You should have had the roof up on the convertible to balance out the air flow over the cars, with the roof down, the air flow entered the cabin and will have slowed the convertible down significantly

I'm a traditional manual gearbox type but that dual clutch is something else. I have a TT with the S tronic. I drive around in manual mode when i want to have fun and open it up but in auto for the daily commute.
Very surprised by the two times, both really quick to be fair at the time that must have been very competitive
Great vid Calvin,Had my tt coupe manual (gotta be manual if your 40+.) 2008 2.0 tfsi 8 years now 48k and still going strong, ill be honest electrics can be a bit iffy here and there but there a great little car ...... rs kit going on this week with a miltek cat back closely followed by an apr remap...a new lease of life for the old girl
Sounds great. Same thing here, manual, 2008. Got it last year. A teenager's dream realised at 38 😉. Been doing some upgrades to it. Thought of mapping but being FWD not sure if the car can cope with any more power. It's a joy to drive it on A and B roads daily especially when the weather is nice.

Try checking under the bonnet for the weight of the cars from now on 😉 should be a metal plate or sticker
Calvin, Just look on the plate inside the door openings (takes 2 secs) and you will see the exact weight of each car, and obviously then the difference between the two :) No more guess work :) JJ x
Funny you did the dragy on the TT mk2.Did one myself in my TTs mk2 REVO stage 1 and got 4.6 secs.Thats with Four People in it and the front tyres aren’t great either mate.Great video 😍
I was gonna say that's a slow time for a Ravi stage 1. I got dead on 4s on mine. Also stage one with intake and exhaust. Running 330bhp.

Shouldn't the roof be up for the tests?
S-tronic is just a DSG gearbox but rebranded and after new map u will get rid of DSG lag on start. For AWD 200HP isn't that much it useful minimum, u will need much more to get the best from Quattro system. That's why I looking for 3.2 V6 the best sound and has 250HP u may get more from 2.0 TFSI cuz it has turbo but with bigger power comes more expenses.
This shape are a bargain now. The 2.0t manual goes well especially with a map. Tempted by one tbh

Brought mine last year, 2008 Manual, mint. Amazing daily driver, great buy as most of my commuting is done on A and B roads. You can't go wrong with a well-serviced, under 60k miles sample.
I prefer 3.2 V6 it has only 250hp but sounds the best. Adding turbo or compressor is expensive but u will never get enough of hp, you will always demand more and more hp.

This is manual, very little options, coupe, 4 cyl, fwd, so the lightest possible one u can buy

Somethings telling me launch control didn't engage properly on the dsg. TT's use the Haldex system don't they?
Had a mk1 225 manual up until recently, was a great car to drive over a distance, shite on back roads tbh, laggy turbo, heavy as fuck, not the most nimble thing in the world (I ran a mk1 mx5 alongside) good daily if you dont need space for passengers but not something I'd consider a fun weekend car
Good video but the difference between the coupe and roadster is only 150 pounds in weight. So basically nothing.

Pe Ter that’s my friend ATW Clothing mate. Part of the deal when I bought the brand was a load of the original clothing some of which was really poor quality. I’ve never done anything with it so I just told the guys to put it all on a cheap rail out the front of the stand because I know some people love a bargain. The high quality stuff is on display on inside the stand tho, we won’t stop doing that don’t worry👌
Of course automatic was slower because you open the roof!!

Only fair if they both had the same engine and gearbox set up. Compare manual gearbox with manual and automatic with automatic.

V6 3.2 is Only manual for the mk2 and for the automatic is 4 cylinder 2.0L
Its the same chassis more or less to a golf gti
