Dude, thank you so much for uploading this. I spent the whole day trying to decide on a CarPlay unit and was so close to buying garbage from Alibaba. I got a 2015 is250 and it looks like you've sold me on it.Thank you!
Yeah man, no problem! Glad it helped you out. I made an installation video as well, once you receive the unit, make sure to check that out to help with the install.
@sunniquaderin4717 honestly bro, don’t let that deter you from buying. It’s very very small difference. I bet you won’t even notice because you’ll be in love with having car play/android auto
Bro Im actually waiting on this guy to order the carplay module for direct integration into the OEM screen in Toronto.. And I definitely hear you with the old lexus nav haha, the fact that it doesn't show live traffic and shit is a bummer, hows carplay been man? Big diff, no regrets? Its like 600 CAD here for all in, including install so
When you start the car is there a way to set it to default to the carplay option? or will it always start in that blue menu screen where you select where you want to boot into ex. Original mode, CP Link, Video, Settings, etc? thanks for the help
Around 30 seconds is not bad at all. I usually use my phone when I get in the car to navigate or pick music, and after 30 seconds the CarPlay takes over so there’s really no time wasted.
@ alright thanks. What’s the model number of yours ? Here in Australia , the model number is LXI , is it the same for yours ? Also it uses a Qualcomm processor.
Yes, only on OEM though, not if playing on this new unit. Any audio playing through the OEM unit- Radio, XM, Bluetooth will show the media info in the techometer. If you’re playing audio from the Lexion /Binarytek, the OEM unit needs to be set to Aux input for the audio to work. Once you set to aux though, in the tachometer it just shows aux.

@@blacksnow90 Quick question: Do you know of any head unit that doesn't have that AUX sound quality issue? That's the only thing holding me back

That startup time is really annoying if you want to load navigation in. How did you decide between touchpad/jog dial/etc options?

Hi bro. Is this touch screen ?
Yes, but it’s too far back to use as a touchscreen.

If you listen to the OEM Radio do you see the radio info in the popup screen in rhe tachometer left ftom the RPM gauge ?
