    Tropic Isle has a hair growth oil which is really good, it has castor oil, olive oil, grapeseed oil, almond oil, jojoba, avocado oil , lavender, lemon oil, cedarwood oil, etc. In my 9 year loc journey this has been my most favorite oil and I love the smell!
    Would love you to do a loc wash video 🤗

      Where can I get this

  • @ShadesofSage
    @ShadesofSage Рік тому +1

    I keep my routine really simple too😀! I only use an 50/50 blend of avocado oil and olive oil to retwist. The consistency is like how you were describing- not too thick and not too thin. Plus shampoo of course! I’m one of those people if it’s not broke, don’t fix it, but if the oils ever stops working for me, I’d give the grapeseed oil a try 👍🏿! Thank you for sharing ❤!

      Perfect! My husband and I have an avocado allergy oddly enough! I can’t eat it at all and he can’t use it on his skin. He did as a recommendation from a loctician and learned it the hard way!

    Have you used oils all your life on your locs? I just started a new set and one month, it’s loc’d but not mature but I just use shampoo, should I include oil , won’t that inhibit the process? I like the way it’s happening really fast .. meanwhile I have avocado, sweet almond oil(all cosmetic grade), coconut and olive oil at home. What do you think?

      Yes I’ve always used oil in my hair to seal in moisture. I like that you have a good wash routine. Test out the oils you like one at time to see which ones work best for you. Sometimes oil doesn’t work for everyone (some people have allergies to certain oils, so be mindful of the ingredients.) I coat my hair with grape seed oil after a wash while it’s still a little damp.

      @@nattyann yeah my last dreads, the tips broke off after 4 years so I am not sure if that’s the reason or if you’ve ever experienced stuff like that. It wasn’t dramatic tho just one or two . I will try out a few like you’ve said & yes you are right I can’t leave oils on my scalp like most people do. I will itch like crazy so I do it a night before I wash. I just don’t apply on the body but I will experiment. Thanks for always responding anyway. Much appreciated.

      Girl don’t feel no type of way, I have locs where the tips thinned out! And oddly enough a few of them did that at the same point. I feel like it’s just natural shedding honestly, because it’s the oldest part of the hair and it never gets the chance to shed everyday. Now if it was breaking from the root I would be a little concerned. So the oil thing is interesting because some people scalp cant take it at all. A loctician used avocado oil on my hubby and is scalp flaked and itched so bad! So don’t use oil on your scalp if it makes you itch.

    Not true what you said about tea tree oil. There are only 2 essential oils that can be used directly on the skin and that's Tea Tree Oil and Lavender Oil 😉

    Simply is it! For me, its Almond Oil and Coconut Oil mixed with a bit of Jamaican Black Castor Oil with Coconut. Thats all. Sometimes I switch out the JBC Coconut with JBC Oil with Peppermint. Spray bottle with Distilled Water. Thats All!
