Most countries we travel with international data with our US cell provider or we get a local SIM card but we decided to not do either for Kosovo and explore "unplugged". Have you traveled without data? How did it go? If not, would you do it? why or why not?
The Bazaar looked awesome, especially the BUCKETS of cheese! 😄 Bummer about the jazz club. We were really intrigued to see what a Kosovo jazz club was like. Glad to see you still had a great day despite things not quite going to plan!
The b-roll of the food is awesome! So cinematic. Also, love that you guys made your own walking tour by just exploring. Sometimes that's the best way to explore and experience a city! Just unplugging and looking up can get you to see things that are not normally included on regular walking tours or internet guides! And that rooftop view was incredible.
Agreed - views from above are something we try to seek out everywhere we go. And when we cant.. drone 😊. Yev got so fancy with the b-roll of the food- so fun having it flow one to the next. He definitely envisioned the final product when filming it. Thanks for shouting that out!!
The Heroin Monument is a great idea! Cool library. You guys find the best markets. Sorry the Jazz Bar was closed. Still a win. You found it. Safe travels.
We usually don't buy data 😅 we love walking tours, sorry your guide didn't show up. That sandwich is looking so good. Such a cute bazaar you found there, seems very similar to Turkish style. It seems like you had a great time!
I have traveled internationally without cell service but I always made sure someone I was with had cell service. I think we are just too dependent on the internet and our phones these days! I love your self guided tour. The library was very unique looking...as an architect, I do feel that it's an interesting design...lots of shapes and domes. It seems like there is so much graffiti throughout the city. Btw, your food shots are so beautiful!
Well done for doing your own walking tour, love it! We’ve been overseas without internet before and quickly made sure to download offline maps and offline tour guides when we found free wifi 😂 So awesome exploring and finding places by yourself 💪
Yes offline maps are a life saver and honestly how we got around Italy and France. We agree it is a fun challenge to do it without data- mixes it up a bit and opens up doors to just figure it out as you go and not look up reviews and the most efficient way to get somewhere. That worked out so well for us cause we found the market 🥳
That wrap looks bombbb! What a true hidden gem you found there. The newborn monument was really cool. It’s a shame there is so much graffiti at the top of the church but the view and your drone shots were awesome. I love that library!! It’s actually super cool - I appreciate how unique it was. You guys did a good job at finding some stuff to do without a guide, wifi, are anything really. Well done! Looks like it was a good day 🙂
It seriously was amazing! So delicious. Cold eating outside but very worth it. We love that they repaint the Newborn monument every year, such a cool tradition. The library is so interesting. The inside was beautiful I posted a pic on IG of Yev in the library.
How beautiful is the meaning behind the newborn monument. Love how you guys always embrace each situation and always make something positive out of it all. Ah such a shame for the graffiti at the top of the church but views were incredible. Definitely worth €1. That library looked super cool, definitely different architecture. Ah what a pitty about the Jazz bar but hopefully you guys find live music. This was a jam packed day, loved going exploring with you guys "offline"
So glad you enjoyed exploring with us, yea it turned out to be a good day, never got to hear live music unfortunately at least not for a while due to some restrictions it seems but its okay, we'll take what we can get :)
The food looked great! I really would love to see around Kosova, how did you guys spend touring around the country? I hate when people ruin attractions with graffiti it's so disrespectful. Great tip about the budget dinner!
We ended up going out to the bear sanctuary which is out next vlog we uploaded today which was so fun! We looked up the bus station and how to get there before leaving out airbnb 😃
We love sharing the bloopers 🤣 Glad you enjoyed them. It was a really fun day even without wifi. The market was the best to stumble upon. Do you use data when you travel or just figure it out the old school way?
Since you mentioned street vendors serving roasted chestnuts, pro tip: Don’t roast chestnuts in a microwave. It sounds like grenade explosions. Unrelated: Beautiful church and view!
Oh YIKES 😳 that sounds dangerous and like it would have been so startling. Did they taste good?? The church was HUGE! We were so happy the tower was open during covid so we could get the birds eye view.
@@DjusLife My father-in-law/the kid's grandpa did it. At 2 a.m. Tasting them was...um...not an option. Someday, want to experience amazing houses of worship like that, especially on the other side of the pond where there is so much history!
Oooo bummer on the chestnuts 😬. It has been really amazing getting to go into so many different places of worship. The reverence and sacredness is beautiful.
It’s so tricky to travel without a guide or internet access. Did they have wifi in the place you guys had breakfast? We always struggle when we don’t have a local sim. The markets looked great and dinner looked super tasty too! 😋
Naw it didnt have wifi or heat 🤣 but delicious wraps! We did download an offline map which helps a lot and we kept expectations low so the day far exceeded our expectations and we had a ton of fun 🤩
So many buckets of cheese!!!! They have squeaky cheese curd like cheese in the Balkans too like the midwest! Don’t know if they put it over fries like Wisconsin and Minnesota do though 😁

Aww thank you friends!

We absolutely love going to live music around the world. It is such a cultural immersive experience. Next time 🤣 post corona

I know 💪🏼 we found it haha! Felt like a big win. And totally lame but after a long day in the cold I was ready for a warm bed 🤣
We usually don't buy data 😅 we love walking tours, sorry your guide didn't show up. That sandwich is looking so good. Such a cute bazaar you found there, seems very similar to Turkish style. It seems like you had a great time!
It did feel a lot like the Turkish bazaars but a lot less spices. 🤣

Sadly there was a lot of graffiti, the city was pretty run down but the people were so warm and welcoming!
