- We're back at it with another round of artifacts from July of 2024, slowly working my way through the older finds trying get current! This video has a little bit of it all, but has a lot of big, small, and unusual tools of various types. And yes, i do have a lucky walking stick that ive been using for quite a while, and yes i can tell a difference if i don't have it with me! haha
I'd like to hear your thoughts on the piece at the 13 min mark. I have quite a number of these. Some with a polished bit end, some not. All flat on one side. I don't really see many in other peoples collection, or maybe just not displayed. I have about 16 in my collection, yet still not really sure what it is?! Thanks as always and please don't forget to subscribe if you havent done so. Comments or questions are always welcome!
Awesome finds man! Love that big blade!
I appreciate it man! That particular spot has spit out quite a few blades for me in the past few months. At the rate I’m going they will be in videos on here by September or so!😂
Great stuff as usual! Thank you for your time editing and all the work it actually takes to find these tools. I grew up on the harpeth and had many sweet finds as a child. Look forward to your next hunt(s)!
Thank you! One of my good friends grew up hunting the harpeth with his grandmother. The mammoth tusk at the TN state museum is on loan from that same friend. His grandmother found it sticking out of a gravel bar there on the harpeth! You literally never know what you’re going to find when you’re out hunting!
Great hunt. 🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍
I appreciate it buddy, and thanks for taking the time to check out the finds!
OK , Ben, you are killing it again! I loved hearing that cardinal singing along , it made is sound like a wonderful spring morning, and he was happy to point out where the goods were lying on the surface for you. Keep it up man, It really makes my day to see you add to your growing collection of treasure.
Haha thanks buddy! The sound of the birds definitely have me longing for the warm summer days again. Not that they aren’t active during the winter, but they are a little overactive in the spring! I appreciate you always taking the time to check out the new finds and comment. My name is Jack by the way! I know so many other Ben’s that hunt artifacts, even some with channels here on UA-cam, so I can see where you prob heard the name somewhere and mistook it for me. Hope all is well with you!
@@Points365 OK Jack, glad you cleared that up for me, I thought I had done a good job of figuring out your name, but I was wrong, but no problem. My name is Ulric, but my friends call me Ric. I figure we are friends because you keep showing me your collection. I an glad to comment on your finds all the time because , well, you are doing exactly what I would love to be doing, finding treasures and letting others enjoy them too.
Nice finds enjoyed watching thanks for sharing and good luck on your next outdoor adventure
I’m already planning the next trip out to hunt! Thanks for watching!
Breathtaking! Stunning! Superb! Remarkable! And now Speechless! I always get excited when you post. You rock 😎
Thank you, thank you, thank you, & thank you!! Haha that makes me excited that you, or anyone really, get excited about what little ol me finds and shares. I will say that these finds in this video are from July / August of last year. I’m so behind on making videos, but I share them in the relative order that I find them. That being said, I have some REALLY neat stuff found last year, and this year as well, that will eventually make its way to a video. I can’t wait to share! Thank you again and as always!
You had a great trip! They were all nice points and blades, including the large piece of pottery.
Thanks man! Yeah I’ve found a couple broken vessels sticking out of the mud like that before. Haven’t in a while and thought I’d record it this time to share with everyone. Maybe one of these days I’ll find all of the pieces to that puzzle! Haha I appreciate you checking it out!
@15:00 is my favorite, but I could fall in love with your last find too! 😉♥
That was a nifty little copena, with the grey and black. Different color than what I typically find, which 90% of my collection seems to be tan / dull grey! Peoples eyes usually gravitate to the ones with a little more color and flair! I’m sure it was the same for the natives as well. As always buddy, I appreciate it!
Great finds brother! Always look forward to seein what you find! Thank you.
Thanks buddy! I really do appreciate the regulars that come back to check out the finds. I was slow to put videos out last year as you can tell by the videos coming out now, consisting of finds from last summer.. but this year I plan on catching up and being better about it. Putting together videos is harder than getting out and finding the content for the videos! Hava
Excellent video and finds ! Love the music too 👍
Thanks so much! I’m not a big talker so I let the artifacts do the speaking for themselves.. the music, well I can’t think of anything better than bluegrass to go with artifacts to fill in the gaps of the sounds of nature with! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
Wow brother! Awesome finds! This is a great video
I appreciate it! I’m so backed up with artifacts to put put in videos that I’m still working on stuff found last summer. I believe all of these were found in July of last year. I’ve got some really good stuff on the way! I have to put out stuff in order that I find them otherwise I lose track of what has been put in videos. The struggle is real!😂 Thanks again!
Very nice group of points and pieces , killer finds . Congratulations
I appreciate it buddy! I’ll be sure to get another video together to put out in a couple weeks. I’ve got some good stuff coming up to put into future videos!
@ absolutely brother , I read some of the other comments, what ever you do keep your sites close to the vest they are spectacular!!! Quality!
Another awesome video with some more amazing pieces! Congrats as always and thank you for sharing your finds!
The Eagle chirping in the background and all the other birds talking are great too!
Thanks again and good luck!
Also katydids and those noisy cicadas(We'll all be alot older when we hear those again)! You ain't gonna hear anything but jibber-jabber and f-bombs on most other channels.
Oh man thank you! It really is my pleasure sharing this stuff with people such as yourself with similar interests. I’m glad someone picked up on the background noises! I love the sounds that are in the background with the birds, wind, water.. that’s PART of the reason I remain silent. It’s far better to hear all of that than myself! Plus all of those sounds have me longing for warmer weather! Thanks as always buddy!
Seeing a partial vessel sticking out of the sand is friggin amazing. Lol that had been down there a good while too! Where I hunt the odds of something even that size lasting very long once eroded out are slim.
I’ve only seen that a couple other times. I always find it fascinating so figured I’d throw that clip into the mix. I keep going back looking for more pieces, but nada! Seeing how frail they are, I honestly don’t know how ANY pottery survived that long?!
Nice video brother, alot of good finds.
A lot of chunky tools in this round! It’s the name of the game though. Thanks as always buddy!
I used to hunt you reminded me of how it was 20 years ago.
God bless you an your hunting 😊
Glad I was able to jostle up some fond memories! I’m sure I’ll look back at my old videos fondly one day. I appreciate you taking the time to check it out!
That's some awesome finds. I haven't been in awhile but it's coming just waiting for warmer weather.
It’ll be here before you know it! Heck it was 70° here yesterday. I’m waiting for the dreaded grass to start growing!
@Points365 our high for today will be 75 but still gonna wait for warmer weather
U always find such a VARIETY OF ATIFACTS........MANY ANCIENT PEOPLE GATHERED .......WORKED HARD 2 SURVIVE!😮😊
Thank you! I was telling someone earlier that this video didn’t really have anything that’ll blow your socks off, but definitely has a good assortment of neat and interesting tools and whatnot! But geez, worked hard they did indeed. Imagine the life they lived. So different from us now in nearly every way. Thank you again and as always friend!
Awesome finds it never gets old theres so much diversity and quality in the finds
I hear ya on that.. some “ghetto” as I call em, haha some next level quality.. I typically post them in the same relative order that I find them, so it’s a fairly accurate representation of what I’m finding in a 2-3 week timespan. Although these finds are within a 2-3 week timespan from back in July of last year. I’m slowly catching up and putting all my finds out there to be more recent. I will say that the more recent it gets, the finds definitely get better! The upcoming videos are gonna be exciting for me to share!
I always enjoy your videos! You always find the good stuff. Congratulations
Man I really appreciate it! I didn’t have any real hard hitters in the video, but I thought it was a good assortment of neat and interesting tools and whatnot! I have some good ones waiting to be put in videos, so be on the look out! Thanks again and as always buddy!
My Gosh, man !!
Amazing finds !!
That last one reminds me of one I found years back, except mine was a bit lighter shade...
Great show as always brother !!
😎✌🍀⛏⛏
I really do appreciate it man! The cover photo for this video really is what I love about artifact hunting… never knowing what’s going to come out of the mud! Is it broken? Is it whole? Just trying to figure out exactly what you’ve just found is exciting in itself. I bet you can remember everything about the day you found your blade years back. It’s something I think we all have in common. We forget why we just walked into a room.. but ask us where we found a particular Madison point and we can all of a sudden start spouting off about the day, what you were wearing, the barometric pressure, what you had for breakfast that day… 🤣
@Points365
Lol, I heard that !!!
My memory isn't what it used to be...I could tell ya where I found every point, probably within feet..😆👍
@@historylooker7 feet?! Bah… I bet inches!🤣
@Points365
You know it !!
🤣👍
Sweet finds once again. Do you think you will ever make a video of your collection?👍
I was just telling someone about the plans for that.. I do, it’s just the daunting task of recording the collection that isn’t fully displayed would be difficult. I still have every point I’ve ever found, so it’s a little overwhelming! But like I told someone.. house construction is in my near future. I plan on a section being dedicated to artifacts, which should make the collection video MUCH easier than my setup now! Haha
Man. Some super nice ones, stone axe piece was rough n cool. Pottery pieces too. Good work
Thanks man! That axe piece was one of my favorites. I don’t see many people displaying those for some reason. Probably because they are typically bulky like that… or at least the ones so have are. I have about 16 of them now. My first one I found years back is my nicest one too of course. I’ll never forget pulling that tobacco leaf back and seeing it laying perfectly on top right next to the stalk! Good times! Thanks again buddy!
Great video. Really like Dover flint. Think we have discussed that axe at 13 but I am getting old. I found 4 of them in my time on same body of water. I think they knocked these out quickly to either knock something (or someone). None of them had any polish. Pottery was awesome. Keep looking and be safe.
Dover is a material that’s very pleasing to the eye! Knowing you, we probably found our axes in the same general area. The first one, and nicest one I ever found was years back in a tobacco field. I’ll never forget pulling that leaf back and seeing that thing staring back at me! Haha But I have around 16 of them or so. I’d say only 6 of them have a polish on them. Not sure if chopping would create a polish, but we all know that soil would. All of mine are flat on one side as well, which makes me imagine them being tied onto the top of a 90°ish bend of a stick, kind of like you see their spades or hoes being hafted. Just a thought!
I like the second wonky one. Looks like what I find up here in the ne Moe often than not😂. Love the cids
Haha I find my fair share of wonky pieces! There’s this one spot I hunt and dang near everything found there is a little off. I joke that it was a village where they sent all the slower members of society to live together in peaceful wonky paradise! Haha thanks as always buddy!
I love your music! Is it not winter where you live?🤔 bare feet!! If so, you are very lucky. All your finds are beautiful ! I enjoy seeing the tools so well made! The blade at the end was lovely, and the lance one was, I think, my favorite. Keep on saving those beauties. Take care.
Welcome back! But it is most definitely winter here in Tennessee! Although it was 70°the other day.. the finds in this video were from July / Aug of last year. I’m pretty backed up with artifacts to put into videos and am slowly doing so in the order that I find them. I need to crank out more because I’ve got some really good stuff I’m excited to share! This video was loaded with the tools. I should’ve named it “tool time” or something! Haha Thanks again and as always friend!
piece at the 13:00 mark looks like a bowtie axe i believe, lots here in GA. awesome video as always!
I looked that up and I can def see the resemblance! I appreciate the input on it. Do all of them have a bit on each end, or are some blunt on one end?
some can be pretty crude but there are nicer symmetrical ones out there, just like celts etc that one looks like it was started and never finished imo
Nice Copena, nice T- drill, good Adze, nice Wells point, bid platter biface, knight island maybe? Idk on the chunk stone? Wow, another Copena, very god knife.
Man I love it! You can spout off the names of points like no big deal, meanwhile I’m over here dreaming of having those kind of skills!
What to say ? Oh, they are all awesome 👍, don't know if I will be able to hunt anymore, getting old and having trouble with my feet, damn it ! So ill have to keep watching you !😊 Good luck!
Dang.. that’s not what I wanna hear! Are you sure you can’t just get bionic feet installed… heck just get whole new mechanical legs, complete with grease fittings and hydraulics, so you can run faster and jump higher! But really, I hate hearing that man. I hope it’s something that can be remedied.
@Points365 bionic legs! That would be awesome, then I could just run down to your creek's and hunt those ! 😂, I'll be able to hunt a little seeing as the creek i find the most artifacts in is in my front yard! Seriously.
I’d love to see your collection! Have you ever made a video of that?
Naw man, I haven’t! I get that request often. I’m just not really sure how I’d go about doing it honestly. Haha there’s just so much, and still having every artifact I’ve ever found.. it’s a little overwhelming! Plus with frames being near $50 a pop these days, only a fraction is framed and displayed. I told my buddy I’m just gonna start gluing them to the wall! Haha When I get my artifact wing of the house built, I’ll make that vid! House construction is in the near future and believe me, I’m gonna draw a big square on the blueprint and tell em to make it happen!😂
@
Well I’m very jealous 😂 my collection still fits in side a wooden hut inside our dining room! I’ve watched your videos for about a year now and wherever your at is a honey whole! We farm along a muddy river with high sand hills along and that’s where I have the best luck especially after we work the field and after a good rain
👍 helluva mixto
If I find it, I’m sharing it! It’s not always super thin, super pointy stuff! Haha thanks as always buddy!
Motivation.
Honestly though.. seeing other finds motivate the heck out of me! I’ve always joked that people that go to artifact shows all probably leave and go straight to the nearest creek while they’re still riding that high!😂
That pottery was cool, I never find any on the river.
I find pieces every now and then, but hardly ever any big pieces like that. It was too neat not to share! Thanks as always bud!
So glad the raccoons don't realize what they are treading over. ;)
They were too busy daydreaming about getting into my garden again to realize what they were walking over! Haha
@@Points365 Squirrel thugs chased to 'coons out of 'my' garden...
I've got a lucky walking stick too! Not sure that I'd take any amount of money for it! Maybe
I’m sure yours is good and broken in just like mine too then! Haha Ive had mine for about 3 years now. It’ll snap on me one of these days, as all the past ones have done. Then the search for a new one will begin!
the ole barefoot bandit!!
Reason #43 why barefoot is better: I got a new pair of nice overpriced muck boots for Christmas. 3 weeks into January and my left book already leaks like all get out. I can’t wait until I can kick em off again!
Angela and the baker song
Angeline the baker, close! Good ear picking that up from the little snippets between videos!
Still dreaming of buying some property in TN. Was looking at a piece of unrestricted land in Dunlap. Price was right, but it seemed a little far from civilization. Ever heard of the place? Where would you look if you had to do it again? What part are you from?
Aw man, Dunlap is only 30 mins outside of Chattanooga. Thats just far enough away to feel secluded, but close enough to be able to have the work, and amenities of the “big city”! But where I’d look totally depends on the budget. I’m a cheap A, so I’d happily take the outskirts and save some money. I grew up in Nashville area. Nobody can afford to live there anymore as the transplants have jacked the price so far up. People live an hour outside of Nashville and make that commute every day. It’s crazy. Wilson county is a great place. Prob pricey though. Smith county is next to Wilson county, a little more country, a little farther out. Wilson co. is booming, it’s only a matter of time until it spreads to smith Co. Cheatham county is probably pretty reasonable too. I’d live in any of those areas in a heartbeat.
@@Points365 Yes, for some reason my eye keeps being drawn to Carthage, Lebanon, or Sparta on the map. Not sure why.
I really should go put boots on the ground in the spring. Right now I'm just looking at affordable listings on Zillow. I need to do something soon, as I'm 53, and retiring in Florida will be nearly impossible.
A cabin in the TN hills with a few chickens and goats sounds amazing.
Why didn’t you pick up the cent next to the log?
Oh man… really?! I never even saw it! Now I have to go back and rewatch. In the video titled “ride along day” at about the 15:07 mark, someone pointed out a red point laying in the water that I walked past. After rewatching I realized why I missed it, as I was looking the other way up in some tree roots. Seeing that red buck creek laying in the water haunts me to this day! Haha
Man, I love your style of videos, it’s definitely your own. I just my channel up and going but it’s not all about artifacts, just outdoors in general. This is a link to my last video about how we found a campsite on our property and it also highlights all of the artifacts we have found to date. I’d love to have your input if you know anything about any of the stuff we have found. Thanks again for your content! ua-cam.com/video/DcLe8GFaIAI/v-deo.htmlsi=Bm_u29wPxv-uSMXl
That sounds great, I’ll definitely check it out and give a sub! Every sub counts, and especially when you’re starting out for sure!
