I'm not gonna lie? Nothing against G5, but the fact we got two console games for G5 and ZERO for the phenomenon that was G4 has left me /really/ bitter.

It's because Hasbro sold the rights to MLP games to Gameloft for ten years, but with G5 being technically its own thing, Hasbro can do a lot more with it. That's why the mobile game ended up being the only one for all that time.

Legends Of Equestria is the only fan made game that is made for you to run around G4 world of Equestria
I understand how you feel man I miss them too but just remember that they are always with you in your heart and they are always there for us when we need them so it's time for US to move on we had enjoyed great adventures with twilight pinkie fluttershy apple jack rarity and rainbow dash but now it's time for us to start our new adventures with sunny Izzy zipp pipp hitch and misty but don't be sad it's not the end of gen 4 it's just a new beginning with gen 4 and gen 5 so let's enjoy our old good memories and make new ones with gen 5

all we get are mobile games from:
- the ongoing city building style one
- the chibi puzzle style one (but later stayed silent with no future updates after that)
- some of them requires money to unlock the full game with all characters unlocked
- Mane Merger that spoiled Gen 5 on Opaline’s powers before the later eps revealed it

I love that the franchise is still going strong, but man, how did we never get a Gen4 video game?
How did GEN 4, which was one of the biggest cultural phenomenons in history, not get any console game but GEN 5, which has been relatively forgotten, has gotten 2 games?
Apparently Hasbro made a bad decision and sold the game rights to Gameloft for Gen 4
Heck EVEN Gen 3 already had some Video games On The GBA.

I will never understand how the 4th gen MLP series never got an official game for home consoles, but this generation series gets another game.
I heard from the other comment that it had something to do with some of the rights to the series being with another company during gen 4
Any MLP game that doesn't have a custom character creator is just missing out
If that does happen, I think it should happen in a different era (like 500 years before the events of g4), or in its own separate universe to give the studio full creative liberty. You could join the royal guard and wear different sets of armour. Give it the Hogwarts Legacy treatment.
The character customization would be the first thing that comes to mind. Styling the upper and lower mane separately as well as the tail, making your own cutie mark, scars and tattoos, shaping the body and face to your liking, choosing your race, having various horn and wing styles, the colour and particle effects of your magic aura, choosing and dying your clothes and armour, clips, badges, and pins to attach to your mane and outfit, and even ridiculous hoof-braids as an option, becoming an alicorn near the end and choosing when those powers manifest as you use certain actions (corporeal and aethereal wings and horns as options). I could go on and on and on and on.
I’m man kenough to admit that if this were an open world pony adventure set in Equestria with Twilight Sparkle and the others, I’d have preordered it already.

Why didn't they make a game for G4 during it's time? I feel like that was a real missed opportunity. Even now, I still feel like they could make one since I still see Friendship is Magic merch still being made today.

That would be really fun. Play a pony, maybe an alicorn, or maybe a mix of earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns, that visit different lands, fight bad guys, help inhabitants and receive rewards, etc. In fact, a Spyro-esque starring MLP would be one of the _best_ ways to adapt the IP to video game format.

I partially worried about this sequel.
So far, what we'll get is;
- a story mode with 2-players and able to choose any Mane 6.
- Zephyr Heights to explore.
Downside:
- I'm only seeing already existing minigames but with a different coat of paint.

Could you Imagine if My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic was a Mid-90s cartoon which later spawned a slew of High Quality Action-Platformer Games made by a talented game studio to Rival Mario, Banjo and Kirby For the PS1/N64 Era and then in the future there would other Games and Cartoons that would Rival MLP's success in the PS2 Era onwards and they would be very successful Franchises.

Fun Fact: Before Nicole Oliver voiced Princess Celestia and Miss Cheerilee,
She voiced Lady Oiwa in the English Dub of Ayakashi Samurai Ghost Tales which was released four years before My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was made.
Although it’s amazing that Richard Ian Cox and Kelly Sheridan who had roles in Inuyasha and Yashahime Princess Half Demon had roles in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and they also voiced Bit Cloud and Leena Toros in Zoids: New Century.
And I found out Diamond Tiara’s voice actress also voiced Mayu Ikeda in Inuyasha.

I can see the lame budget that Hasbro gives to this project...there is no graphical improvement, models, textures, or minigames (those shown are exactly the same as the previous game)
At most the new thing I see is the possibility to use the rest of the ponies.
The modding community will probably mod in G4 Ponies if Denuvo isn’t added…

Because Hasbro made the mistake of selling the game rights for FiM to Gameloft who never did anything of value with the license.
