your channel and fearless TrailHawk are my favourite channels. my 2020 TH is dying to do what you guys do. Appreciated and excited for your next video. Cheers from Ontario, Canada :)
I like that it has a relatively flat belly for ground clearance , without anything really hanging down . And if anything was I guess a simple mod can be done.
I own a 2016 Cherokee TH, a long time off roader in Canada, and you gotta know there are a lot of wilderness trails in Canada. Loved your video, you took time for the kids...awesome...my TH is the best vehicle I have ever owned. The nav system is handy when you are lost in the middle of nowhere
I bought a 2019 TH Elite with the 3.2l back in August. I haven’t had it on the trails yet, but around town and on road trips it’s awesome. I love how it runs, rides and handles!
I just bought a 2021 Cherokee Trailhawk and let me tell you I LOVE IT. I have owned an XJ for probably 10 years and I have it highly modified. The Trailhawk has air conditioning, it gets decent fuel milage, and it just feels solid. I will update my channel with some video of the new ride. Great video Moots.
Love my 2021 trailhawk v6 same as your reasons. Great comfortable ride lots of power. Lusting after new midsize pickups coming out then smile as I drive my trailhawk and realize I don’t need a pickup.
thanks for your review. I just bought a 2017 today. I agree with your 5 likes. I looked at the rubicons and wranglers, wasn't wowed, asked the salesman is that all, anything else? he said I have one more you may like. I liked it a lot, bought it. looking forward to some great rides. wife and I are retired, towing it behind our rv home, hope to take it all to Alaska next year. I liked the balanced combination of luxury/comfort/style and off road ability, think it does well in all areas. and the price was much better than the others. thanks again
Love our 2014. I00040 miles 6cyl. Handles everything excellently incl SW Co . Moab Etc. Bought new Chevy Colorado wife's new truck and convert Trail Hawk for off-road and support for ads plus camping.❤
I've enjoyed my (so far problem free) all manual 2015 2 dr wrangler that can be quickly adapted to sleep in, but it's still too high tech for my liking .. I like the TH's looks but the ultra high tech platform scares the hell out of me. So now you're not only being watched by Big Bro, he's riding along with you!
I don't have a cherokee, but I have a competitors crossover that directly competes with the cherokee that a lot of people take off road as well, and I like mine for pretty much the same reasons. Also love getting all the looks from people in wranglers, 4runners, and pickups in general with huge lifts and massive tires while I'm on the same trails as them haha. Just wish mine had a little more power, only got a 4 cylinder, but it works!
Totally agree with you on your 5 reasons. They're the same ones I have for our 2018 TH. The look is definitely my #1 also, not a fan of the newer ones. Keep up the awesome videos, always helpful.
I love my trailhawk for car camping....seats fold flat to make a bed....and its a manageable height to hoist my kayak on the roof! Havent done much offroading yet here in Ontario...but would be fun to try.
I’m 6-2 and fit great in the KL. The only pain is getting in due to the door frame is slanted more. I have to bend down more than say, a Wrangler. The V6 has great power. Put it in Sport Mode and you will really fly. If you have a family I would opt for a Grand Cherokee instead. With my 2 Pugs it is fine for what I need. Comfort, handling, entertainment center are top notch. Only mods I’ve done with mine is a K&N performance air box, an MFC Offroad 2 inch lift kit, and a Magnaflow exhaust. .
I agree completely. I sometimes wish I had a Grand Cherokee due to having a family of 5. For now we make it work but eventually it'll be to small for all of us to run around in.
I really enjoyed this video, especially because you have clearly put the Cherokee through its paces over an extended period of time...and in a variety of applications. You've made some excellent points. But with that said, I'm surprised you didn't comment on the Jeep's toughness and reliability, which has to be a big priority for someone like you, who obviously demands a lot from his vehicles. Also, I'm a guy who prefers buying American-made vehicles OR at least those made with extensive amounts of North-American-made parts. A few years ago, Car&Driver Magazine reported that the current-generation Jeep Cherokee contains the highest percentage of North-American parts of ANY vehicle. That would be a HUGE bragging point for me!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I didn't put reliability as one mainly because I'd want to be closer to 200,000 miles before I give it that stamp. It's been extremely reliable up to this point but that's really kind of my mark for determining overall longterm reliability. I definitely plan on pushing it over that mark. I agree with you on wanting an American made vehicle and move the fact that Jeep is mostly American made. Appreciate your comments and I definitely could have mentioned both.
#1, is gonna be size. Wait, I guess that's #5. Blooper! Anyway we have a 2017, and the size is great, but I'm 6'3" tall, and it's really hard to get into it. We also have a 2006 Liberty, and it's really smaller, but the door opening is way easier for me to get into. One problem was an O ring failure on the oil cooler under the intake on the engine, which I had to fix myself because the mechanics at Jeep didn't let us know about the problem and the warranty ran out. Otherwise, we love our Jeeps.
This is awesome. But if you think of fearless trailhawk, check out colorado mallcrawlers. We are doing some pretty hard trails out here in Colorado, and you'll be blown away by what our kls can do. I have a 2019 and I love it too. We push these things to their limits out here too
Did that Channel used to be called something else? I remember seeing it a while back but thought it was just the Yellow Wrangler. You definitely put it through its paces.
This is the first time I've ever heard someone refer to the 3.2 V6 as a powerful engine. If the jeep with THAT engine is powerful, than the 2.0 turbo that I'm hoping to get must REALLY be able to get that little truck moving.
Thanks for both of your lists. Can't get a new one but found some sweet used TH's with surprisingly low mileage! Great video, good to see the boys out running with You. Thanks!
Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for the great review from Canada. I've had a Wrangler, and I loved it, but it was such a pig on gas. I need a salesperson highway SUV. How would you rate this amazing rig for highway miles. Thanks
Small is good on the tight trail. That is true, but nothing is better than driving an older already bent up and scratched vehicle on the trail. It just makes the trail so much more inviting, more so as it looks worse and worse....
Nice video i'm waiting for my Jeep but white one and only 3.2 :) by the way nice family :) True power trail and comfort the most important. Small isn't it?
Im thinking of taking my trailhawk to do some off roading near Moab, Utah. One of the trails in your video looked like it my have been located in Utah. If so, how did it mange those steep rocky mtrails?
Yeah I did a couple trails around Moab. Took the Cherokee down fins n things and the white rim trail. It did phenomenal. Had a blast out there and can't wait to get back.
Hey man. Great content! Keep up the good work. On your Falken Wildpeaks are you running E load range? I did the MFC 2” lift on mine recently and still running stock size BFG KO 2’s which are D load rated. I wanted to go up one inch in size to a 245/70r17 and was thinking of the Falkens, which are available in XL or E load. I would prefer the XL because it is much lighter. Have you noticed any wear on the CV’s or other components with the larger and heavier tires?
I went with the lighter. I wanted to keep the weight down on mine. So far I have not been disappointed. I haven't noticed any wear on anything yet. I had the tires off and was inspecting it all and didn't see any issues.
I agree with your top 5. I don't have the Trailhawk though. I just have the latitude. I am going to get roasted by the comment section know lol. Although, i have taken my cherokee to multiple jeep badges of honors trails ( moab) and actually use my jeep off-road.
You've got a couple options on the lighting issue. You can upgrade the head lights to LED's or add something like pod lights or light bar. The LED's are your best bet. You can get them from MFC offroad. I've heard some of the other options off Amazon can end up throwing an error code. I haven't done anything with my headlights yet but I'll probably eventually add the LED's.
Great review. I have 2014 Cherokee Lattitude 4x4 and love it. I do have a question though...I paid of my Cherokee and must admit I am enjoying not having a car payment. I do wish I had more ground clearance. Can I do a suspension lift (say two inches) so I can clear more obstacles as I tend to go off road when doing landscape photography. I invested in some TOYO Open Country II /AT tires that really compliment the 4X4 system on my Cherokee. I am just looking for ground clearance. Or should I bite the bullet and get a Trailhawk? Your advice is appreciated.
Glad you liked it! You definitely have some options. As for lifting it you could go with Hazard Sky, MFC Offroad or Rough Country. Basically the same with little difference. If you want to get the best ride quality with your lift I'd recommend checking out gleaming-alloy.com and check out the Stilettos. I just installed a set and it's been a big improvement over my HS lift.
I've seen plenty of latitudes that have been lifted and modified. They seem to do really good. So as for buying a Trailhawk I don't think it's a have to. You do get some added off road goodies but if you aren't doing extreme off roading you shouldn't need it.
Thanks! I've really liked mine. Might be my favorite vehicle I've owned. If you want to see more of what it can do and mods I've got a lot of videos on the channel.
I think my biggest complaint about the KL was the headlights. I have the 2014 Limited. The headlights are way too low and when driving a country highway at night, the lights just don't do as good of a job as my 2012 KK Liberty ( which I also still have and still love).
We have the 19 TH, after an accident took out our 14 TH. We also had a 98 XJ with 304,000 miles till it literally rusted out. The TH is my wife's. The 09 KK is our Jeep. The Liberty is an overlooked Jeep. While not off road warriors, we have it the trails in Colorado and UT. Both the TH and Liberty are just solid vehicles. We have owned 5 Jeeps over the last 20 years, but not a Wrangler.
Great video! Just recently bought a 2019 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk. I'm from St. Louis, MO. Wondering if you could send me in the right direction for a couple of beginner trails and intermediate trails? Thanks in advance!
Thanks and congrats! I'd recommend you check out sms Overland Facebook group. I know they run trails closer to you. If you check out some of my trail videos in the Mark Twain playlist those are down by Chadwick. Glade Top trail is a great place to start which is south of Bradleyville.
Mines been great along with most. I think its like most vehicles. The ones that have issues talk loudest if you will. The 14's did have a lot of transmission issues but they fixed that.
The Falken Wildpeaks I just replaced went a little over 50,000 miles. They were AT tires. The mud terrain tires probably wear faster. I have heard some say the BFG KO2's get a little squirrelly when they get worn down.
I bought Cherokee trailhawk 2921 just yesterday but a car not ready they don’t have white colour we have to Waiting to pic up the jeep so Far every happy to drive new car
I am contemplating between 2022/2023 Cherokee trail hawk or Rav4 xse or Trd offroad 2022/2023 I like the rav4 a lot because they run forever and gas saving, but I don’t think it’s fully capable to go off-road . What tire pressure do you air down the tires, and when to?
Yeah I'd say the Trailhawk is more capable especially with the rear locker and a true 4x4 low. But the rav 4 can still do a lot. I air down to 18psi and I do it anytime I get on a trail. Even if its mostly a dirt trail ill air down. It makes a huge differance in the ride quality.
Great video!, I am thinking about buying a 2017 Trailhawk. What do you think about reliability of the engine and transmission? Have you ever had any problems? Thank you a lot.
Thanks! I've got the 2015 and I haven't had any transmission or engine issues. From everything I've heard the 2017's are solid. The main transmission issues were in the 2014 models and early 2015 models. I'm at 111,xxx miles at this point and very happy with mine.
When it comes to reliability of my own I've had one issue. I had to replace the rear driveline. That was kind of disappointing. Granted I've ran mine pretty hard. Overall I've heard a mixed bag from people. Some have gone over 200,xxx miles with zero issues and some say they've had nothing but issues. For me I've been happy with the reliability of my Cherokee. 103,xxx miles in now with one repair. Hope that helps.
I don't think we are communicating well. I'm asking about the RPM's @ 70 MPH - not the temperature or speedometer reading :-) 74,000 RPM would be near redlining the engine. It should read somewhere near 22,000 RPM. with a V-6. ??? @@MootsKLAdventure
Oh I didn't read that right. I'm used to people asking about what the speedometer says when I'm going 70 due to the larger tires. Ill have to look next time I'm on the interstate but i think it's around 2700 rpm's
ua-cam.com/video/ciHI5yvwV14/v-deo.html Glade Top is my favorite place to go in MO so far. The link is to a trip we took out there. Also some good trails around Chadwick. I've got a couple videos from that area as well. Highly recommend both.
Just bought a 2020 Trail Hawk. Hooking my 1959 Shata Airflyte Camper to it and going across the US to California. Has anyone used thiers pulling a camper?
I have Falken Wildpeak at3w 265 70 17's. I didn't recalibrate the speedometer. It really hasn't been an issue. I know, for the most part, what the difference in my speed vs the reading. I'm also not sure you can have it recalibrated. I've heard conflicting things on that. I do have a video series on what I did to fit the tires on and what tires they are if you check out the channel playlist.
Just to give you an update on the jack point video I've been set back on my timeline for it. The shop at work that I use we had to put steel I-beams in. When we get those out I'll get the video done.
I would say the only reason why I can't buy one and how it just can't really be a great SUV, is the hard fact that it is a Fiat....yikes! Iffy build quality, parts and reliability are the biggest fears with anything Fiat. Otherwise I am glad yours has been good to you and hope it continues for years to come. I do like the looks of it and have a great interest in it but, if it were just American made, had a solid rear axle, or at least at a minimum sway bar disconnects, locking diffs, under belly skid plates, and wasn't a Fiat it would be the greatest SUV ever? But no, we all know Jeep won't do that, they just can't give buyers what they really want
@@MootsKLAdventure It is pretty good as is yes. I just want a manufacturer like Jeep to offer what the off road community wants from their Jeep Cherokee's. Especially the TrailHawk edition. Like I said though, it is pretty good as is.
The only thing that’s Fiat about the Cherokee is the platform. The drivetrain is Chrysler. It drives and rides great and plenty of people put 100-200k on them with little to no problems.
I'm using the Yakima Load Warrior rack. You can buy it on Amazon. I put a link to it in the description of the video if you want to check it out. I have a video on installing the rack as well if you want to check that out. One of my earliest video's so probably not my best stuff.
Hi,I enjoyed ur video...I have a 2018 jeep cherokee trailhawk as well and I love it,I have had it for 3 years and have round 23,000 miles on it,I dont drive much just to work and round town.Have u had any problems with ur rack and pinion? Mine went bad at 21,000 miles(which is a bit upsetting)and I am super easy on my jeep. I have never had it on the trails either,I want to some day.i live in ohio so at least once in the winter time we get quite a bit of snow and it does great in the snow but I have them really aggressive tires on it. Anyways I just wanted to say thanks for the video and u have some cute kids.😀
Really appreciate it! Sorry to hear about your rack and pinion issue. I haven't had any problems , knock on wood. I put a lot of miles on it and I've had it on a lot of trails without any issues yet. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I'm pretty fond of our little guys!
In order to fit that size tire I added the Hazard Sky 2inch lift,, cut back the pinch weld and then heat the front wheel well fender and molded it back. No suspension tuning.
Great video I just bought a 2015 trail hawk with 70,000 miles I was just wondering if you had any transmissions issues I saw that people have issues with that, I didn’t know if that’s something that I should look for in the future?
Thanks! I haven't had any transmission issues. Its not the smoothest in the lowest gears but that just seems to be normal for these transmissions. I've heard of people having issues with the 14's mainly. But I'm not any more worried about this transmission than any other vehicle I've owned.
I added those. You can get them at several places. I've got an Amazon link in the description to them. I've also seen them on Hazard Sky's website and I think on etsy. I love the way they look.
your channel and fearless TrailHawk are my favourite channels. my 2020 TH is dying to do what you guys do. Appreciated and excited for your next video.

Thanks for the shoutout man! My #1 is the looks i get from others on the trails! lol...

Well I'd say this top 5 list goes for all Cherokee KL's not just the Trailhawk.
I echo with you on all the 5 points I’m loving it ! Can you suggest how I can resolve the lighting issue it’s not very bright !
Had one loved it
I love mine too! all the haters of this vehicle are just jealous!
Hahaha. Yup
Cool video. Considering a used one right now.
Yeah I totally agree. I prefer the look with the headlights lower but the lights are terrible.
Yep, I'll agree. It's a good look, maybe I just need a light bar ( j/k).
@@fisidave that's why I added lights.
Dependability? Like the video, would like to know how reliable, I've heard negative things about that
Mines been great along with most. I think its like most vehicles. The ones that have issues talk loudest if you will. The 14's did have a lot of transmission issues but they fixed that.
@@SST11B cool, they're a nice looking wagon.
Do the offroad tires wear out fast? I also have a 40 minute commute.
Congrats! That's exciting
I like it. The new one looks cartoon-ish
I definitely prefer the pre face lift.
@@MootsKLAdventure Thank you a lot for your quick answer. I hope I buy it!
my 2015 jeep cherokee trailhawk just turned over 221000 miles
Thats awesome! I plan on running mine up as high as it'll go.
I love mine but only five days of ownership I’ve had a starting problem 😩
Ugh. Hate to hear that. Hopefully nothing big. They're a fun vehicle when they're working right.
@@MootsKLAdventure at the dealership now hoping for the best outcome possible
Where did you get those two side black stripes?
If you check out the video description you'll find a link to them. You can find them some other places as well.
Nice Video !! Thanks :)
Glad you liked it.
Do you have a lift? Great video!
Thanks! Yeah I've got the Hazard Sky 2 inch lift. I've got a Playlist of videos about the lift and tires on the channel.
Thank you just watched it!
Hi was wanting to know what the reliability is like? There is a lot of info on how unreliable they can be.
At 70 mph on the interstate, what does your tachometer read?
It reads 74
I don't think we are communicating well. I'm asking about the RPM's @ 70 MPH - not the temperature or speedometer reading :-) 74,000 RPM would be near redlining the engine. It should read somewhere near 22,000 RPM. with a V-6. ??? @@MootsKLAdventure
Oh I didn't read that right. I'm used to people asking about what the speedometer says when I'm going 70 due to the larger tires. Ill have to look next time I'm on the interstate but i think it's around 2700 rpm's
Any places in MO you recommend to take one of these out?
ua-cam.com/video/ciHI5yvwV14/v-deo.html Glade Top is my favorite place to go in MO so far.
I haven't but I've seen people pulling a lot of different types of trailers with them. Sounds like a fun trip.
There is a Trailhawk Facebook Group. Lots pulling small campers. I have a hitch on mine, but haven't pulled anything.
2021 TH...tbh, looks is the absolute best and yes, take 5 steps and stop t look back. @VAD_ER2021
All the time
I think your son likes the color 🤣
Lol. Yeah he really likes the color.
What tire size do you have?
And did you recalibrate your speedometer after putting bigger tires?
I have Falken Wildpeak at3w 265 70 17's. I didn't recalibrate the speedometer. It really hasn't been an issue. I know, for the most part, what the difference in my speed vs the reading. I'm also not sure you can have it recalibrated. I've heard conflicting things on that. I do have a video series on what I did to fit the tires on and what tires they are if you check out the channel playlist.
I bought used jeep cherokee trailhawk 2016. I noticed that a bit delay in case shifting gear from n to d or n to r.
Is it normal?
Yeah thats what mine does as well. It seems to be pretty standard.
@@MootsKLAdventure Thanks a lot🌹
Hey man just curious if you were/are still going to do jack ALL jack points on the trailhawk sometime? I'm wanting to rotate my tires.
Yeah still planning on doing that video. I should have the footage shot next week, I hope.
@@MootsKLAdventure Thanks brother!🤙
Just to give you an update on the jack point video I've been set back on my timeline for it. The shop at work that I use we had to put steel I-beams in. When we get those out I'll get the video done.
@@MootsKLAdventure Okay thanks for the update, was beginning to wonder lol.
self dimming headlights
I dont have those. But would be nice.
2014 Trailhawk has them!
@@MootsKLAdventure
my 2014 cherokee trailhawk has them, dont think its an option in Australia
@@mudslidermudslider70 my 15 doesn't have any of the extra options on it. It's the basic trailhawk.
Just bought a 2020 TH and I agree with you on all 5 things. (so far)
I still love mine overall after 4 years and 100,000 plus miles with it.
Awesome 👍 awesome kids
Thanks! Really appreciate it!
nice hawk! I have a 2018 Hawk and love it. 35,000 and no issues :)
Thanks!
I'll have to say it actually does have a rear locker, skid plates and you can disconnect the sway bar.
@@MootsKLAdventure It is pretty good as is yes. I just want a manufacturer like Jeep to offer what the off road community wants from their Jeep Cherokee's. Especially the TrailHawk edition. Like I said though, it is pretty good as is.
@@seth3000gt I here you. Definitely not perfect and some things I would change.
The only thing that’s Fiat about the Cherokee is the platform. The drivetrain is Chrysler. It drives and rides great and plenty of people put 100-200k on them with little to no problems.
what is the name of the roof rack? where to buy one?
I'm using the Yakima Load Warrior rack. You can buy it on Amazon. I put a link to it in the description of the video if you want to check it out. I have a video on installing the rack as well if you want to check that out. One of my earliest video's so probably not my best stuff.
@@MootsKLAdventure спасибо, мой друг!
❤I have one
wheels got up without modification? or is there suspension tuning?
In order to fit that size tire I added the Hazard Sky 2inch lift,, cut back the pinch weld and then heat the front wheel well fender and molded it back. No suspension tuning.
@@MootsKLAdventure спасибо!
The transmission in my 2014 Trailhawk has been nothing but problems since I bought the car. Won't buy another one for sure.
I've heard people having issues with the transmission especially in the 14's. My 15 has been great so far. I'm at 120,xxx.

Power is ordinary at most as far as im concerned and the transmission is awfull But i still like it

Funny how people pop open the hood to show off a huge piece of plastic
Yeah you don't see much of the engine these days without popping that off.
Tengo una Cherokee KL limited motor 2.4, tracción delantera. Creo que está camioneta es básicamente para ciudad y carretera...
Ok thank you that makes me feel better! Also did you put the decals on the front fenders or did that come factory with the vehicle?
I added those. You can get them at several places. I've got an Amazon link in the description to them. I've also seen them on Hazard Sky's website and I think on etsy. I love the way they look.
Thank you I appreciate the info and all your videos!! Keep them coming
You bet. Hope it helps. We've enjoyed doing the videos
