Very subtle acting by Downey at 2:27 When Yensen tells him his family is dead. He goes from sadness and grief for his newfound friend to visible anger when he realises it was most likely his weapons that caused their murder. I believe this moment was pivotal in his character making the decision to stop all weapon manufacturing and ultimately become Iron Man.
More like the brutality of a terrorist organization like the 10 rings in this part of the world is used to killing families without hesitation, not specifically his weapons? Regardless, he does personally take responsibility of the chaos and war he perpetuates with his weapons industry and it definitely changes his stance
2:33 What I love here is that Tony looks like he's about to shatter His face is twitching and fighting every nerve to not break down and mourn his friend A combination of anger, sadness, and a lifetime of regret
It’s basically why I understand Tony for Ultron and Civil War. Everything he did was to uphold Yin Sen’s wishes for him. He just wants world peace, a world without weapons or war.
I feel so sad when yinsen dies and when he says my family is dead, when he passed away you can see the rage in Tony’s eyes and face and he just turns and see the people who killed the man who saved him, I think he really enjoyed burning those people

I think there's another meaning to "Don't waste your life." Earlier they talked about how Tony had everthing, but nothing. No family. In the end he did get that.
Yinsen's death always hit me hardest in the MCU, not only because of his family's innocence being wronged, but for the profound impact it had on Tony's life. Stark once lived his life as a materialistic playboy, yet as someone who was once proud of creating weapons like the Jericho Missile, Yinsen steered Tony towards a more benevolent path, which ultimately led him to question his very motives by the Sokovian Accords... to ultimately saving the universe, at the cost of his life. That's a full circle if I ever saw one, and I still wish Endgame included a final scene of these two together, coming onto their peace.

THIS (Yinsen's last words) is the moment that the main character of this movie transforms from "Tony Stark, playboy arms dealer" to "Iron Man, superhero".
Yup! Standing at a crossroad, shit got real for Mr Stark. The "don't waste your life" line is similar to the Saving Private Ryan scene where a dying Tom Hank's says: "earn this", to Matt Damon.
And to think of it, it took Tony more than 3 days just to ask Yinsen's name, which speaks a lot about Tony's narcissistic character. Yinsen is the man who changed Tony. He made him care about others. He showed him the value of live. Thats why it hits really hard when he dies. Tony wouldn't be the man who he was if it wasn't for him. Hence Yinsen is one of the most important character in the MCU.
@@xshxr No need to bring up Scorcese or any other filmmaker. It's plenty of super hero films outside the MCU a lot darker than TWS and they're all targeted towards children.
@@xshxr All 3 Dark Knight films are darker than TWS. Also the 2000s X men trilogy as well as Origins Wolverine and First Class. I'd say even 2003 Hulk and Daredevil are at least as dark as TWS. Not saying it's a bad film it's my favorite MCU but not dark at all.
this is one of the most emotional scenes I've seen, and I really like how it went deep with the characters. You never see Stark be this open after a while when it first came out.
The moment that Yinsen died was when Tony truly realized how much suffering his life's work had done to the world. Tony seeing the soldiers protecting him be killed and later being kidnapped and held hostage for months under the threat of death definitely made Tony go through some much needed humbling as he seriously needed to be taken down a few pegs, but the soldier's deaths didn't hit Tony as emotionally as much as Yinsen's since he wasn't that close to the soldiers. Seeing his friend who saved his life more than once be killed by some of the very weapons his company produced to supposedly protect innocent people, made Tony finally feel a small taste of how much suffering and pain his life's legacy in making weapons brought to innocent people after so many years in arrogant ignorance. Tony's pained look of so much regret and self-hatred he gained for himself and how he lived his life on 2:32 (portrayed brilliantly by Downey I might add) shows us how he now understands how Yinsen is only 1 out of countless people (possibly including Yinsen's family) who have suffered indirectly all because of him. In the end Yinsen never blames Tony despite how much Tony blames himself, and tells his short lived friend to not waste his 2nd chance to learn and grow from his past sins instead of dwelling on them. In the beginning of this movie Tony was definitely not a man who was worth saving (and even Tony admits later on in the movie that compared to so many other good people who should've survived, he shouldn't have lived), but it was because of 1 man's selflessness for a selfish man that ended up with not only Tony's life being saved both physically and morally, but a decade and a half later an entire universe being saved.

THIS....this was the defining moment of Tony Starks life....when he chose a new path. Sometimes he strayed a little and sometimes he was reluctant, BUT in the end he stayed true to it. To sacrifice himself for the entire Universe.....for his loved ones.....for his daughter......THAT was what everything in his life had really led up to. RIP Tony Stark....RIP Iron Man.
I always liked this scene, and especially at the very end when it sounds like Tony is loading some kind of weapon just as he's turning toward the cave entrance. You're thinking, "Man, you guys are gonna pay big-time."
Despite being the least advanced of the Iron Man suits, this is actually one of my favorites. I’ve always had a soft spot for this type of metal plating, seeing all of the welds and rivets. It’s why I like the Dwemer from the Elder Scrolls so much, why WW1 and WW2-era tanks look so much more appealing to me, and why I love seeing a superhero in armor like this, when you can clearly see they’re wearing actual armor (like Batman’s suit in Arkham Knight), not some boring, slim nano tech.
@@TheBeastInBlack to me it’s just too clean. The original suits felt realistic enough for you to suspend your disbelief but the nano tech was completely out there. But knowing Tony it does make sense so it could be worse
Yinsen is the hero; he helped Tony change for the better. Tony is no hero; he's fighting in -revenge- memory of the hero that saved him; he's an Avenger.
It would have been more for the fans than Tony if they did that. Unlike batman where his entire crusade is based around his parents murder, Tony had a long list of reasons for it. As important as yinsen was, he was just one of many reasons why Tony changed. Ultimately he was a small part of everything and it's more than likely that by the time endgame came around Tony had forgotten everything about him besides the fact that he saved his life.
It would've been a really 'oh shit' moment if they did have Yinsen make an appearance. Maybe alongside Morgan or before Morgan appears. It could be something like his journey starting with a person who steered him on the path to do right and the beautiful person that his new, righteous self helped create and fought to protect.
That was the first friend Tony lost in his life and he died right in front of his eyes to terrorists that Tony had unknowingly been selling the weapons he created to. You can see how it changed his entire outlook on life.

In Avengers: Endgame where Tony snapped his fingers, there should’ve be a scene where Tony visits the Soul dimension, and then meets Yinsen. They both don’t talk. Yinsen then looks at Tony, and smiles. Knowing that Tony didn’t waste his life for nothing. That would’ve been a real tear jerker… 😭
2:23 - When you look back at this and realize that the extra bit of emotion coming from Tony when he said "we gotta go see your family" and he responded "My family is dead. I'm going to see them now Stark" was because at this moment his family (both of his parents) are dead - killed by countries at war. Tugs a bit more at you now.
I think the coolest part about the Mark 1 is how realistic of a prototype it seems like. All the metal sheets are welded together with the wiring not particularly organized cleanly. Tony and Yinsen weren't focused on streamlining it and making it sleek. Like all engineers, they were focused on making it actually work first and foremost. The cleaning up and improvements fell on Tony afterwards.
Fun fact: The reason the effects from this movie hold up so well was because this suit was entirely practical (though, not the flamethrowers and rocket launcher of course). This is partially true for the other suits in the movie, with everything above the waist on those ones being practical.

Without Yinsen, Tony wouldn't have been able to save everyone.
1:33 “You should have gone for the eyehole”
O que acabou de acontecer aqui?
THIS....this was the defining moment of Tony Starks life....when he chose a new path.
Sometimes he strayed a little and sometimes he was reluctant, BUT in the end he stayed true to it.
To sacrifice himself for the entire Universe.....for his loved ones.....for his daughter......THAT was what
everything in his life had really led up to. RIP Tony Stark....RIP Iron Man.
3:01 was the exact moment that Iron Man was born
I always liked this scene, and especially at the very end when it sounds like Tony is loading some kind of weapon just as he's turning toward the cave entrance. You're thinking, "Man, you guys are gonna pay big-time."
Love how much the Mark 1 feels like an old horror movie monster. She will always be my favorite.
Yinsen: stark
Tony: yinsen?... Did I waste it?
Yinsen: No
Yinsen changed Tony's life...forever
Such a powerful moment
I always thought the Mark 1 looked really cute like a cartoon robot, with a cute face and chubby body and it's adorable and goofy when it moved.
Have Tony be like in a booming robotic voice.

🤖I'm a pretty girl
👹IIIIIIMMM A PRETTY GIRL. 🥳
I've seen this movie so many times as a kid. had the bed sheets, the toys, the helmet, the suit for Halloween.. pure nostalgia
I liked how it was simple but complex at the same time
What makes nano tech suit boring though?
@@TheBeastInBlackdoesn’t look as cool imo
@@TheBeastInBlack to me it’s just too clean. The original suits felt realistic enough for you to suspend your disbelief but the nano tech was completely out there. But knowing Tony it does make sense so it could be worse
How to build a hero.
Yinsen is the hero; he helped Tony change for the better.
Tony is no hero; he's fighting in -revenge- memory of the hero that saved him; he's an Avenger.
@@geocross237,are you friends with Gordon? That sounds like when he was talking about Batman not being a hero
How to build a scraps
It's so frustrating to know that tony's daughter was in deleted scene instead of yinsen. I think it was going to be a real heart-touching scene
What? It makes more sense for it to be Morgan
@@ronaldrump5058 Morgan has her moment with Stark in the funeral scene anyway
It would have been more for the fans than Tony if they did that. Unlike batman where his entire crusade is based around his parents murder, Tony had a long list of reasons for it. As important as yinsen was, he was just one of many reasons why Tony changed. Ultimately he was a small part of everything and it's more than likely that by the time endgame came around Tony had forgotten everything about him besides the fact that he saved his life.
ua-cam.com/video/KmLk3ce3z80/v-deo.html (sorry for posting a link ) Tony Was The GOAT 😎🙏
It would've been a really 'oh shit' moment if they did have Yinsen make an appearance. Maybe alongside Morgan or before Morgan appears. It could be something like his journey starting with a person who steered him on the path to do right and the beautiful person that his new, righteous self helped create and fought to protect.
You can already see how he becomes the Modern Tony Stark. It’s like he”s constantly being nudged in that direction.
1:57 That dodge and return with his own missile has sparked such an iconic move he's continued
this movie has more soul than most of mcu phase 4
Forget phase 4,
The whole mcu in general lol
Steve didn't return the Soul Stone. Tony took it with him when he died. That's why Phase 4 is so soulless.
It has more soul than anything that came after it
That was the first friend Tony lost in his life and he died right in front of his eyes to terrorists that Tony had unknowingly been selling the weapons he created to. You can see how it changed his entire outlook on life.
1:02 homies really betrayed him like that
He don't pay the bills💀🙏
2:02 Thats still better than the Ex-Wife
Lol
2008: "Dont waste it."
2019: I...Am...Iron Man...(snap)
I love the MCU because of stuff like this!
They should do a call back to Yinsen in Endgame or give a scene where Tony remembers his friend
Somewhere in Afghanistan, Tony making his first suit in a cave right now after failing to evacuate by plane...
Only in movies. The real Tony Starks are Taliban
1:18 Iron man: *banging on the doors *
Some terrorist in Spanish: "uhh...chalkboard!"
That armor design! For the Emperor!
Wait, wrong universe.
This is why I love the older suits just the mechanical sounds they make when he moves and when they're put on its so satisfying
It's funny cause this was the entire middle East the first time they saw a knight in plate armor.
@sbcontt YT This guy gets it. You’d be a walking stove wearing plate armor in the desert.
Wait till you find out about the medieval period
@@Nomans_Nomen depends on where and when you wore it because a desert isn’t always hot
@sbcontt YT I'd say the armor was very feasible, it would be the gambeson that got ya. Plate armor wasn't the hottest or coldest.
He is just like Thanos in Infinity War and the soldiers are the avengers
Shit simile 😂😂
foreshadow??
dinkle mckinkle possibly, but I doubt marvel had planned infinity war a decade in advance.
Bruh infinity war is like the opposite of almost every fight movie.Instead of the villain losing, the villain wins 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
The guy who shot himself in the head was star lord lmao
In Avengers: Endgame where Tony snapped his fingers, there should’ve be a scene where Tony visits the Soul dimension, and then meets Yinsen. They both don’t talk. Yinsen then looks at Tony, and smiles. Knowing that Tony didn’t waste his life for nothing.
That would’ve been a real tear jerker… 😭
lovin the quality. great scene as well
“Don’t waste your life.” Great now I’m tearing up again. Damn it Tony
It's kind of nice that Yinsen's kindness is ultimately what saves the universe. Good makes more good.
I like to think Tony went to the Soul Stone plane, met Yinsen again and he said "you didn't waste it"
Hits different when you realise that Yinsen's death is the reason Tony was so obsessed with suiting up faster with each movie.
I always had a soft spot for Yansen because he died for iron man He always makes me cry whenever I see him on the bed at 1:52
Technically spiderman died for iron man too but was in the stone
*1:53
Terrorists: **Shoot guns at Tony**
Tony in his bullet proof armor: “That’s cute.”
I try not to get too deep with these movies but man that “don’t waste your life” line really hits deep now.
I love that this suit is much more of a huge chunk of metal than having this unique "robotic vibe" that the very next versions have to them, really.
It's more meaningful now with what Tony did in his final moments: He didn't waste his life.
He gave his life to save life……..so In the end he didn’t waste his life
I love how both Steve and Tony's Heroic journey started with both two old white haired doctors.
This is one of Tony's most ruthless moments in the series
One of my most favorite scenes.
Yinsen, You will be missed.
love mark 1 suit
Yinsen: *Don’t waste your life*
Tony: *Casually saves half the universe from disappearing*
Fun fact: The reason the effects from this movie hold up so well was because this suit was entirely practical (though, not the flamethrowers and rocket launcher of course). This is partially true for the other suits in the movie, with everything above the waist on those ones being practical.
Tony to Yinsen: "Thank you for saving me."
The Universe to Tony: "Thank you for saving me."
And this guy couldn't lift Thor's hammer
And Meh he at this low point in his life probably could but he redeemed his swag in the following movies
He isn't worthy
It's not about strength dumbass it's about worthiness
Mikey Grimshaw hulk can't lift it.
Kiki Manurung Safii i know? As I mentioned before its about worthiness? Who the heck said anything about the hulk? Lol
That dude was the real hero who saved the world. He gave his life to save Tony.
Best movie in the franchise. Best in the MCU.
