When you truly dive deeper into the Half Life and Portal franchise, you really realize how depressing it is from all angles. And even though HL1 didn't really have this feeling to it, the remake, as well as 2 - Episode 2 did.
I don't want to be "that one guy" who would say that denouncing someone else's work, but seriously, I can not believe that you lost to something which took less effort to make than many other submission. This obviously took more effort, and looks better. I'm so disappointed in Valve.

Having a story that the player is to piece out themselves is the glory of what Valve does. Giving small bits to a lager story, not just saying "Oh this is what happened blah blah blah." and instead saying "Hey look at this picture with a deep meaning and minor details for you to put together and enjoy. Either way, Valve will continue to entertain us for years to come.
