31:00 it looks like when the chip lifted up when you tried to solder it down it left a ball behind roughly in the middle, so that first chip you replaced might be fine
31:00 the 4th switch, the 1st wifi chip, it is okay, it’s just there’s a blob of solder in the motherboard when the wifi chip flies, i think the 1st wifi chip is okay.
A tip on how to remove soldering balls on a chip is by cutting a soldering wick at a 45 degree angle to make it sharp and then with a heat gun heat up the the area and just tap the sharp tip of the wick to the solder ball and it will be sucked up into the soldering wick.
I feel you have been a little harsh on yourself of late. Your success in the last 15 videos, including the 2 losses has been very good. You are improving and we can all see it!
you do evrything right you chek and put in new parts even if you not ned bute you put in new part wher you think the problem is. you good on you work man you do all right
Every time you say (the moment of truth) my heart nearly literally stops, however thank GOD you fixed those 3 even though they took about 3 hours to fix but it was totally worth it (for you "I mean they gave you a great practice" and 2nd you've managed to fix them) and that was lovely jobly :)
Hey Joey, I'm new to the channel, you are doing such good and interesting work! May I ask you where did you learn to solder like that? All the tricks you know and the temperatures of the soldering station that you set, where did you learn that?
Be prepared Joey for the *Switch II*, i hope they release them as soon as they can and have the same failures or less difficult ones so you can make a lot of more profit!
Is there really that much distrust out there that you have to say that this is the same board after putting on the chip? The times we live in. Beautifully Jubley video!!! Your reballing is so good. The crimson red unit is working because of good karma. 31:03 Is that a ball sitting on the pad located 8 across and 7 down? Don't throw that chip away!! Haha. Cracked up on the Gordan Ramsey skit. Those that didn't stay tuned missed a great laugh.
Damn it! I only came into this room to fetch a measuring tape to measure up for some shadow foam and the device was just running random YT videos. I haven't found a measuring tape but I'm into my 2nd joey does tech vid. I guess i should just sub and get back to my SAK and zippo displays....after this vid 😂
All that effort for £14 is simply not worth it..... unleeesssss you make a video on it and I'm assuming will probs get 50k views and make you probs £300, and then also new subscribers and also a sponsor and also the affiliate links.... which all in all certainly makes it worth it. Great work again saving them from the bin too.
I never buy anything unless the profit margin is over 50% for lower cost items.. or for more expensive items I will purchase it if the potential profit will cover me completely replacing a part if I fail to repair it.. i.e. if the problem is a backlight issue with a laptop, I am only working on it if the price is low enough that I could buy a whole new display and still profit should everything go bad..
Figured I'd ask again in case you missed the first one. Why are some chips with solder balls not required to get reball and others are. Genuine question because I see some that look no different but one needs reball and the other gets solder on the chip and MB
Soldering noob here, I can barely tin a wire. Between 33:18 and 33:22 I noticed the 3 black things marked EV on the left and one on the bottom got very corroded. What are they and is that bad? And what happened to them? it it just a heat thing? What happened in between? Is it just an editing thing? I have a lot of questions lol.
I have a faulty Geforce 1070, its working but fan control is messed up and if i remember correctly it artifacts sometimes. You can have it for free if its a chance for you to learn/earn!
the profit on games in the UK are too low thank god for youtube because if it was solely for youtube alone joey probably die of hunger lol..u came far joey keep up the good work
Joey have you got 80% off selling fees? When you get that offer bulk list loads of test listings and then just edit them when you have a device to sell. The listing stays at 80% off until it sells or you end it.
Great job Joey, please revisit that PS5 last vid upload. I have exactly same issue im trying to work out, same uart error. Need a professional like You to figure them out 😃
-- Spoiler Saver The firsr one was giving you a lot of work.. the second one made up for that I'd say.. the third ond is sad.. the last one had also much work for you. Really great job on those consoles and Sally is happy. But the best part: 3 consoles are saved from the begin and can be used again.
I sold my autistic son's turquoise nintendo switch lite ages ago. It had a crack near the charger port and the right bumper didn't work properly. It was sold for £50 to someone who bought Nintendo switches to sell on. Makes you wonder if it is the same one. He would play whilst charging and fall asleep with it charging in his bed. Until one day it didn't charge anymore and it died. He did claim the audio jack didn't work as well but his headphones were broken (again had them in his bed - he's like a magpie) if you ever get it working I assume it would have his account details. would be interesting.
Demand for broken stuff is high enough to drive prices up - largely due to the success of channels like this inspiring more people to try their hand at electronics repair. It's very difficult to find realistically priced faulty gear on the main marketplaces now.
Joey is always so self deprecating while at the same time being one of the most talented micro solderers on UA-cam. Love this channel.
The Gordon's imitation was hilarious 😂
the idiot sandwich bit, loved it
had me rolling. brilliant
31:00 it looks like when the chip lifted up when you tried to solder it down it left a ball behind roughly in the middle, so that first chip you replaced might be fine
Great video as usual joey
50 quid each for faulty seems alot u can buy working ones for 75 -80
31:00 the 4th switch, the 1st wifi chip, it is okay, it’s just there’s a blob of solder in the motherboard when the wifi chip flies, i think the 1st wifi chip is okay.
okay cool someone else also saw that

You weren't lucky, You were Good! Great Repairs and Video. Thank You JDT. 😄
I loved the Gordon Ramsey impression, first class 🤣🤣🤣
I feel you have been a little harsh on yourself of late. Your success in the last 15 videos, including the 2 losses has been very good. You are improving and we can all see it!
the painting behind you you have done is nice
Super low profit but at least you have the solace of saving them from the bin
Joey always look forward to your videos, your well knowledgeable....am hoping to go back to repairs soon as an ex electronics engineer
Thank you, let me know when you do! :)
Loved this, amazing job. Liked and subscribed!
You are really good at what you do dude. Really enjoying your videos. Keep up the great work
Thank you, appreciate it :)

3 out of 4 ain't bad. Great video!
I got scared when you said 200 pounds and i only seen one switch 🤣
I remove ic chips using the drop method. I hold the chip and pick up the board slightly. Once the temps is right the board will drop away.
you earned a subscriber with this one, first time coming across your channel
Be prepared Joey for the *Switch II*, i hope they release them as soon as they can and have the same failures or less difficult ones so you can make a lot of more profit!
This is the dream! Hope you're well Adrian :)
Broken stuff is just too friggen expensive
My face is back to watch the awesomeness
My face feels very welcomed joey. Thank you
35:27 my teacher when teaching the chapter he does not like
Those stencils look good 👍

I was bidding on these as well
3 out of 4.. perfection 👌
>Bought broken Switch for £50
>"Said in listing it would not charge"
>Plug into my usb charger for 10minutes
>It's works
Easy money! haha
yh that first wifi chip defo works, u can see the solder ball in the middle
Re-balling dry is a beautiful thing.
Hi mate, can I ask what specific flux you are using - looks like it’s in some sort of syringe?
LMFAO I was looking at those switches myself..... Join the Discord !!
Paul Daniel’s teaching you tricks Joey? 🤣🤣🤣
Came here to say this 😂
Great way to earn money for those who enjoy fixing things.
Hi. What copper wire do you use for missing trace on motherboard
yeah gordon jump cuts made me laugh, you get the like and comment for thata haha
Damn it! I only came into this room to fetch a measuring tape to measure up for some shadow foam and the device was just running random YT videos. Nice repair. I would check the no fix with a modchip if it is stuck on firmware 17.0.0. and if so, update it to 18.1.0.

Better than meatloaf! Cos 3 outa 4 ain’t bad
i bought that scope light. shiz is fantastic.
Hey , where do you get the sheet used to reball ?

For such devices, i would have not paid more than 30-40 pounds each if I knew it will sell for max 80 pounds.
another nice fix and see you soon
Wifi ic reballing is always an headache, I had one last week…I had 4 attempts untill it was good😂
Figured I'd ask again in case you missed the first one. Why are some chips with solder balls not required to get reball and others are. Genuine question because I see some that look no different but one needs reball and the other gets solder on the chip and MB
What razer headset is that? The mic is really good.
Ramsay style Port Change for the win. 😁
You should use the Gordon Ramsay bit for a short

Great work! 🙂
0.46A and nothing on the display usually means "not fixable", so I haven't got my hopes up for that one!
that aint no Gordon, wheres the expletives...lol
Wish someone would rotate my board and make life easier.
the profit on games in the UK are too low thank god for youtube because if it was solely for youtube alone joey probably die of hunger lol..u came far joey keep up the good work

Louis Rossman would be proud
"this is my fingernail"
*shows glove*
"R button isn't R-ing" 😂
*Mavabord. Lil bool ov woa. Briish* 🤣
Not seeing the switchs on your eBay shop. Have they already sold?
Yes they have :)
4:47 speaking about trust issues and then you find this 🤣🤣🤣
Great job Joey, please revisit that PS5 last vid upload. I have exactly same issue im trying to work out, same uart error. Need a professional like You to figure them out 😃
You are clever!
33:17 Wifi ic cracked on the left maybe?
Idiot sandwich!😂 love it!

The break was from a poor clamp placement
Do you fix gadgets from customers for a fee as well? I have an xbox one that needs reballing and a redmi note 10 phone that also needs reballing.
when the wifi ic jumped you lost ball onto the cap above...
Funny episode :D
200 points for the Ramsay
That's 100% someone's spare parts consoles thrown together
Most of eBay is just passing junk to someone else.
@@officermeowmeowfuzzyface4408 it's a shame they can't be upfront about it
It annoys me soooooooooooo much when people dont put all the screws back...its so damn easy to keep track of them.
Then I don't think you've repaired any iPhones, try keep track of those lol
Every penny counts, at lest they are not in the bin
No serial numbers :-/ eek your setting yourself up for being charged for ‘reset’ definitely avoid
16:53 thats what she said

Thank god it’s not another PlayStation
bro i had problem with my xboxone i upgraded hd with 1tb but it shows E101
pls help
All that for a little bit of money
The non working wifi chip from a donor board looks chipped.
why tho you buying stuff for so much expensive as they broken it should be under 50% of selling price
cause he need enough content for videos so bids highest
I think the biggest problem is location. In the US, there is lot more supply than demand. Hence, it’s cheaper to buy broken electronics for Americans.
For the content. Also I don't think nintendo switch lite for 50 is not too bad.
That’s the market. Selling video games sucks
Demand for broken stuff is high enough to drive prices up - largely due to the success of channels like this inspiring more people to try their hand at electronics repair. It's very difficult to find realistically priced faulty gear on the main marketplaces now.
Joey don't just do Nintendo and PSs. Please do phones as well 😢.and Computers as well.
please put less commercials, it is awful to watch whole video !
Could they have had it in a board clamp and slipped ??
You risk £200 for £14 profit!!!
I’ve got a ps5 that’s been thrown across the room if interested.
damn that fingernail is something
WHERE ARE YA WHAT ARE YA HOW ARE YA JOEYYYYYY gngngngng
definetly no profit, because donor cards are not coming out a no where. But nicely done, you saved atleast 3 from bin
5:41 it's good to know that all of these switches say 'side bum' on the inside
