51:54 for people wondering why Werster raged, the sudowoodo advances the RNG and the RNG is so tight to get Raikou 0, so the bonk could've (and did) cost him Raikou 0
I don't know what Raikou 0 is. When he encountered the beasts at the burned tower Raikou moved first and he was pissed about it
@@ThePenguinsKing Simple explanation: he's doing RNG manipulation to get a specific Raikou with very good stats. Depending on how the run goes, there's two different Raikou's he can get; 0 and 1. 0 is preferable, but he still continues the run if he gets 1.

@@ThePenguinsKing Raikou 0 has different stats that allow you to have a much safer Red fight and also get a few more time saves in the run

I had a good feeling that this was a Raikou 0 run, but was still tempted to ask, but then I figured that I would just wait the telltale lack of a repel on route 32 that even my limited knowledge of the differences between the two knows about! Edit, oof the route for Raikou 0 but ended up getting Raikou 1, all because of one bonk, rough.
He says in the faq that he'll try to nickname Raikou 1 "I" or "J" and Raikou 0 "." or ","
So next time you see it live you can probably know which one it is

I saw the run that ended to a bad Red the other day on stream so seeing that you picked up a new WR is a nice pick me up.
The big funny of new routes and optimization, even not good runs can become WR, hopefully Werster gets an actual good run soon and is free from this game.

The thing i find just meh about Gen2 runs is the Master Ball Manip for Raikou. Crushing most of the game with a Legie is less exciting imo. But i get why its used.

Regardless, still a great run, shame that a bad Red fight can ruin it all in the end but at least that makes things cinematic.

Was there ever a point/run where you were on WR pace and realized that you were talking so much shit/memeing around with Chat in the beginning, that you were thinking "oh fuck I hope this isn't WR" ?

I would assume it has to do with the text wasting time.
It has to do with the damage from discharge and how speed is calculated between the enemy pokemon. Discharge does 75% damage when there is multiple pokemon on the field for the move to hit. Because bellossom is paralyzed, parasect outspeeds it where normally bellossom is faster. Discharge will also hit the faster pokemon first, which in this case is parasect. Discharge at 75% power is not enough to one shot parasect, but it is at 100%.Hhowever if bellossom wasn't paralyzed, then discharge would've hit it first and killed it, leaving just parasect on the field for discharge to do the 100% damage and having it get one shot.

IV + nature yeah. To get it you have to be in advance in terms of RNG, and it's why in this run Werster doesn't get it. He made an hour long video explaining the principles behind that if you're interested.

Because he cheats, which will eventually come out just like it always does. 99% of speed runners and “wr” holders manipulate the game in some way. Just like most pro athletes use steroids to win, the same goes for speed runners. You won’t find many that don’t cheat in some way that’s not noticeable without extensive research or access to their data. A good player will make it look like they get bad luck or have set backs, but then they’ll manipulate other areas for better luck to make up for what they purposely messed up
