    Khadija, I hope that you sorted out the photo thing with Green Beauty. She gives really helpful, straightforward advice on her channel. • @HennaSooq
      @HennaSooq  2 роки тому +30

      The photos that I take are not in the public domain or not assigned to the public by me for use by the public. The photos I take are my property and they probably end put in the public domain because people take them off google and just go ahead and use them without permission and sometimes not really realizing. I definitely feel very strongly that people should use and produce their own content (especially when you're making money off of something), unless they buy the rights to use that content or it's been given to them. That is something that definitely bothers me. I work hard to create every photo and every video clip, hours and hours. I respectfully disagree that this is not theft. - Khadija

      @@DeepRootedwithTulani that's why it's a reaction view. To share my own opinion on it. and also our photo of Moroccan henna powder is trademarked and that's different then a public video being shared. I see your point though but a trademark does hold more weight and is actual property and taken by me personally so it's not for outside commercial nor personal use, except by Henna Soq. UA-cam reaction videos are kind of normal. That would mean all reactions including TikTok would be all in the wrong too then. I feel a photo that you didn't take shouldn't be used in content unless you site the source at least. We sited the sources of all videos and this gives them traction too.

    In science, products are organic or inorganic. I don't think she was referring to organic as in no pesticides were used but organic as it was grown from the earth and not a lab.

    • @khadijadawncarryl4845
      @khadijadawncarryl4845 3 роки тому +4

      Yes I believe she may be. But what people mean and what is clear for standards are different and causes so much confusion. Just because something is natural doesn't make it organic. Because the word organic is used to loosely. Organic should rally be that a product is organically certified. Brands can't make organic claims because USDA will get them. We've had to make sure of that.

      Don't go by the curl pattern solely when choosing hair products. To determine if you need heavy or light oil application, go by the diameter of your hair strands. In other words, are your strands fine, medium or course. If you have fine strands, a lot of oil in your hair will wear it down, especially if your density aka amount of strands soer follicle is low. Density is about the thickness of your hair. If your hair is thick with fine strands. You can use an oil but lean towards light oils and don't apply too much.

    Hey Khadijah, thank you for this video. I just discovered your channel this evening and binged on a few. I'm loving it 😍 I've heard so much about your brand Henna Sooq from Curly Proverbz but only got into Ayurvedic treatments thisbyear.
    I wanted to ask you if i coukd use Amla and the Aloe powder in a Fenugreek Tea spray that I use everyday. I'll be washing ny gair every week and wanted to know if it was ok to use as a leave in spritz and then follow up with my sealant?
    Thank you in advance for answering ❤️

    Serious question:
    I am trying to lighten my hair at the moment
    Will your product, the Amal Oil (not the Dabur as I know it will) darken my hair over time
    I really don’t want that, but I do want the benefits of your product
    Please and thank you 😊

    I just want to say that as much as I love what being conscientious about using 'clean' products has done for my hair and body, I do not appreciate green washing. I understand how you feel about the dabur amla oil and to a large extent, I share your thoughts on it. However, in India, purchasing power is not what it is in the US. So if they make it more affordable by mixing in some silicones, I do not think that it is necessarily a bad thing. Pure amla oil can be quite expensive. I think instead of shaming these companies, more effort can be done to educate consumers which is what you do on your channel - and it is something I really appreciate.

    Just to let you know organic is just another way to say natural. Not the way you are thinking. People say they want their relationship to develop organically, which means naturally. Many words can be used with different meaning.

    • @cookiedho
      @cookiedho 2 роки тому +6

      But the words organic and natural don’t actually hold the same meaning. Not even close to a synonym. It can be natural, but she explained that it doesn’t mean it’s organic. So like she said, she knows people use it as if it’s the same, - doesn’t mean it’s accurate. If it’s like that then people are using it wrongly in my eyes. Most words can be used with different meaning, but what you’re basically trying to say is that they have the same meaning, but they don’t actually have all that much in common from what I know.

      @@cookiedho In the “whyte” folks dictionary, no they do mean anywhere near the same thing. However, in the AAVE (African American Vernacular English) organic is going with the flow, not forced, “natural”.

      I agree that yes, personally, when it comes to henna, I don't differentiate between natural and organic. However, I acknowledge that there is a difference. Organic means that something is grown without pesticides, which upon consumption can get into the bloodstream. However, there are some foods/plants that are grown without pesticides (no need) and amla/need is one of them. Which means that in these cases, it makes no difference in the product if it is certified organic or not - as far as I can tell anyway.

      You can use different henna powders for coloring with indigo but cassia is not henna. So you can use cassia but it might leave your hair green toned if you use it with indigo.

    If you would get straight amla oil you wouldn’t need to cover the the added scents. Hello quit being cheap you get what you pay for. If it has more than amla and base oil DO NOT BUY IT. This is my mantra…. Do you but understand you are opening yourself up to putting bad/unhealthy additives on you hair and scalp (which gives it access to your body). 💙

My hair is naturally strawberry blonde and dont want to lose the color, but want the benefits of amla and shikakai (i hear also can darken hair). So far I am just looking to camelia (i think thats the spelling?) oil, fenugreek powder, zizyphus, so on... but amla and shikakai seem to be key ingredients but can darken my hair color i really like

      Melanin is something you have to already have. So it restores the melanin of dark hair. It can’t add melanin to hair that already lacks it. So people with blonde hair don’t have to worry about darkening.
