I can't wait for the development of Maximus' character in Season 2. He's learned more how to fight, who to fight for, and who he should actually fight against. Him being a Knight under the control of people he knows are bad will be really interesting.

I LOVE this scene. The music, the lighting, the character- and camera-movements, like a very careful, increasingly disconcerting dance... It's just wonderful, one of my favorites in a great show.
I had the biggest smile on my face when the music actually started and they all started moving. With the pacing of the music it really feel like a dance and I think I re-watched that particular scene like fifty times now.
That "whyy!?" Is genuinely so realistic. Like when you are just having a bad day already and stub your toe. Or a bag rips open on the last run. Or your fallout new vegas game crashes after you forgot to save for a while... You just wanna scream.
I hate how I was with Lucy in this scene 100% at first and thought it was gonna be a scene showing how people are all just tryna survive and we can all learn to trust each other because people just wanna stay alive. But this is way more realistic and less idealistic ultimately so I get it.

When you ask Colonel Hsu about the Fiends he even says "As in chem fiends" hence the name. I think it be more accurate to say that they put all Chem Addicted Raiders under the blanket term of Fiends rather than just all Raiders in their entirety. (In short all Fiends are raiders but not all raiders are Fiends if you get what I'm saying)

This is one of if not my favorite scene in this season. The music, dialogue, the reveal of the Fiends faces. It’s the definition of what Fallout is for me. This is how I visualised the stuff in my head, when I was playing f1 and f2. Fantastic special encounter.

This scene shows how bad@ss Maximus really is. He instantly recognized the situation before they even set foot on the bridge. He asked Lucy for her gun, and she refused. Notice that his focus remained on the two fiends the whole time. Here's the bad@ss part: The fiends got the drop and drew first. However, Maximus was fast enough to reach over and grap naive Lucy's gun and dispatch one on the fiends. The second fiend shot him in the shoulder, but his his focus stayed locked. He reestablished his aim and delivered a clean headshot. To top it all off, he calmly and gently places the gun back in Lucy's hand. I was like, "Damn! That's my boy!" I hope that we see more of THIS Maximus in season 2.
When they make the next fallout game, I want this sort of situations in the game. You don’t know if the next group of npc you encounter will be hostile or not and there’s this tension that won’t go away until you both cross lol

Even if Lucy is unbearably naive at times; she has the right idea here. In apocalyptic universes like Fallout, The Last of Us, etc I always wondered how characters would act when they come across strangers. In the Last of Us youre pretty much shot on sight by strangers with not much talking; so how do people trade? Join each other, etc? Both parties will typically be untrustworthy and uneasy about interacting with strangers, but atleast they made an effort to go on about their business in a safe manner.
The use of the Tijuana Brass tune "Ladyfingers" surprised the hell out of me. So appropriate and I appreciated the choice as a trumpet player who grew up with Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.
I LOVE how he hands the gun back to her too. I'm on my second watch through now, and after learning about him and things he did/didn't do (trying to avoid spoilers here lol) I'm seeing him with a new set of eyes and this scene, oh man. I don't know if he goes along with Lucy because he wants her to be right and that things don't have to be terrible, or if he goes along with it simply because she has the more leadership role between them. But it's such a good scene.
I like how Lucy is so innocent she asks “WHY?!” Because of the whole situation and not because of Maximus killing them, especially since they framed it where the fiends attacked first and Maximus retaliated so she couldn’t dispute him claiming self defense.
I always like the difference between Maximus and Lucy. Though Maximus is somewhat on the level of Lucy within the Brotherhood, he knows danger when it’s there, and knows more of the wasteland all because he grew up in it. Haters will not make me hate Maximus, all because I understood his story.
im a major Fallout fan and was cynical of the show to come out, but it completely disarmed me. It's terrific, it's one of the best shows we've seen in years. I can't wait to see what the Ghoul and Lucy get up to.
the way i interpret the music is that it signifies the old way of doing things before the wasteland peaceful and fair gesture until the songs cuts away into violence and then finishes when he hits the water this is the new world
At least those fiend were not attacking a guy in full power armor with a minigun accompanied by a sentry bot unlike the average fallout raider/fiend/mercenary
Okay, I may not be someone who is a fan of this video game/series, but I would be lying if I didn't say that the cinematography, pacing, and choice of music in this scene is just... _beautiful._ Nostalgic, even. I can't stop replaying it.
I might just be high on Jet, but the female Fiend looks a lot like Cricket from Fallout 4, she's wearing the makeup and outfit. She's definitely my favorite merchant...twitchy, but polite and loves her job.
I really thought this was a beautiful scene of Lucy fixing the way how people interact in the wasteland. Rather than holding guns on eachother with threats Lucy tries to come up with a new safe way. So sad that it didn't work out further proving how her ideals can't work in the wasteland.

I really thought this was a beautiful scene of Lucy fixing the way how people interact in the wasteland. Rather than holding guns on eachother with threats Lucy tries to come up with a new safe way. So sad that it didn't work out further proving how her ideals can't work in the wasteland.

Maximus may be an idiot when it comes to science and other book learning but when it comes to wasteland knowledge he’s very smart. Like goku dumb with normal knowledge but a genius when it comes to fighting
I love this scene, I loved the music. If the show is supposed to be about Lucy finding a better way among the brutal wasteland, she almost succeeded here.
