'Most unpopular PM ever': Do Labour voters have buyers' remorse?

- Sky's Ali Fortescue travelled to the town of Downham Market, Norfolk, to speak to voters after their constituency turned red for the first time in 80 years. Liz Truss was previously the constituency's MP.
It comes after weeks of controversy over the Labour Party's donation row and the signalling of unpopular decisions to come from the government.

The whole system needs reforming anyway.
Yes REFORMING 😉
Proportional representation
If butchers get a benefit in the Oct budget I'll know for definite something's going on. Or was it just he knew he was going to tell some Porky's 🤔
Yes the Magic Roundabout needs to come to an end and serious thought given to what appears to be a looming dark future faced by this nation one getting ever closer.
@@MoSalahFanEire Agreed! This seat had the lowest winning vote share in the whole country, only 26.7% people voted Labour to gain the seat
People need to stop defaulting their vote backwards and forwards between Labour and the Tories depending on who is popular and unpopular at the time, this country has been making the same mistake for the last hundred years.
The fundamental flaw of democracy is that 80% of people are morons. "Let's keep voting for the exact same two Parties that have screwed us over for 100 years" average voter.

I dont know any young people that vote Only Boomers believe the voting system works.
The tories being booted out was richly deserved. But never in my life have I had more doubts about a government than this current crop of jokers. Buckle up people…
Yep, like the clowns in the US who wanted rid of Trump and gave themselves Biden. They didn't want Biden, they just didn't want Trump. Same as we didn't want Starmer, we just wanted Sunak and Hunt gone, at least that was the case for me. No, I didn't vote Labour.
Yes the Tories needed to go, although Labour have already proved they are even worse. Only Reform left to vote for now.
Buyers remorse? Surely they were old enough to remember Labours last disastrous term?

It was never about a vote for Labour, it had more to do with kicking out the Tories. The fact is, the voting system, has needed reform for decades and finally, the momentum is beginning to move towards adopting something fairer as far as seats vs votes are concerned.
There was a referendum back in 2011 and people voted to keep what we currently have. That said, I think it was manipulated and it was held on the same day as council elections. I wonder if the Lib Dems are keen on reform now since they got so many MPs with a measly 12% of the vote 🤔🙄
@@eckie4679 Yes, the appalling AV system. Who cares what the meddling, appalling LibDems think?
@@eckie4679 I've worked on political campaigns on and off for 20yrs and I've been at the counts. Without going into detail there's almost zero chance of a vote being manipulated if it's done via the ballot box.
I think the problem with the 2011 referendum was because the choice wasn't between FPTP and the type of PR we probably need. It was FPTP and a system called 'Alternative Voting". I don't think people liked the idea of AV.

Very misleading report when it says “people turned to Labour”.They only go 2,500 votes more than previous election. The point was Tories lost 24,000 votes amongst which Reform
got nearly 10,000 but also the turn out was 9,000 down. This was a protest against Tories not a vote for Labour , if anything people turned to Reform or simply didn’t bother voting. This was echoed in much of the country.
It doesn't go on many individual votes they got that's not how the system works
ReformUK got the hard right wing Daily Mail reading vote as the tory party was disintegrating. They're a party (UKIP in fancy dress) with an ego-driven grifter at the helm and no real youth vote, a party for the old.

Stamer the 🤡
.. How could there be any excuse for not understanding what keir starmer and the labour Party are about??... buyers remorse??... what about an apology to the rest of us?????
I'm still waiting for an apology for the last 14 years. Starmer was always pretty clear about what he's all about. Maybe, buyers should read the brochure.
Starmer before and after the election has lied deceived and mislead the people, voters especially the pensioners, also, they won the election under false pretences. Starmer Reeves and Rayner have been the worse in receiving free gifts and freebies, box at Football Stadium for a year, donation of £10,000 to £20,000 to-buy clothes he’s for Starmer and his wife, Reeves and Rayner also accepted money for clothes, Reeves out in expenses for heating, Rayner hired a photographer to promote her first the year costing £68,000.’
It seems they are only in the Government to benefit themselves
I did not vote because there was not one politician I could vote for. All the politicians are corrupt and a bunch of Crooks. I was pleased to see horrible Sunak and Conservatives gone especially Cameron who stole six years if my state pension which contributed to.
Majority of Voters who voted Labour because they wanted to get rid of the Conservatives and who thought Labour was the Labour what was formed in 1920’s who were for the people and working class but that principal vanished when Blair who was a Conservative under Thatcher moved to Labour to forward his career in politics brought some of Thatcher’s policies with him then called Labour New Labour, with regard to Starmer I don’t know where he can’t from but he is not old Labour he is Conservative and is used some of the conservatives policies and so therefore Labour needs to be called second Conservative Party because Starmer has insulted those people which formed Labour in the 1920’s. Starmer dies not like the working class and definitely not the pensioners because Starmer and his side kicks even the pension minister does not know how the State Pension works
Starmer wants to means test the State Pension and take into account how many private pensions a worker has. This will mean some will not get the state pension.
They cannot means tests the State Pension and I don’t care if they are working class or wealthy they worked and if paid NI and NI stamp for 35 years they are entitled to the full pension allowance.
I still don’t understand why Starmer Reeves and Rayner have not been sacked and Labour suspended and another general election called
