Glad Kosovo helped save bears from terrible conditions like that and you could stick around for feeding time and even got a ride all the way back.
I can’t believe people were able to privately own bears before. The conditions that those restaurant bears lived in sounded horrible. This sanctuary looks truly amazing. I love how they have the names of the bears and a little backstory and bio of each. The photos of the rescues are just heartbreaking! I’m glad that the bears are well taken care of in the sanctuary and have space to roam around. What a cool experience!

We have a bear sanctuary here in Romania as well!! I have not been there yet, so I cannot vouch for how much of an actual sanctuary it is, but from what I have heard it is quite heartwarming and a lovely safe place for bears who came from bad situations as well! I'm so glad the bears were well taken care of at the sanctuary. Sometimes you never know if the 'sanctuary' is actually a nice place for the animals but it seemed like a good spot. So nice that you experienced such hospitality!! That walk back wouldn't have been so fun.

I had no idea that people would steal bear cubs. Wow! I saw some Giant Pandas in China and the cubs were adorable. The bear keepers said their fur was really rough and they are not cuddly. They are bears. I am happy they are in a safe space and they can enjoy their lives. Safe travels!
Yea many were caged in bad conditions outside of restaurants to lure people to eat there, based on the stories of these bears its a much better environment for them now and yes they love their fruits and veggies haha :)

Worked with a meteorologist who was recording a forecast, and instead of mixed precipitation, for some reason he said “mixed vegetables falling from the sky.” For the first time, this video actually embodies his blooper forecast!
I would hold on for dear life these bears are massive 😬! They are definitely kept wild and not trained to be pets which is so so good! Haha 😆 what a yummy and nutritious forcast!
It really is, we recommend for anyone in the area to stop by there and the low entrance fee of 1-2Euro helps to support this organization. Glad its illegal now. as. well and that the bears now have a great new home and treatment

It really was. We didn’t know what to expect but once there we were blown away by the professionalism and kindness and all the ways they really were doing everything possible to better the bear’s lives! It was such a cool place to see and learn about. Last night we just read they have one in Ukraine where they have saved bears from being used to train hunting dogs in horrible cruel ways. Had no idea four paws was such a big organization.
