One of my favorite suits. It's so crude. I still get chills everytime it powers on for the first time, and how it kills the lights in the cave. Excellent usage of diecast on this, the whole thing feels and looks eerily real. I was surprised how light it was, which is good - I had concerns about how well the body underneath was going to withstand the weight over time, but now, I have none. The ankles are really nice and tight, too. The height is a bit of a problem, but personally, I don't really care about it too much. Definitely more accurate to RDJ himself, but I would've preferred if it scaled up with most of the rest. There are so many things I'd wanna comment on, but I also want to keep these comments on the shorter side, haha. Yet another slam dunk review, Justin!! Much appreciated.
That's an engineering masterpiece in 1 :6th scale,it's beautiful in its complexity, well done hot toys, great review Justin,I must have missed it when you released it though
Thanks for your honest review. I have the 2.0 version. That figure is in my hall of armor. I dig the weathering much better on mine. This new one will be a great buy for those missing a Mark 1 in their collection.
Kind of a shame, the gauntlets are not die cast but it’s not a deal breaker. The detail is too good to pass. Also this figure literally represents the birth of the MCU. I missed out on the original mark I, I didn’t this time. I’m slowly plugging in all the gaps with Irom Man hot toy figures.
Wow, This review, actually has me stopping selling my Mark 1 2.0. Not sure I'll cancel the Diecast pre-order, but I might have one for the Hall of Armor, and one for a seperate display. Curious if there is a way to disconnect the servo, but keep the lighting.
I'm returning my diecast. We are happy with the 2.0. Better surface detail on the armor, better face paint on the portrait and no stupid cable to attach just to light it up.
I have the 2.0. It looks almost "matte", it doesn't really look made out of metal and it always looks too dark and plastic next to the rest of diecasts. It does have more texture detail but that detail fails to convey the look of real metal. The new one doesn't have that problem, and looks like the actual armor in all scenes in the movie (the way the light reacts to the metal surface and new paintjob vs the overdone textured surface of 2.0). In this case "more detail-shading better".
Not really, as you can see in the video when the light hits it there is definitely a metallic glint to it. Maybe your one's paint has dulled over time?
@@JustinsCollection Thanks for the reply. Perhaps? It really looks very dull compared to every other "armored" metal hot toys I have, the texture and paint is top class, but instead of shining it absorbs the light. New one lacks the sheer detail in each metal piece, but gains all of that reflection. Matter of taste, I overwhelmingly prefer the new one. Thanks for all the care you pour in each of your videos, I make a lot of my purchases based on your videos and comments.
Greta review as always Justin. One note though! Cross referencing with images from the movie, I actually think the smoother, less detailed metal finish is more accurate! I do agree the more detailed version looks a little bit better though.
I would bet that the back wheel can be disconnected. I had problems with the lights on The Bat and traced it back to micro connectors, which I'm betting are also utilized in this suit and can be disconnected without damage. I guess I'll find out when I get mine from Sideshow sometime in the next two years.
Is the die cast really better? Well if you’re like me and the die cast is your first and only mark 1 you’ll ever own, then it absolutely is! Really looking forward to getting this one in!
I have the 2013 2.0 version. I am happy with it and see no need to get the new version. I do like the paint applications and detail better on the older version and personally, I don't need it to be diecast. The new figure is still a nice piece though. Great review as always.....
If you have the USB on, cut the power at the wall and then back on will the features come on? My goal is to turn it on without having to push the little button on the back each time. Does that make sense? Is that possible? Thx
I saw you try 2 move the rubber pieces on both sides but it really didn't move very smoothly & I'm curious because on mine it's the same way hardly any movement or rotation at all. And as for the Generator I think it sounds very nice it adds that little extra to this very beautiful piece & everything else on this IM-M1is awesome!

In hand (I have them both) The diecast face paint is waaaay too clean. The 2.0 has much more character, the face paint is darker (dirtier, just like the film) which really brings out all the subtle features in the portrait sculpt. Also, the belt/codpiece on mine was glued into the torso and it was very crooked. The 2.0 is free floating. Keep the 2.0!

I had this charging from sideshow yesterday but I put it on payment plan because I wanted to watch reviews first. I never owned the other releases but I do think this is worth the money. I want this to go next to the 85 (the first and last armor). If I didn't have a prime 1 statue to pay for I could have this by this week, but this has to wait for now.
I just got my figure and had to watch a review to see how the heck to power it on. I don't like the usb. Why not just use batteries like most of the other figures. I do feel this version looks more movie accurate. In the film you can see the shine of the armor. The plastic one is a bit too dirty and dull. But yet the diecast is a bit too clean.
Looking forward to getting mine! I think I may be the only one that won’t mind the fan noise, haha. I was honestly anticipating it to be loud though cause it adds to the presence and raw nature of the suit. Plus, I personally wouldn’t see a reason to have it on if it was so quiet you couldn’t hear it. Especially with it being in the back 🤷🏽♂️ Great review as usual though!

if you don't want that helmet I'll take it off yer hands, that cave escape impacted my child brain more than you can possibly imagine. Also the MK1 would stand a little taller than tony because of the sheer amount of metal he's wearing, giving him just a few extra inches.
