Even though he found fame he's still one of the most underrated songwriters ever in my view. I am an avid songwriter and musicians and feel Eric is truly one of the greats. He's inspired the sh*t out of me and I can hear it in my own songs. Thanks Eric!
The Father bless you all, loved all your music. I grew up near South Philly in the 60s-80s. Your music helped me make it through some tough times. Thank you so much!
Great song, Eric. Way to answer hate with love and music. I haven't seen you live since the Cabaret days. Wish the band would do a tour of U.S. Peace and health to you and yours.
To steal a page out of another commentator's assessment....a million voices, one song....pretty much sums it up. Really glad to see Eric showcasing his brilliant, and inimitable, guitar work, and impeccable song structure. Eric keeps evolving and pushing forward artistically in every way. Five stars, Eric.
This song gives me hope while remembering all the horrific events that have changed the world. On this 9/11 I choose to draw strength from these words. Thanks Eric for such a well crafted message ! Peace
@dylanfreud Thanks for the response and glad these guys keep rockin! I am from their hometown of Philadelphia, PA and have been a fan for almost 30 years ( I am 46) . Used to be in the fan club! Be well!
Hey, Eric, you should get with Rob and Cyndi and do an updated tribute version of "Time After Time" ala Elton tribute with "Candle in the Wind" for Diana. "If you're lost and you love you will find it..." You'll reach millions of more people who need to hear your message of love in this song, too. Best to Rob, David and band.
Hi Emma! You look great ... and Smart, too! Keep practicin' and having fun and eating Kandy if you want, OK. I will see you soon :). Thank you, guyzz 🙏🏽 xxxo, 👑No~toy~for~ya Jackson.
Sing "Sugar Baby Love" and "Chiquitita". I can reach the highest notes and I can sing with tenderness. I've never heard from you and think about your age!
@@herbie747 It is one thing to not connect with a song. There are probably millions of songs posted to UA-cam which I will never connect with. But let's take a closer look at your post, if you're open to it... I happen to see a more introspective aspect which Jade O'Dowd has picked up on, even if not kindly articulating it. And this is to ask, of all the songs which you don't like, which there must be countless ones, you could ask yourself... Why am I using my time to post a comment to slam this one? It would be a full time job for you if you were to see it as purposeful as slamming any and all songs which you don't like. So the deeper question I see Jade to be challenging you with is this: Why are you using your time to post such a negative message? You don't owe me an answer. But if I were to take a stab at a guess, and I were to give you full benefit of doubt that your purpose was to actually issue constructive criticism so that Eric might write better songs in the future... then you might not be aware that Eric has a long resume of having written some of the biggest songs in music history. So instead of "Who cares what you think!" ... we can highlight this fact that Eric is in no need whatsoever of anyone giving him any negative feedback whatsoever. He has these huge laurels to rest upon. Now we could likewise ask the question... Why am I taking my time to interject my own view on this thread?! The primary reason is because I actually happen to see this as a very CATCHY song. And more than just being a jamming tune, it has this astounding message which has the potential to help create a more harmonious world. Now we could be cynical here, and see the motivation behind your post as being you recognizing these hugely positive aspects. And you've decided to detonate your word bombs because you have some deep well of bitterness festering inside you. Now I could be totally mistaken on that. But given the psychological damage that ALL of us experience as we go through life, it seems to be an assessment which might have some validity. You're free to do whatever you like with this feedback you're being offered by me here. Just as Eric is free to take your own feedback for him however he would like.
One of the best song-writers in the world... seriously...

A brilliant song! What's up with the solo gig? Are the Hooters as a band done? Good luck to you Eric regardless of the Hooters affiliation.
