweeps submission from the guard guard passing techniques well before the Gracie's had learned grappling..look what kimura done to halio threw him around like a empty tracksuit .. passed his guard multiple times and then submitted the halio with ude garami a judo submission..look at the top level fighter's going back to mark Kerr mark Coleman don fry randy couture sakuraba.. to DC khabib Jon Jones the Fedor chuck Liddell rampage Jackson and more .. they all grew up wrestling.. look what khabib could do to bjj blackbelts with his sambo which is like russian judo.. then look at royler Gracie Vs genki sudo trying to pull guard and getting smashed.. then also his arm snapped by sakuraba.. Andre galvo great at bjj but met Tyron Woodley a wrestler couldn't get him on the ground got smashed.. Marcelo Garcia the best in his prime could submit ex UFC heavyweight champion in bjj .. but fought some Asian MMA fighter no one had heard off .. and was trying to pull guard got smashed.. look at Royce Gracie coming back to fight Matt Hughes a wrestler that wasn't even ranked in bjj but learned submissions.. made him look like an amature and took it easy on Royce new his ego was to big to tap so let go referee stopped it after some strikes made Royce Gracie look like a whitebelt I a actual fight not just a grappling match.. you want to be a good fighter learn how to control your opponent throw them take them down get ontop and punch them.. don't do what kron and the others did.. and only train bjj and try pulling guard in a streat fight or MMA fight .. and end up a punching bag because you can't wrestle just pull guard.. theres a big difference between a DC or Jon Jones .. in a fight than a bjj legend like Roger Gracie or kron Gracie in MMA.. or khabib sakuraba.. they could wrestle take you down and submit you unlike other bjj legends that tried MMA .. even Ortega if he was a elite wrestler with those submission skills would be champion.. but he grew up training on his knees rolling pulling guard.. doesn't work when you can't take the guy dow end up like kron a punching bag trying to but scoop .. do that in a street fight your going to get your head kicked off 🤷
