- Finally finished it!
I just needed one more month.
Clearly this video is way too late for the competition that ended more than two weeks ago. But hey, why waste all the effort put into this by putting it on the shelf, right?
Using a combination of Stop-Motion Animation and After Effects, this music video was possible. (Special thanks again to my mother for creating the costume for my puppet.)
Hope you guys enjoy this video as much as I have enjoyed making it.
Thanks again for all the awesome comments on the unfinished version of this video. Hope it was worth the wait to see the final product.
Also thanks for Valve for holding this competition (though I didn't get to enter my finished entry) to allow me to be inspired to create this video. Continue to make awesome games guys! (Like they're ever gonna read this...)

it's so crazy to think though that doug rattmann is the ONLY reason why you are even playing the game. chell wouldn't have been tested had he not swapped the files and portal 2 wouldn't have happened had he not hit the button.

I remember finding this room during my second play through and just sitting there for a few minutes listening to this song and contemplating the state of Portal's world.
I also listened to it on repeat while reading Lab Rat. Moving stuff.
I was speedrunning the game, and I saw the room, and thought, I’ll just look in there later, I wish I abandoned the run there to just sit and listen
Considering Portal takes place in the Half Life universe, yeah the state of the world is pretty bad. That wheat field might’ve been the last patch of any life on the entire planet.

The community test chamber "Portal Unto Dawn 3" lets you escape and uses this song. It's incredibly peaceful and bittersweet in that context, and it's always what I think of. I recommend.

+Hayden Franco I know that feel bro, back in 2012 when I played tf2 I used to play with this dude and his sister, we never met in real life, just steam friends. Once playing, I thought he was so rich, he had a white bills hat ( Which was like 8 keys back then, it was considered rich). He and I were some of the best friends, his sister was too. As 1 year past, after summer break, we stopped talking after Christmas, during the period of Christmas my dream was to be better than him, stupid I was, I downloaded LMAOBOX. I never got to use it but I got banned because of valve finding it in my system. Being vacc banned. I did cry trying to look for them in my friends list to tell them that we couldn't play together unless gmod. But I couldn't find them. I was panicked, worried, I tried to find them all over steam, no use. They never left a message saying goodbye to me, I couldn't find them on steam. There names was " Nin CHEEZE US" and " Poptart Kitty". I was depressed. I avoided steam for a long time. Then I came back, made a new account and still have lots of fun, till this day, I still try and find hope in finding my lost lost best friends.

Michał Kobus its an artistic choice, i think it fits.
By having as little as possible from the game it dissosiates the story from the game and it becomes its own story, a stop motion chell figure would have been the second option but it would take some of the drama away, with a live action chell we can better feel rattmann's point of view, chell is the only thing real for him, shes hope, she bested glados, he couldnt just leave her behind when he escaped because he only escaped thanks to her. A live action chell means much more than just chell, it represents how rattmann sees chell. That and a blank faced gmod chell would have looked awful
@@IsaSaien -- I highly disagree. Either use all stop-motion, or all live-action - trying to mix the two really weirded me out and took me away from feeling immersed. Other than that, though, I could really tell that this was made with love and hard work, so this was still pretty great.

Portal 3's main character should be doug rattman and through the game and it's 20 chapters, this happens,
Doug was hired as a Aperture Science employee, for Cave Johnson( his uncle ) and the game changes dates every chapter, so GLaDOS is built and tested for the second chapter, doug survived the gas chamber made by the monster, so the chapters go on, doug survives in the walls of Aperture where GLaDOS can't see him. And at the end, he goes up to Chell and sacrifices himself for her, with a bottle of pills for $9.99
Lemme say that I really felt something here.
Hard to believe that this came out when I was still in school.. Man, do the years fly by.
Despite the age, this is still an absolutely charming and amazing piece of artwork. You can see the love, passion, and creativity, even to this day. It's still gorgeous, over a decade later, and the fact it still gets views just reminds me of how passionate the Portal community can be.. Even if Valve will probably not be releasing another mainline Portal any time soon.
