Tom your work never ceases to amaze, you have a talent for design and segmenting like I have never seen before, your work is absolutely stunning .such detail and the patience needed I can only imagine you must have a few sleepless nights coming up with these masterpieces, thanks for uploading this and the other videos, you are truly a master of your craft. cheers Ross
Hi, but you have patience when gluing excessively small pieces of wood. Are you already retired or are you still actively working? How long does it take you to glue such a beautiful thing.?
You are really good. Excellent work. And kudos to your patience. I also enjoy such work, but I don't have time for it. Not even the kind of material you have in the United States of America.
I bet with that jig you could create a nice even spacing in segments.. then make a lamp shade. light would shine through the gaps. when you cut the bottom off this bowl, it made me think of Tiffany lamp shades.
I make basket illusions and thought that since I use a 1/8" bead and vertical burn marks are 1/8" apart why can't I build each layer with 1/8" x 1/8" pieces? If I did is the individual pieces cut an angle? The jig is interesting also but first things first.
Wow Tom your work is amazing. Once again I can not even believe the level of precision going into this piece. Well done and great video. What is the turntable and precision guide stop for the segments you use, did you make it? Thanks for sharing!
Fabulous work Tom! That jig is pretty sharp. Maybe you could do a video outlining how you did it? We can gather bits and pieces of it's design from you using it, but an in-depth video would be appreciated.
I just can't imagine how ill I'd feel, if I put that much work into making such a beautiful bowl only to end up cutting the bottom out of it. It's about time to learn how to measure the bottom of the bowl depth, and to not go beyond that measurement.
Hi. I heard your lathe making knocking noise. You should check out youtube video " Strange thumping noise from my lathe". This seems to be a comon problem with these lathes. Great video.
Tom, i've been working on 48 segment and larger closed rings. I see you're assembling rings with many more segments than that. keeping them round is the biggest problem i having. are you using any jigs or tools that you'd be willing to share?
Scott, I removed your comment on Big Red by accident, there is not a function to get the output from Segment PRO to build a spreadsheet, it is all manual.
First time I have seen anyone use feeler gauges and dial caliper for woodworking. Amazing attention to detail and gorgeous bowls. New subscriber.
Tom I am from Romania and I want to tell you, you're a TRUE ARTIST OF WOOD!

Your patience knows no bounds! End result was beautiful!
You have the patience of a saint. This is just gorgeous. Once again how long did this piece take you?
Wow! It's such a pleasure to watch a master at work. Thank you
Сколько же времени это всё нарезать и клеить ....excellent!
Это было некоторое время назад, но я думаю, что это заняло около 60 часов
una obra maestra felicitaciones

I am retired, but made this bowl when I working. This piece took around 80 hours, but I have made a vase that took 500 hours.
You are really good. Excellent work. And kudos to your patience. I also enjoy such work, but I don't have time for it. Not even the kind of material you have in the United States of America.
WELL DONE FOR YOUR PATIENCE, BEAUTIFUL!!
Wow Tom! you have an enormous amount of ambition. love the use of spreadsheets.
Wow. And I thought Lego was time consuming! You must have a lot of rainy days where you live. That is simply breathtaking.
This is absolutely incredible! Wonderful work.
holy crap dude, this is insane. I've done a few segmented bowls but nothing like this. you made my head spin and hurt. Thumbs up!
Ken
Excellent work, beautiful...!
Cheers...

Absolutely amazing! How many hours do you have invested in that?
Incredible work, vision, patience, endurance, precision. Working to .001 with wood is amazing, Marvelous results. Thanks for sharing on UA-cam.
Wow!
How long did that take?
And that jig is fantastic! :-)
Inspiring!!
Thanks again,

First off these are beyond beautiful and so far beyond what a normal human being can accomplish. Your brain must be in a different galaxy.
Thank you Tom! For the record my brain is from Duluth, MN :)

Thanks, I did the design and had it made using a water jet CNC
Very impressive and the segment arm spacer is that parts from incra and more of your design and implementation?
Yes, this is my design and my construction. The index wheel, knob, tee bracket and hub I had milled.
Absolutely beautiful. Did you make your assembly / gluing jig? Where can I get one from?
I built the jig Don, it cost a lot of money to build, around $700
Fabulous work Tom!

Another GREAT bowl Tom.
Love it.
wow that's unbelievable !

Len Mullin He didn't cut the bottom out of it.
Len, Shil is correct, this is how I do my bowls. The bottom is the last thing I do on a bowl.
Thanks Shil.

Everybody else has already said it. Nothing more I can add.
